what kills me about the videos i have seen of raptors stuck in mud and people calling them crap is the fact that it was designed as a desert racer and has tires on it that would be used for that use, not mud. The chevy has lasted quite awhile..in an 81 so about 30 years so far. Also factory welds on small and mid size trucks do not have a very high tensil strength,roughly 36,000-90,000. Large semi's are about 115,000. Me being a former industrial welder and my last test passing with the breaking point of 137,000....I think my welds can and will hold up past factory.....brotha.oh ya....I build custom frames,beds,roll cages,and full blown trucks for a living now :) no before you speak and sound stupid.
It does fine in the sand you just can't expect a truck of that weight to push through sand without paddles quickly like your light scrap metal chevy. My svt has senoma paddles on the back and it's killin banshee's out at glammis. I can honestly say I'd rather spend what I did on my 45,000 dollar truck than built one for 1,000. Cuz I know mine will last longer. Factory weld is stronger than any weld you can fix up brotha
