  • The Nintendo 3DS is actually "about" 10% smaller than the DS Lite.

  • I had a triforce DS!!!!It's broken....

  • I'm getting the limited edition zelda 3DS

  • if you put in a normal DS game, are the screens the same size as the old DS or are they bigger? I know that the top screen is bigger because it will be streched but what about the bottom screen?

  • @Raygirly You're wrong in saying the top screen being bigger stretches out DS games. It does not; is displays DS games with black bars on the sides of the screen. It isn't like when you put Game Boy games into a Game Boy Advance -- there is no stretching of the pixels in DS games when played on the 3DS. However, the resolution is upscaled by default to fit the screen, causing DS games to appear a little blurry. The bottom screen fills out just the same, as its the same size as the DS'.

  • @HealyHQ i already know that, i meant that it will be streched up a bit, i have seen that in some videos here, the top screen was higher than the touchscreen... sorry my english is bad so maybe you misunderstood me.

you still didn´t answer my question...i wanted to know if the size touchscreen is bigger than the size of an old DS (not lite or dsi, the realy old one, because i only have this one)

  • @Raygirly Actually, I DID answer your question in my last post. See? "The bottom screen fills out just the same, as its the same size as the DS'." By the way, the DS and the DS Lite have exactly the same size bottom screen, so even if I had said DS Lite instead, it would've meant the same thing anyway.

  • i think 3DS has not the same quality construction

    the DS Lite had

  • @Cyth767 oops i meant "as the other ds" not "as the other 3ds"

  • @Cyth767 i traded in my XL... XL was lame it had the same resolution as the other 3ds jst stretched i was dissapointed with this. if u try the 3ds u will notice its a very high definition resolution which is much more important than screen size. even though i owned a XL it was a waste to have such a large screen without changing the resolution

  • I envy how you have the Limited Edition Zelda Triforce DS and I could never gather enough money to get it. ):

  • @Cyth767 In my opinion, it's definitely worth it. The experience is just unreal. You really have to see it for yourself. However, you may want to wait a month or two until its list of titles is more expanded. Currently, there are only a few games worth purchasing (again, my opinion.) I just bought Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, and it's great, but since it's a Fighting title, it may or may not be your cup of tea. Shop around for games that appeal to you before you commit to a purchase. :)

  • IS THE 3ds screen quite big though?

  • @MrMattyboi01 The top screen of the 3DS is larger than the top screen on the DS Lite. If you believe the DS Lite is a good size, you'll be satisfied with the screen on the 3DS as well. What's really cool though is that the 3D effect adds the illusion of depth to the screen. To use a cliche' analogy, it feels like you could reach into it, as though it were a window into another world. This added sense of depth actually makes the screen appear larger than it is. Pretty cool stuff. :)

  • omg your 3ds and you dsi are so cool!! :O

mine is just a regular dsi with a red top thingy.
