...Redbirds pulling into QB Plaza (0:02-2:06-2:50)--we ain't never gon' see that in NYC again! But...at least we got a chance in time to see it. We still get R-42 J trains (1:07-1:14-2:36-2:40-2:47) over the Willie into the borough, and taking the D & B over the Manhattan (0:18-0:21-1:33) was always an interesting experience. Only the D should be back on the Brighton and the B on the West End, just like it was then in the mid-90's! This excellent vid is mid-90's NYC (BK & Queens!) at it truest.
...great "NY Undercover" episode (which would've been the 1994 'Missing' episode) with this smooth/mellow song playing in the intro (every "NYU" episode intro from that legendary 1994-1995 first season was fuckin' great!) aired on Thursday night. Man, Ed, Dre & Lisa (G) OWNED the NYC radio mornings back then. Stern is shit, man! Ed & Dre WERE the shit! Word up!!!

I feel like there should be a New York Undercover episode going on in the background! lol Like the opening section before the credits when they set up the what the show's going to be about :-)
@ctmckin--Actually, the 1994 (Season 1) episode, "Missing," ('NY Undercover' episode about a missing 6-year old boy) features this classic song in the opening intro. I was watching it this morning (2/22/2012; 6 fuckin' a.m.! :D) on Centric. That's the only reason I'm here tonight watching this classic video! I had to after hearing this song early this morning. I had to. Zhane made a guest song appearance later on in that great first season of "NYU" in the February, 1995 episode "Knock You Out".
What happened to the Vibe? The only thing I hear these days is the sound of the corporate machine gears turning and it make me sad. The Vibe needs to come back. The Vibe has soul. The Vibe has creativity. The Vibe is Wonderful, The Vibe is Beautiful. Please oh please bring back The Vibe.
Before the elite realized, by controlling the music, they could control people's thoughts, actions and soul. The music now is turning our people into slaves.
The only negative I can say about this era was the fact that they sampled way too much, but other than that, this was a classic album, and a very nice era for music!
@BlacksAreBeautiful By this era, you mean now right? Because if this what you consider too much sampling, then artist nowadays are staight up stealing!!!!
what 3 people didnt like this??!! you got to be no rythm non soul having tuned out toned out backwood grizzly adam loving banjo head not to like this!!
i really miss the 90's everytime i hear this song it send chills down my spine i actually cried when i heard this song again after so many years just a perfect example how muzic is all fake and fucked up
@susieqme1 WOW! you cried you really felt this back then. brought back alot of good memories for you nice. I would play this in my CD player and sit by the water in Queens just look at the skyline of Manhattan while listening to this. and other smooth grooves i miss those dayz.

@daretosayit--That would be alright. Because I'd like to know what they are up to in 2012. It'd be extremely great and refreshing to hear some new music from those women--REAL women. Not that illuminati stink cheese flooding the industry, then the radios (if you're in NYC or the surrounding Tri-State right about now, just turn on the damn radio. You'll see), and eventually, our neighborhoods. Messing up our people's heads (like some of them need to be any more damaged! YOU KNOW WHO!). So sad...
@BrooklynEagle ....amazingly, the very last song I ever listened to on the radio is Zhane's "Crush". It's a shame that I can recall that radio music got so bad that I know the exact last moment I could enjoy the music. Now I only listen to what I have on my hard drive or have burned to CD - from the 60s to mid 90s when actual bands/musicians/singers were prevalent. I think that the Unsung series is so welcomed at this point because many people really really do want that music back
The 90's was soooooooo RAW! LOL! No one was naked! And ppl danced under bridges - ALOT! Will always love it. Watching this is evidence of my once ago childhood. I can't help but bump to it

Spot on Cara, it most certainly is a guitar sample from George Bensons love X Love, which incidentally no one has posted on You-tube yet as I was trying to source it a few days ago, but Zhane can sing so easy to get away with, but don't these tunes bring back memories of yester year...

@eryca86able i agree,...wtf!..its a shame what we have now..the only ones i can really say put it down now is jill scott..erykah badu, alicia keys ,..and maxwell <3
@eryca86able BET went the way MTV did. They listen to numbers generated by a machine then to actual people. I haven't watched BET over 10 yrs. They are completely a non issue for me because the stuff they promote leaves us a a people stranded. I was shocked to find MTV still around. Cable network isn't worth the money especially when you see and hear what you want on the internet.
from like late '92 until around the end of '95 was like really (in my opinion) one of the best times in the history of R&B...this group is a major example of that
its called progressive...it was the same for hip hop...as the checks got bigger quality got smaller(imo)on another note...the 1st 20seconds of this song...gets me charged before i work out!
i loved them when i was 10, n i still love them now. the only difference is that when i watch their videos, i get nostalgic and just..iunno can feel my soul shift. "smooth" is how i define them.
This is a dynamic group who's music was sooo unique & different.wonderful music. Amazing how these 2 voices just callaborate & make These sistas were trully talented & very much underated till it sickens me!!! There music is like fresh air, flirty, jammin'...just great music.
this duo were true ladies their music and videos are so classy.none of this butt showing and titty janggling!!!!!!! listen to the voices and watch a vidoe that truly represents what blackwomen are true queens
I appreciate great musicality when I hear it and this wonderful duo represents the beauty of music filled with emotion that is elevating in many ways. They are missed. Someone posted how this music makes one feel good and I have to agree. Music is transcending especially when the Lord works through you. We need to feel the things that we have in life now that make us happy. Bravo to the ladies from Zhane and all who were involved in creating their sounds. Make love eternal :D
man u can tell the y were really into the music they was making.not just for profits like 2days shit.look at their eyes they high off the vibe nd i thin the rest of us who can appreciate this music are 2 :)
I wanna go home now. The streets, the noise, the traffic, the hot dogs off a truck. The smells of incense & cologne in the air, with a hint of N.Y. garbage. Yall don't feel me. It gets that deep. Good music, times, & location during this song's release.
I remember that show ny undercover. I miss this group. I remember looking forward to hearing their latest track. my gosh I miss GREAT music like this.
Thank you Yaffa Bey!

Seems hard to believe Zhane is now ole skool. The 'vibe' still sounds as fresh as just yesterday. Timeless tune.

I wanna go home now. The streets, the noise, the traffic, the hot dogs off a truck. The smells of incense & cologne in the air, with a hint of N.Y. garbage. Yall don't feel me. It gets that deep. Good music, times, & location during this song's release.
