perhaps, 1.5 kW is not high enough for CBer, may be if HAM radio are allowed to as high power as 2.5 kw, may be more CBer will convert to HAM service.

I believe there are many more CB operators than HAM operators, CB operator got to get together petition FCC , that convert some of the unused HAM band such as 28 MHz, 50MHz, 222 MHz band to make into new CB band, and allow at least 100 watts of power. in democratic world, number win.

@QROFB you seem to forget that for those bands international rules apply besides 28 and 50 MHz are still being used at times, have no idea about 222 MHz as that is not an amateur band in my region (Europe)

You could ask for an expansion on the 11 meter band to say 26.500 to 28.000 then you could ask for a few more PMR frequencies and the allowance of external antennas and maybe raising the power a bit,
