also, how can you call a murderer like Fidel Castro, who killed hundreds of people just because they where against his thoughts a great man?
People come here an write they love Cuba and socialism, but the dont realize that if they were living in a country like cuba they would not have the right to come write what they think.
is easy to speak about socialism sitting in the comfort of your home, in front of a computer (from a capitalist company) and with food in your stomach.
Now go talk to Cubans, Russians, Chinese or North Koreans and see how good their life is..
I happen to know a Cuban, a Russian and two Chinese and if there is anything they agree on is that socialism is a terrible way of living.
Also, compare what 90% of the Cubans eat, and where they live to Fidel's situation. Fidel sits in the comfort..
True, they heavily rely on imports (which America was trading with Gen Batista) Castro ended the exploiting greedy thugs like the UFC that were exploiting their cash crop sugar cane The US responded by embargoing Cuba Russia filled in the gap then missiles were stored there. "Proverbs 27:17" If America put politics aside and just helped them out, Reagan helped communist nation of Poland
Actully all fidel said is true. But he tried to hide the starvation problem. The reason that happens is due to USA's embargo wich affected others to make an embargo with Cuba. Cubas economy is weak but would be great if USA just revoked their embargo. Finaly then Cuba could raise their workers payment. Build more farms and homes and stop deaths. Cuba would be great. Instead USA wait for Castro's death to revoke the embargo and let more cubans die. Its the cold war's fault.
Is it wrong that i sort of agree with castro here. Yes we are given the freedom but to what extent. When we go too far what happens? Why should we be punished for expressing freedoms. His points were that are no punishments because its not allowed.
For those who say "viva Castro" i ask you to take a trip to cuba and go on a tour of the country, after you see the terrible conditions the people live in, im sure your views of Castro will change
it's funny, most of the ignorants who post Viva Fidel and long live socialism, I bet you anything that they have never lived in Cuba nor been in Cuba. It's cool to say shit like that and praise that motherfucker from a free country, right?
@thatkindofguy234 you've probably been to Cuba as a tourist where they show you the hotels, nice beaches etc, stuff they show only to tourists that born cubans don't have access to, but I welcome you to cruise around the island and go to where the general population is and you will see the real Cuba, you will see hunger, young girls willing to sleep with you for food, people willing to die on a raft to come to the US, a lot of poverty, bad hygiene etc. It's very sad...
fideal castro you are a hero to millions of poor and oppressed people around the world..!! I wish u long life and long live the Revolution..!! Fuck all these Cuban American traitors whos grandparents and parents were rich under the Batista regime as PIMPS , gangsters and oppresive landowners..!! now they are whining since they have lost their past glory & money..Fidel Castro is the greatest human of the century! Che will be proud of you! :)
@MrComemierda01 The North Korean's only love their system because they know literally nothing else. They have no connection to the outside world at all. For all they know, America is worse off economically than them. Cuban's do have a slight view of the outside world, they have also the best education system in the world. They don't love their system... they hate the repression, but they fear change. Nations ran by dictators for 5 decades usually feel that way.
@singletonryan USA citizens only love their system because they know literally nothing else. Read the article 'America the grim truth'. I feel lucky not to have to live in the Corporate Dictatorship called the USA.
An interviewer is suppose to ask questions in an objective way so the interviewee is able to give an answer that helps others understand the interviewee. However, Baba Wawa is so interested in getting her point across that she resorts to arguing with Castro and making the interview as interesting and educating as Hardball or The O'Reily Factor. I am by no means a Castro supporter, socialism doesn't work boys, but that doesn't mean Walters isn't a bitch and a joke of a reporter.
Look at those top two comments....Do any of you know the numbers of poor, homeless and hungry Americans? No system is perfect, you need to find the right mix. Imperialism like in America is not the answer but a democratic and socialist country is the answer, Fidel Castro's government is too strict.
@philyB08 Imperialism in America??? what imperialism? have not noticed any imperialism in the US during my visits..and an Empire can have poor and homeless..both the Roman empire and the British empire had poor and homeless people....and what did Castro do in Grenada,Angola and in Vietnam???
@am1966ath "the creation and/or maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination." This is the definition of imperialism. Look around America, and the conditions present meet the criteria to be considered as an imperialist country.
@YcantWeAllGetAbong Communist dictators/Tyrants did always rant about " imperialism" "Capitalism" and exploitation?? Now this blabla was unopposed for a long time because these communist tyrants were aided by western intellectuals that had an entusiasm for this kind of societies..Soviet union was the largest and last empire in the world, China is an Imperialist power in Tibet, North Korea has imperial ambition visavis the rich and succesful South Korea..Communism=explotation
@YcantWeAllGetAbong The communist ranted capitalism for its inequality, but on the same time their own population lived in squalor and poverty while the elite, Ceascescu,Kim,Fidel,Mao,Breshniev etc lived in luxury..so socialism don t work, Fidel is an terrorist, drugdealer, hypocrite, tyrant and he lies about China & Vietnam which both abandoned "socialism" that never did work.
If you wanna see me and my girl getting IT ON FOR REAL, click my name. Best video ever or I'll pay you $50.00. Click my name, go to the link and watch our home video. She was drunk and she came like an angel. ;)
He was a charismatic leader, I am not much a fan of communism, but he is definitely an interesting leader to learn about he isn't as crazy as other dictators, Jong Il perhaps or Gadaffi I think it is because he doesn't try anything being so close to the US, they are actually trading doctors for potatoes with Prince Edward Island as PEI has a doctor shortage. Still pretty cool with free education, and if you want to become a doctor they will help you.
most of you guys are so fucking bias, anti-communists... George Bush has probably killed more people in his 8 years of being president than Castro has in his whole life.
Lol, it is for sure not a paradise... however, you won't see a "Occupy Cuba"... right?
Because there aren't too many rich people exploding the poor (capitalism).
Every economic and government system has its cons and pros... but I rather have a 100% poor society instead of a 99% poor and 1% rich controlling the poor!
@bcta302 That's the lie of comunism! In comunism there are class diferences just like in any type of govertment, what you just describe is what is happening in Cuba. About 1% controls 99% of the population. Oswell said: In comunism everybody is equal but some are more equal than the others.
But tell me, isn't capitalism also a lie? they make it look like such a beautiful thing "you get opportunities to make a living on your own", and you can be very successful with capitalism, but that would be by taking advantage of the poor working class.
And while you're making more than what you need there are those starving.
Either we all starve or we all eat. At least communism tries to makes thing as equal as possible.
@bcta302 Capitalism is a lesser lie. We came from Cuba with nothing, Just the clothing we had on. Now we live like normal middle class americans. And we are not the only ones. Go to Miami Florida. 80% of the population there came the same way as us. And all of them live better now than when they lived in Cuba. Some are very successfull profesionals and business people. Because they worked hard.
and why so many countries are ignoring the Embargo on Cuba and still trading with them! USA is a joke and is no longer able to "Police" the world. This is coming from a Puerto Rican and a United States Citizen born and raised in the US. Do some deep research and you'll see the truth on how US treats everyone!
How about the 638 assassination attempts on Castro? I'm willing to bet that most of those attempts came from the US since they're still pissed because Cuba had the balls to kick US Corporations off their land instead of leaving them there to make their economy even worst just like in Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and most of South America... More Power to them! People need to start seeing the United States of America for what it really is and stop acting like we are the victims!
@33guyfawkes He certainly is a great man and knows what is needed. I'm sure he would love to have elections and at some point Cuba should have them. But if compared to other third world countries, Cuba is a story of success. The true objective of every socialist in the third world is to guarantee a decent standard of living in terms of healthcare , food supply and if applicable education. Only after those have been achieved and enshrined elections are up for debate.
But look, you will have to do your own research. Your questions are too basic which means you are blinded by hate and communism. I'm not sure I can help you further. Visit TheRealCubadotCom for more, but it may be too late for you.
@farleftloon, I haven't made many questions, and those that I have, such as your view on the US government carrying out illegal actions in other countries, spying on it's own citizens and medical experiments against unwitting US citizens, you have chosen to ignore because you don't want to admit that these activities are far worse than anything seen in Cuba.
@neilfri Although I'll give you this much; every time I deal with leftists they insult my mother, threaten to kill me and damn the day I was born. You have been, overall, civilized.
@neilfri You must retort to imbecile insults while trying to polish "your" English. Pathetic. I will not address your propaganda when you totally ignore reality. First you go for the way I write and then my education level, when you do not even know basic quotes from the dictator, which a simple search would had provided.
@farleftloon, Have you been to Cuba? You defend US atrocities I mention and ask ME how I sleep at night?Incidentally, what's your view of the US government conducting medical experiments on unwitting US CITIZENS over decades, sometimes resulting lifelong health problems/death?Religion,like US culture,is a malign influence, but churches/congregations exist in Cuba. Also plenty of evidence that US medical insurance companies often don't want to pay out for treatment, not so in Cuba.
Whilst Che Guevara may have gone about things the wrong way in Bolivia, ultimately he was fighting so people could control their own countries/resources and not under dictatorships(what you call "crap"),which the US thrust upon them because the US doesn't like democracy as it means fewer opportunities to corruptly manipulate governments for it's own benefits.Castro is a diplomat,so will obviously not serve up slop for guests in government buildings.
@neilfri Guevara was another blood thirsty psychopath who today is worn on t-shirts and underwear. Ha! Viva el capitalismo! He executed untold numbers without a trial and left a hellish island where there is no freedom of speech. Where what I write here will not be read by the Cuban people, but it is my hope the fat despot in his mansion will read it. There is no freedom of religion, no freedom to go to the nice beaches unless you are a rich capitalist tourist. No freedom to leave or think.
@farleftloon,incidentally,give me the quote in which Castro said "he was not communist and was not interested in power".Cuban people have internet access, but not so much as in the US because the later refuses to allow cables to go across the seabed. No freedom to think??Are you smoking something?Again you ignore the executions and support for terrorists you country has provided over the last 7-8 decades, at least.Do you even have a response to those facts?
If you want to know about people being executed without trial, take a look at US involvement in the Vietnam war or, more recently Guantanamo Bay or Abu Ghraib in which 'terrorists' have been tortured to death (methods supported by your previous administration and for which many in the Nazi leadership were executed) thus.No freedom to go to 'nice beaches'.Your are ill.
What I write isn't propaganda. You obviously don't know about CIA propaganda.Look at Operation Mockingbird/Northwood documents as good examples. The CIA implements these operations because it knows the "masses" are easy to manipulate, that they can act with virtual impunity, that few people care or pressurize their government for changes even when this information becomes public. The 'east' still don't have 'freedom' as Larin America doesn't, both are still heavily pressured by the US and Russia.
When did you say comunism no longer exists? "America: I love you, you have done more for humanity than any country of system, most of all by ending Communism around the world".I don't read Granma.Who are you referring to when you state "200 to 300 million" victims of communism murdered?Healthcare isn't free in US.According to the Central Bureau, almost 1 in 6 US inhabitatants don't have healthcare insurance and are not therefore entitled to treatment. They would be treated in Cuba.
@neilfri I forgot apparently you don't know history. Let me spell it out for you. When Reagan was president and the Cold War ended, it ended because Cuba's greatest supported ended, the former Soviet Union. Obviously that is what I was referring to. OBVIOUSLY we are talking about Cuba, a communist country so of course communism exists. I'll try to be more clear, just for you, in the future. As for health care, Canadians come down here for theirs, as do the English people who can fly here.
@farleftloon,improve the standard of your English and your knowledge of history.I suspect that because in America generally 'communism=Russia and Cuba' you unquestionably/devoutly accept all your government says.Europeans/educated Americans are shocked by how biased your media and gullible your general population is.My government is also vehemently anti-Castro,but my conclusions are drawn from research coming from an impartial footing.
@neilfri At least you have the opportunity of doing research, unlike Cubans, or the Chinese who are not allowed to read what's going on in Egypt. Why do you think that is? It's not too hard. I also have the opportunity and freedom to read whatever I want and make up my own mind, but because what I say does not agree with your extreme ideology, well, according to you I must be believing everything my leaders say, as if they cared to say anything about a backward hellish communist dictatorship.
@farleftloon, well, if you'd seen my link below and cared to do a basic youtube search, you'd find that your leaders have a lot to say about it. My argument is not that you disagree, but that you have undertaken virtually no research whatsoever and since you've been found out you revert to comporting yourself in a churlish and infantile manner. That doesn't help your argument.
@neilfri As for my English, you really need to look in the mirror, or stop using Google translator (another capitalist evil tool) or whatever you're doing. For instance, what is, "Whilst Che Guevara may have gone about things the wrong way in Bolivia, ultimately" After the second time I gave up. Learn to write, please!
@farleftloon, again, churlishness and infantility. If you're going to quote from me, please use the whole sentence or you just make yourself look silly.I wrote "Whilst Che Guevara may have gone about things the wrong way in Bolivia, ultimately he was fighting so people could control their own countries/resources".I suggest you read posts more carefully. If you struggle to understand this basic use of English, your lack of research ability is perhaps forgiveable.Learn to read, please!
@farleftloon USA healthcare isn't even free. It's driven by profit and still leaves thousands of US citizens to die of curable diseases every year - and yet costs US citizens twice as much as Europeans pay for their healthcare. Healthcare debts are the highest cause of bankruptcy in the USA. Tne USA is a brutal, barbaric, foul place to have to live, full of fat violent warmongering fascists who get bossed around by Israel.
@adeworks Yeah, Israel is our boss. We listen to them. I'm sure they want us to be in debt because of healthcare, and everything else you said. And we listen to Israel because they are our boss.
@MinorCheese777 You sound like you don't believe it. Copy this into Google and read it: 'The Power of AIPAC Who Runs America? By Brian Crowley'
"I [Olmert] spoke with him [Bush]; I told him: You can't vote for this proposal. He said: listen, I don't know, I didn't see, don't know what it says. I told him: I know, and you can't vote for it! He then instructed the secretary of state, and she did not vote for it."
@neilfri In Cuba, (as in Canada) if you are young and healthy like most people, you will pay BIG taxes for healthcare you may not need for a couple of decades. Of course, in Cuba they take everything away, not just large taxes. You must work "volunteer" forced labor in the hot fields, you most learn communist doctrine and be brainwashed. In the end, it's not free at all but rather the most expensive health care there is, and second rate at that.
@farleftloon,oh dear.Cubans ARE paid a wage,it is just low.Are you getting Cuba mixed-up with Cambodia during the genocidal Pol-pot's tenure (who the US sponsored during that time)? If Cuba's health service is 'second rate', perhaps you could explain why has the lowest infant mortality rate in the western world, one of the highest life expectancy rates in the region (only 0.47years lowers than the US) and has the 2nd highest Doctor to patient ratio in the world, after Italy.
@neilfri Uh, when you talk about infant mortality, do you include all the children who died in the Caribbean trying to reach freedom? Cubans have a low rate of pay??? Uh, like 98% taxation given to the tyrannical government to keep the prisons running, 98% plus forced "volunteer" labor for all that "free" health care? Yeah, keep dreaming.
@farleftloon, so it's gone from 100% taxation to 98% in a day or 2.That should please you. That figure includes ALL infants, yes.Do you have any figures as to how many people have died in the Caribean?Or the 'volunteer' labour?I thought not.You haven't provided any detailed proof of anything you've written, just populist, grnadiloquent statements.
Where do you do your research? It just seems like you allow your fingers typw away mindlessly. Are you suggesting that perhaps (or perhaps not) one instance of US inspired black propaganda against a Cuban Teacher is supported by the Cuban government?
@neilfri Then you have North Korea, another jewel of the communist system. People will actually escape to China, from one very communist country to one that at least allows some American businesses. How about that. McDonald's comes before the assassin Che Guevara and his CRAP! And of course, when the wall came down in Berlin, the west rushed to the east, uhhh . . . Sorry, only you would believe that. The east could not want freedom any sooner, and now finally they can live in freedom.
@farleftloon North korea isnt a communist country- its a dictatorship. Kim isnt the president (his dead father still is) kim jung is just the head of the party, but he isnt looked at as a God by the north koreans- he is God. to them. "technically" north korea's 'offical' government is a democratic-republic, but we all know thats bullshit
Incidentally, a further demonstration of how ignorant you are of world events, Communism still exists in China, North Korea and, yes, Cuba, to name but 3 countries.
@neilfri When did I say communist countries do not exist? Are you delusional with reading too much Granma? What does not exist anymore is the 200 to 300 million souls communists have murdered, mostly their own people. Instead of your silly propaganda, let the drumbeat of the masses tells us who is right. People swim, go through sharks, and risk Castron's bullets to get out of Cuba. No one is rushing to leave Miami to go get that "free health care" where you pay 100% taxes, but it's FREE!
@neilfri But the thing I don't get is why is someone like you so freaking blinded. You have at your fingertips what the regular Cuban citizen will never see: INFORMATION. Right here on Youtube you can find videos of Castron in his mansion eating foreign foods and enjoying life like a grand capitalist. You'll find videos of white rich tourists enjoying beaches where the common Cuban cannot go in, unless they're there to wipe the capitalists shoes. Are you that brainwashed to reality?
@neilfri Right here on YT you'll find four videos on how little girls have become prostitutes for the tourists in that paradise the despot has created. And this while having trade with the whole world except the U.S. How can you sleep at night and defend this system. Your arguments are the same ones I've read a hundred times. Yet in Cuba still there is no freedom of religion, no unions, no gun ownership unless you work for the dictator, no freedom of expression, no freedom to leave the country!
@farleftloon, Why is gun ownership important?Everyone knows it results in more violence,as in the US.You have 'information' in the US,but believe your government never lies and the CIA doesn't disseminate disinformation worlwide,e.g.when arguiing for illegal wars in Iraq/Afghanistan.You're very selective with video evidence you promote (where is it?).Prostitution is far more common in the US,in places like Detroit, where 3rd world conditions are apparent.
The US refuses to allow people to visit or do business in Cuba because it wants to control Cuba, as it did during the Batista dictatorship, for whom the US provided great support, despite his gross mistreatment of his people. It's obvious why the vile US tyrant abuses Cuba, despite the latter using the same political methods as China (who the US enjoys doing business with and loses no sleep over this fact!),because Cuba is small and weak.
@neilfri Ha! As I said, I heard it all before many times. Funny how one of the four words you use over and over is CIA. You sound like Castro, who has blamed everything on the CIA, Sarah Palin and Mickey Mouse. I wish Cuba took responsibility for their mess. Since you don't address anything I said other than what seems easy to you, gun control, I'll keep repeating it. When Cuba opened the door during Mariel, the dictator lost almost the entire island. Even he was surprised and had to stop it.
@farleftloon You may hate, envy, or whatever the USA, but to this day Cubans keep trying to make it over here. And no, it's not rich Cubans, there's only one and that's the despot in his mansion. You may hate us and our presidents, but we can change course every four or eight years. The blood thirsty dictator in his mansion has been there over half a century. He came with lies saying he was not a communist and was not interested in power. LIES! No one in Cuba likes him but they are afraid!
@farleftloon,on one hand you say "you must learn communist doctrine and be brainwashed",on the other that all Cubans hate Castro and want to leave Cuba. These statements don't correlate. You've "heard it all before" about the CIA because it's true,it's simply that you don't want to believe it,again reflected in the fact that you only respond to 'gun control'(and even then very lightly). You don't consider that banning all companies from doing business with Cuba would hurt it's economy.Interesting.
@neilfri Yes, you MUST learn communist doctrine! Or in your world that just does't happen in communist countries. Again, right here available for your red fingertips, video of kids acting like little soldiers reciting how great Fidel (sitting in his mansion) is. But what you don't get and probably never will, is that while the government brainwashes, people intrinsically (that means naturally) know better. They may say Viva comandante, while flipping the despot the finger behind their backs.
In the mean time, in the US, people make fun of their government all day long. Movies are made against any American war, one was made on Bush's assassination. Comedians mock and criticize politicians, people write books and columns. Cartoons, sitcoms, novelas, newspapers, you name it! Now try that in Cuba and see how long before a bullet lands in your head, or when all you see are the four walls of a jail. JUST TRY IT!
@neilfri Please stop it with the CIA. You write all this crap and hate without much fear of the big bad CIA, or FBI. I guess they're not as bad as having a chivato (that means spy) literally on every corner, like the despot (in his mansion) had to do. I guess the people adore him so much the dictator had to spy on them and feel the love.
@farleftloon, stop with the CIA as you can't answer any of it,which alone proves that your country is far more brutal than Cuba/any other power in history, has ever been? Yes.So you haven't read anything recently about Dick Cheney authorising spying on American citizens? Seems not. You're picking and choosing what you want to answer because your argument is baseless.I ask again, what do you think of previous US governments carrying out medical experiments on unwitting US citizens.
See my notes below for education on US 'humanity' and 'killing and murdering those who disagree'. You have conducted no research into this matter. You are someone who is incapable of forming an opinion without someone telling you how it should be.You harp on about freedom but your media is one of the most biased in the world (e.g. Fox news), until the 1970s 1000s of individuals from the US indian population were being forcibly sterilized, the US bans americans from visiting Cuba.
Human rights atrocities committed or supported by America; e.g. Muy Lai, support for murderous Nicaraguan government forces (1980s), installing dictatorships worldwide, support for South African apartheid, widespread support in Latin America for Operation Condor, illegal wars in Iraq/Afghanistan and subsequent cover-ups of further abuses conducted by US soldiers, bombing Paraguay and Guatemala because they wanted to control their own resources, etc, support for Cuban terrorism and drug smuggling.
The level of intellect and research ability of all those who oppose Castro here is quite telling given that their argument generally can't go past "shut up... you talk sh*t" (this includes you apacheslim). Cubans live in poverty because the ugly, evil American empire forbid all American businesses and foreign businesses wishing to do business in America from working in Cuba. To those who oppose him, please provide examples of how he has been 'evil'.
Say what you want about some of the more sordid aspects of Castro's rule, he is one of the few politicians in the last 100 years who genuinely cared about his people. And to take a country with widespread illiteracy and disease, and leave it with 100% literacy and universal health care, that's an extraordinary achievement.
Fidel: I'm not like you. I belive in freedom of speech, I believe in union rights, freedom of religion, freedom to own my land, a gun, and not to have my children brainwashed by your demonic system of slavery. I belive people can travel from country to country with freedom and most of all, I do not kill and murder all who don't see things my way.
America: I love you, you have done more for humanity than any country of system, most of all by ending Communism around the world.
Fidel the Fat one in one of his mansions speaks to the super rich who come visit him, like Hollywood stars. He knows nothing abotu poverty and has killed more people one can count. Of course, communism as a whole has murdered from 200 to 300 humans, many of these their own citizens.
Too bad all these blinded by communism don't get that their praises to the killer Castro will not be read by Cubans, since the despot controls everything while living in a mansion and keeping political prisoners in jail.
@Matthew7six Let me guess, history isn't your strong point?
Castro, with the aid of the Cuban populace and foreign sympathizers, overthrew a tyrannical dictator put in place by US corporations. Companies like United Fruit reaped the profits, holding a land monopoly while Cubans starved. Castro fought that.
If you truly believe the US has freedom, doesn't imprison those which oppose oppression and didn't have censorship following its origin, you are insane.

Fidel Castro had the chance and opportunity like no one to do in Cuba what could’ve be impossible in USA, and maybe he had that in mine in the beginning but unfortunately it is not what happening in Cuba. He is a liar, is really difficult live in Cuba, I don’t know what people can’t buy or sell over there, or do any kind of legal business, it can help a lot. in Cuba there's not food, there's no anything. Why? The Goverment can't take care about everything but he think its to be like that.
Barbara, this is Fidel Castro. He conquered a ruthless US-backed dictator when he was 32 and established a government that has lasted 50 years. What the fuck have you contributed to the people of the world? Some vapid tv shows? Show some respect.
I am damn glad I live in America, where we can get rid of our president every 4 years. I am glad we can express dissent toward our screwed up government. I also think we should let other countries handle their own affairs as they wish. If given the choice between Castro's Cuba or Saudi Arabia, I would pick Cuba. Our embargo and severing of relations has probably kept him in power more than hurting him. Hell, if we would have had relations, we could have got the right people in to whack him.
@McDago100 Hey bro fidel was a great savior of cuba bro. Now if he wouldnt have ordered our companies to refine russias oil then we would still be cool perhaps cuba would be an allie. And as for fidel, you shouldnt have been so stuck up russias ass. We know you are a good man but you are to close to us to be fucking with the russians to tuff. We wouldv gave you everything man. Usa is not a forgiving country so give it up bro. U get one chance to be trusted
@TheEagpro2 Please repeat. Look up Huber Matos and see how forgiving Fidel is. He had his soldiers guarding American owned oil fields in Angola, from being attacked by American government supported rebels. Look at his having General Ochoa shot! And for what? Trumped up charges that his own intelligence staff is guilty of. He's no worse than a lot of other dictators, but our foreign policy here is ridiculous.
I wouldnt be. Cuba may not have alot of money because of the embargo but the people are alot more educated and wiser than americans. they arent obsessed with populist wars for oil they arent stupid enough to elect a piece of shit of a president like bush or obama who bomb countries. People dont starve in the streets of cuba they dont go without healthcare like in the Us. But ofcourse you make up for this with big tvs and fastfood outlets and shows like jersey shore.
@apacheslim Well, i think its time for you to go on youtube and do a little more research on your view of how cuba is doing. Cuba may get free education but there are many people starving, cubans prostituting themselves with foreigners fo a plate of food and to feed their family. Journalists, men and women in prisons treated like dogs for opposing political views. Yes, corruption of gov`t exists everywhere, but the inhumane situation in Cuba surpasses many other countries. --Camilo Camilo
There arent people starving there. they dont have as much crap to eat as you probably do but a government cant give free education and free health care and yet having people starve. They come after food. The only people in prisons there are criminals or people who have tried to undermine the cuban government with the US's help aka scholarships from US institutions where they can incite animosity in cuba and chaos like so many times in the past.
@apacheslim Not true at all, anyone who opposes the system will quickly be thrown into jail. Also, yes they give free education with many teachers who have been caught working with police officers to prostitute students to tourists. ur right, they dont have as much crap to eat as much as you and i, they are limited to very small fixed portions of food to feed big families. If the people want more food they have to buy it which is something that is impossible when theres NO money.
@taurusnbr1 Castro has not the same conception????? many western intellectuals admire this Caribean police state but they don t move to Cuba?? USA are paranoic about Castro but Fidel hasn t made this blessed Island rich in 50years.
@apacheslim Nothing is free when Cubans are paying 95% of their income in taxes. Wake up! Why don't you take some Cuban refugees into your home and learn something or just shut up.
@taurusnbr1 Not every socialist country is the same, not every democratic country is the same nor is every capitalist country every country in the world except a few are capitalist but that doesnt mean they dont have famines or shortages of basic human needs. too many ism's out there you have to judge each country by their own merits. What you need to understand is that there is an infomation war by the America-Euro governments . just like iraq wmds its a lie but for 50 years.
@apacheslim they may not have basic human needs but the opression in Cuba suffocates their citizens to many extremes. I also never said that every socialist or democratic nation is the same but the level of cruelty to the people of Cuba never fails to make me cringe. There may be an information war but i certainly know exactly what sort of treatment and injustices are lived in Cuba, i have family and friends who used to live there and some that still live there and it is very much a reality.
Saludos nuevamente a la gusanera apatrida, no solo de Cuba si no de Venezuela y los demas paises revolucionarios y progresistas que se refundan de Nuestra America, que ya camina lentamente pero segura hacia su Segunda y Definitiva Independencia. Thank god, Fidel's days a numbered in Cuban. In a not to distant future this dictator will be gone and Cuba will be free again. Bring back the gambling, the Americans, the mafia, and lets make Havana the glamour capital that it was in the 1950's.

decades ruling has its rewards...e.eg a bright leader like Castro. I wish him well but if this guy ever passes away, i'll head to Cuba to witness his passing. Criticize me but we have politicians in US whom allow gov't shut downs while the tax payer pays their salaries...talk about freedom? That's insane!
Barbara is a dumb bitch, i was just in cuba and came back like 3 hours ago, and there are not nearly as much homeless ppl as the US does, socialism works, we in canada do it, and we have the highest standard of living in the world, the states are just ignorant as fuck and socislism works great if ran properly, and the castros have done that...im not a fan of communism, but socialism works, capitalism is bullshit and only works if ur rich
@scottwill19 Shut the fuck up, your stupid. You don't know the crisis that our people in Cuba suffer. I was born in Cuba, so don't try to argue with me. And that's why I'm in America and risked my life to come here. So stfu and stay in Canada you ignorant shit. If Capitalism did not work then how come the U.S. is the best country to be living in with millions of opportunity?
@EdOwnz do i honestly have to lecture a cuban about cuba? i was literally just in cuba yesterday, and yes, it looks like shit, but it isnt, people may get shit pay, but they make fortunes in tips, me and my friends (we were down there for a week for a grad trip) befriended a few bartenders and they told us...and capitalism doesnt work u ass, it only works if u grew up rich, why the fuck do u think the gap between the rich and poor is so large u fucking shithead? dumbfuck, viva la canada!!!!!
Barbara Walters is what I would call an American that fits the perfect stereotype or generalization if you will of a troubador of capitalism. Americans that fit into this category, this obsession with capitalism, have only very narrow minded views of socialism to the degree of peering out of a pinhole into the vast universe. The love of money is what is speedily sending this world into a catastrophic decline from an economical, environmental, and humanitarian standpoint. Earth, wake the fuck up!
also, how can you call a murderer like Fidel Castro, who killed hundreds of people just because they where against his thoughts a great man?
People come here an write they love Cuba and socialism, but the dont realize that if they were living in a country like cuba they would not have the right to come write what they think.
gsahrens 2 days ago
is easy to speak about socialism sitting in the comfort of your home, in front of a computer (from a capitalist company) and with food in your stomach.
Fidel sits in the comfort..
gsahrens 2 days ago

MrComemierda01 1 month ago
@MrComemierda01 The North Korean's only love their system because they know literally nothing else. They have no connection to the outside world at all. For all they know, America is worse off economically than them. Cuban's do have a slight view of the outside world, they have also the best education system in the world. They don't love their system... they hate the repression, but they fear change. Nations ran by dictators for 5 decades usually feel that way.

I am by no means a Castro supporter, socialism doesn't work boys, but that doesn't mean Walters isn't a bitch and a joke of a reporter.
buildgod93 2 months ago
Look at those top two comments....Do any of you know the numbers of poor, homeless and hungry Americans? No system is perfect, you need to find the right mix. Imperialism like in America is not the answer but a democratic and socialist country is the answer, Fidel Castro's government is too strict.
philyB08 3 months ago 10
@philyB08 Imperialism in America??? what imperialism? have not noticed any imperialism in the US during my visits..and an Empire can have poor and homeless..both the Roman empire and the British empire had poor and homeless people....and what did Castro do in Grenada,Angola and in Vietnam???
am1966ath 1 month ago
@am1966ath "the creation and/or maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination." This is the definition of imperialism. Look around America, and the conditions present meet the criteria to be considered as an imperialist country.
YcantWeAllGetAbong 1 month ago
@YcantWeAllGetAbong Communist dictators/Tyrants did always rant about " imperialism" "Capitalism" and exploitation?? Now this blabla was unopposed for a long time because these communist tyrants were aided by western intellectuals that had an entusiasm for this kind of societies..Soviet union was the largest and last empire in the world, China is an Imperialist power in Tibet, North Korea has imperial ambition visavis the rich and succesful South Korea..Communism=explotation
am1966ath 1 month ago
@YcantWeAllGetAbong The communist ranted capitalism for its inequality, but on the same time their own population lived in squalor and poverty while the elite, Ceascescu,Kim,Fidel,Mao,Breshniev etc lived in luxury..so socialism don t work, Fidel is an terrorist, drugdealer, hypocrite, tyrant and he lies about China & Vietnam which both abandoned "socialism" that never did work.

Because there aren't too many rich people exploding the poor (capitalism).

bcta302 3 months ago
@bcta302 That's the lie of comunism! In comunism there are class diferences just like in any type of govertment, what you just describe is what is happening in Cuba. About 1% controls 99% of the population. Oswell said: In comunism everybody is equal but some are more equal than the others.
davidgon98 3 months ago
@davidgon98

The dictator probably said the following one from one of his mansions after drinking French wine and actually being honest for once:
–Castro in 1959, interview with CBS’s Edward Murrow, 30 days after revolution.
“One of the greatest benefits of the revolution is that even our prostitutes are college graduates.”

Also plenty of evidence that US medical insurance companies often don't want to pay out for treatment, not so in Cuba.
neilfri 5 months ago
@Farleftloon,
Whilst Che Guevara may have gone about things the wrong way in Bolivia, ultimately he was fighting so people could control their own countries/resources and not under dictatorships(what you call "crap"),which the US thrust upon them because the US doesn't like democracy as it means fewer opportunities to corruptly manipulate governments for it's own benefits.Castro is a diplomat,so will obviously not serve up slop for guests in government buildings.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Guevara was another blood thirsty psychopath who today is worn on t-shirts and underwear. Ha! Viva el capitalismo! He executed untold numbers without a trial and left a hellish island where there is no freedom of speech. Where what I write here will not be read by the Cuban people, but it is my hope the fat despot in his mansion will read it. There is no freedom of religion, no freedom to go to the nice beaches unless you are a rich capitalist tourist. No freedom to leave or think.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon,incidentally,give me the quote in which Castro said "he was not communist and was not interested in power".Cuban people have internet access, but not so much as in the US because the later refuses to allow cables to go across the seabed. No freedom to think??Are you smoking something?Again you ignore the executions and support for terrorists you country has provided over the last 7-8 decades, at least.Do you even have a response to those facts?
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Okay, more free education but make sure you send me 98% of your earning in taxes.
I am not a dictator, and I do not think I will become one. I will not maintain power with a machine gun.
I Won't Be a Dictator, interview with Ruth Lloyd (January 1959), printed in The Spokesman-Review (24 May 1959)
I am not a communist and neither is the revolutionary movement, but we do not have to say that we are anticommunists just to fawn on foreign powers.
Resignation announcement (17 July 1959)
farleftloon 5 months ago
If you want to know about people being executed without trial, take a look at US involvement in the Vietnam war or, more recently Guantanamo Bay or Abu Ghraib in which 'terrorists' have been tortured to death (methods supported by your previous administration and for which many in the Nazi leadership were executed) thus.No freedom to go to 'nice beaches'.Your are ill.
neilfri 5 months ago
What I write isn't propaganda. You obviously don't know about CIA propaganda.Look at Operation Mockingbird/Northwood documents as good examples. The CIA implements these operations because it knows the "masses" are easy to manipulate, that they can act with virtual impunity, that few people care or pressurize their government for changes even when this information becomes public. The 'east' still don't have 'freedom' as Larin America doesn't, both are still heavily pressured by the US and Russia.
neilfri 5 months ago
Farleftloon,
When did you say comunism no longer exists? "America: I love you, you have done more for humanity than any country of system, most of all by ending Communism around the world".I don't read Granma.Who are you referring to when you state "200 to 300 million" victims of communism murdered?Healthcare isn't free in US.According to the Central Bureau, almost 1 in 6 US inhabitatants don't have healthcare insurance and are not therefore entitled to treatment. They would be treated in Cuba.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri I forgot apparently you don't know history. Let me spell it out for you. When Reagan was president and the Cold War ended, it ended because Cuba's greatest supported ended, the former Soviet Union. Obviously that is what I was referring to. OBVIOUSLY we are talking about Cuba, a communist country so of course communism exists. I'll try to be more clear, just for you, in the future. As for health care, Canadians come down here for theirs, as do the English people who can fly here.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon,improve the standard of your English and your knowledge of history.I suspect that because in America generally 'communism=Russia and Cuba' you unquestionably/devoutly accept all your government says.Europeans/educated Americans are shocked by how biased your media and gullible your general population is.My government is also vehemently anti-Castro,but my conclusions are drawn from research coming from an impartial footing.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri At least you have the opportunity of doing research, unlike Cubans, or the Chinese who are not allowed to read what's going on in Egypt. Why do you think that is? It's not too hard. I also have the opportunity and freedom to read whatever I want and make up my own mind, but because what I say does not agree with your extreme ideology, well, according to you I must be believing everything my leaders say, as if they cared to say anything about a backward hellish communist dictatorship.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, well, if you'd seen my link below and cared to do a basic youtube search, you'd find that your leaders have a lot to say about it. My argument is not that you disagree, but that you have undertaken virtually no research whatsoever and since you've been found out you revert to comporting yourself in a churlish and infantile manner. That doesn't help your argument.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri As for my English, you really need to look in the mirror, or stop using Google translator (another capitalist evil tool) or whatever you're doing. For instance, what is, "Whilst Che Guevara may have gone about things the wrong way in Bolivia, ultimately" After the second time I gave up. Learn to write, please!
farleftloon 5 months ago

In the end, it's not free at all but rather the most expensive health care there is, and second rate at that.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon,oh dear.Cubans ARE paid a wage,it is just low.Are you getting Cuba mixed-up with Cambodia during the genocidal Pol-pot's tenure (who the US sponsored during that time)? If Cuba's health service is 'second rate', perhaps you could explain why has the lowest infant mortality rate in the western world, one of the highest life expectancy rates in the region (only 0.47years lowers than the US) and has the 2nd highest Doctor to patient ratio in the world, after Italy.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Uh, when you talk about infant mortality, do you include all the children who died in the Caribbean trying to reach freedom? Cubans have a low rate of pay??? Uh, like 98% taxation given to the tyrannical government to keep the prisons running, 98% plus forced "volunteer" labor for all that "free" health care? Yeah, keep dreaming.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, so it's gone from 100% taxation to 98% in a day or 2.That should please you. That figure includes ALL infants, yes.Do you have any figures as to how many people have died in the Caribean?Or the 'volunteer' labour?I thought not.You haven't provided any detailed proof of anything you've written, just populist, grnadiloquent statements.
neilfri 5 months ago
Apacheslim,
Where do you do your research? It just seems like you allow your fingers typw away mindlessly. Are you suggesting that perhaps (or perhaps not) one instance of US inspired black propaganda against a Cuban Teacher is supported by the Cuban government?
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Then you have North Korea, another jewel of the communist system. People will actually escape to China, from one very communist country to one that at least allows some American businesses. How about that. McDonald's comes before the assassin Che Guevara and his CRAP! And of course, when the wall came down in Berlin, the west rushed to the east, uhhh . . . Sorry, only you would believe that. The east could not want freedom any sooner, and now finally they can live in freedom.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon North korea isnt a communist country- its a dictatorship. Kim isnt the president (his dead father still is) kim jung is just the head of the party, but he isnt looked at as a God by the north koreans- he is God. to them. "technically" north korea's 'offical' government is a democratic-republic, but we all know thats bullshit
Killerjosh89 5 months ago
Farleftloon,
Incidentally, a further demonstration of how ignorant you are of world events, Communism still exists in China, North Korea and, yes, Cuba, to name but 3 countries.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri When did I say communist countries do not exist? Are you delusional with reading too much Granma? What does not exist anymore is the 200 to 300 million souls communists have murdered, mostly their own people. Instead of your silly propaganda, let the drumbeat of the masses tells us who is right. People swim, go through sharks, and risk Castron's bullets to get out of Cuba. No one is rushing to leave Miami to go get that "free health care" where you pay 100% taxes, but it's FREE!
farleftloon 5 months ago
@neilfri But the thing I don't get is why is someone like you so freaking blinded. You have at your fingertips what the regular Cuban citizen will never see: INFORMATION. Right here on Youtube you can find videos of Castron in his mansion eating foreign foods and enjoying life like a grand capitalist. You'll find videos of white rich tourists enjoying beaches where the common Cuban cannot go in, unless they're there to wipe the capitalists shoes. Are you that brainwashed to reality?
farleftloon 5 months ago
@neilfri Right here on YT you'll find four videos on how little girls have become prostitutes for the tourists in that paradise the despot has created. And this while having trade with the whole world except the U.S. How can you sleep at night and defend this system. Your arguments are the same ones I've read a hundred times. Yet in Cuba still there is no freedom of religion, no unions, no gun ownership unless you work for the dictator, no freedom of expression, no freedom to leave the country!
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, Why is gun ownership important?Everyone knows it results in more violence,as in the US.You have 'information' in the US,but believe your government never lies and the CIA doesn't disseminate disinformation worlwide,e.g.when arguiing for illegal wars in Iraq/Afghanistan.You're very selective with video evidence you promote (where is it?).Prostitution is far more common in the US,in places like Detroit, where 3rd world conditions are apparent.
neilfri 5 months ago
The US refuses to allow people to visit or do business in Cuba because it wants to control Cuba, as it did during the Batista dictatorship, for whom the US provided great support, despite his gross mistreatment of his people. It's obvious why the vile US tyrant abuses Cuba, despite the latter using the same political methods as China (who the US enjoys doing business with and loses no sleep over this fact!),because Cuba is small and weak.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Ha! As I said, I heard it all before many times. Funny how one of the four words you use over and over is CIA. You sound like Castro, who has blamed everything on the CIA, Sarah Palin and Mickey Mouse. I wish Cuba took responsibility for their mess. Since you don't address anything I said other than what seems easy to you, gun control, I'll keep repeating it. When Cuba opened the door during Mariel, the dictator lost almost the entire island. Even he was surprised and had to stop it.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon You may hate, envy, or whatever the USA, but to this day Cubans keep trying to make it over here. And no, it's not rich Cubans, there's only one and that's the despot in his mansion. You may hate us and our presidents, but we can change course every four or eight years. The blood thirsty dictator in his mansion has been there over half a century. He came with lies saying he was not a communist and was not interested in power. LIES! No one in Cuba likes him but they are afraid!
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, you should also consider these wise words:
youtube.com/watch?v=I1FoZyRIDFE&feature=related
neilfri 5 months ago
@farleftloon,on one hand you say "you must learn communist doctrine and be brainwashed",on the other that all Cubans hate Castro and want to leave Cuba. These statements don't correlate. You've "heard it all before" about the CIA because it's true,it's simply that you don't want to believe it,again reflected in the fact that you only respond to 'gun control'(and even then very lightly). You don't consider that banning all companies from doing business with Cuba would hurt it's economy.Interesting.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Yes, you MUST learn communist doctrine! Or in your world that just does't happen in communist countries. Again, right here available for your red fingertips, video of kids acting like little soldiers reciting how great Fidel (sitting in his mansion) is. But what you don't get and probably never will, is that while the government brainwashes, people intrinsically (that means naturally) know better. They may say Viva comandante, while flipping the despot the finger behind their backs.
farleftloon 5 months ago
In the mean time, in the US, people make fun of their government all day long. Movies are made against any American war, one was made on Bush's assassination. Comedians mock and criticize politicians, people write books and columns. Cartoons, sitcoms, novelas, newspapers, you name it! Now try that in Cuba and see how long before a bullet lands in your head, or when all you see are the four walls of a jail. JUST TRY IT!
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, there is good reason why people all over the world make fun of your governments and those who support them.
neilfri 5 months ago
@neilfri Please stop it with the CIA. You write all this crap and hate without much fear of the big bad CIA, or FBI. I guess they're not as bad as having a chivato (that means spy) literally on every corner, like the despot (in his mansion) had to do. I guess the people adore him so much the dictator had to spy on them and feel the love.
Ha! This is too easy.
farleftloon 5 months ago
@farleftloon, stop with the CIA as you can't answer any of it,which alone proves that your country is far more brutal than Cuba/any other power in history, has ever been? Yes.So you haven't read anything recently about Dick Cheney authorising spying on American citizens? Seems not. You're picking and choosing what you want to answer because your argument is baseless.I ask again, what do you think of previous US governments carrying out medical experiments on unwitting US citizens.
neilfri 5 months ago
Farleftloon,
See my notes below for education on US 'humanity' and 'killing and murdering those who disagree'. You have conducted no research into this matter. You are someone who is incapable of forming an opinion without someone telling you how it should be.You harp on about freedom but your media is one of the most biased in the world (e.g. Fox news), until the 1970s 1000s of individuals from the US indian population were being forcibly sterilized, the US bans americans from visiting Cuba.
neilfri 5 months ago
Human rights atrocities committed or supported by America; e.g. Muy Lai, support for murderous Nicaraguan government forces (1980s), installing dictatorships worldwide, support for South African apartheid, widespread support in Latin America for Operation Condor, illegal wars in Iraq/Afghanistan and subsequent cover-ups of further abuses conducted by US soldiers, bombing Paraguay and Guatemala because they wanted to control their own resources, etc, support for Cuban terrorism and drug smuggling.
neilfri 5 months ago
The level of intellect and research ability of all those who oppose Castro here is quite telling given that their argument generally can't go past "shut up... you talk sh*t" (this includes you apacheslim). Cubans live in poverty because the ugly, evil American empire forbid all American businesses and foreign businesses wishing to do business in America from working in Cuba. To those who oppose him, please provide examples of how he has been 'evil'.
neilfri 5 months ago

America: I love you, you have done more for humanity than any country of system, most of all by ending Communism around the world.
farleftloon 5 months ago 10
Fidel the Fat one in one of his mansions speaks to the super rich who come visit him, like Hollywood stars. He knows nothing abotu poverty and has killed more people one can count. Of course, communism as a whole has murdered from 200 to 300 humans, many of these their own citizens.

Too bad all these blinded by communism don't get that their praises to the killer Castro will not be read by Cubans, since the despot controls everything while living in a mansion and keeping political prisoners in jail.
Matthew7six 5 months ago 42

TheLafranyie 5 months ago

McDago100 6 months ago
@McDago100 Hey bro fidel was a great savior of cuba bro. Now if he wouldnt have ordered our companies to refine russias oil then we would still be cool perhaps cuba would be an allie. And as for fidel, you shouldnt have been so stuck up russias ass. We know you are a good man but you are to close to us to be fucking with the russians to tuff. We wouldv gave you everything man. Usa is not a forgiving country so give it up bro. U get one chance to be trusted
TheEagpro2 6 months ago
@TheEagpro2 Please repeat. Look up Huber Matos and see how forgiving Fidel is. He had his soldiers guarding American owned oil fields in Angola, from being attacked by American government supported rebels. Look at his having General Ochoa shot! And for what? Trumped up charges that his own intelligence staff is guilty of. He's no worse than a lot of other dictators, but our foreign policy here is ridiculous.
McDago100 6 months ago
@McDago100
But ofcourse you make up for this with big tvs and fastfood outlets and shows like jersey shore.

eddiemperor 6 months ago
@apacheslim Well, i think its time for you to go on youtube and do a little more research on your view of how cuba is doing. Cuba may get free education but there are many people starving, cubans prostituting themselves with foreigners fo a plate of food and to feed their family. Journalists, men and women in prisons treated like dogs for opposing political views. Yes, corruption of gov`t exists everywhere, but the inhumane situation in Cuba surpasses many other countries. --Camilo Camilo
taurusnbr1 5 months ago
@taurusnbr1
There arent people starving there. they dont have as much crap to eat as you probably do but a government cant give free education and free health care and yet having people starve. They come after food. The only people in prisons there are criminals or people who have tried to undermine the cuban government with the US's help aka scholarships from US institutions where they can incite animosity in cuba and chaos like so many times in the past.
apacheslim 5 months ago
@apacheslim Not true at all, anyone who opposes the system will quickly be thrown into jail. Also, yes they give free education with many teachers who have been caught working with police officers to prostitute students to tourists. ur right, they dont have as much crap to eat as much as you and i, they are limited to very small fixed portions of food to feed big families. If the people want more food they have to buy it which is something that is impossible when theres NO money.
