Um, this is the quality of teaching you will get at this, um, overpriced university, um, just so, um, the fact that you graduated, um, from here, um , will make your prestige, um, outweigh your, um, comprehension and understanding, um, so that, um, your ego, um, masks your, um, lack of comprehension, um.... i pay 6k a year for schooling and learn so much more than what all these lectures teach. It's not about the school, its about if you want to learn. prestige is for those who love, UM, oh nvm
for all you people talking about the lecturer, nobody is perfect. I understood what he was saying. Also, I only understand VB and actionscript and i got what he said.
@Captnuendo I understand he may be the best ooper out there or whatever.. umm, but umm. If you can't make someones brain feel like what they are hearing is stimulating, um, umm , umm, everything will just mold into disorganized boredom with no change in tone or events to kinda place them in memory better. UM. UM. I'm sure this was amazing for those who already understand this stuff, and made perfect sense. UM, but consider those less understanding of it than us? UM
I am studying OOP in visual studio 2008. Does anyone know if the syntax is the same between 2005 and 2008 editions? I was reading about oop but the tutor was using vs2005? Any help would be great.

Do you think you could say 'umm' one more time. So unprofessional to use uncoloquial terminology during a lecture to college students. If I had a beer for every 'hmm' I'd be drunk off my 'tail'.
i like the 2 ppl that were completely confused. He could have used a more intuitive example than "pigger" to inherit from the person class... poor freshman.
Why use scheme to teach OOP? Scheme is primarily a functional programming language.
I can understand them using scheme, since it is simple and basic to learn since i have used LISP, but what other programming languages do they/would use?
what is up with the "1999" keyboard he is using?
CS instructors need to be more interesting because this is kind of boring. funny how he used "would you please study hard" as an argument.
I'm using IBM's "Click keyboard" (Model M), from the end of 1995, and the original design is fro 1984.
Why? Because it's THE* keyboard. (plus it sounds as if you're typing faster - 1 push * 2 clicks)
THE=Standardized, you don't make a lot of mistakes - ie very hard to push 2 buttons in the same time, and if you miss a key (literally miss it), you can be almost sure that nothing was typed.
Wow, I didn't know I was so enthusiastic about it :-)
I loved those keyboards. I used to have one myself with my 8086 IBM machine.
The only new keyboards that are a challenge for it are the new keyboards from Apple. It is easy to type fast with them as they have a shallower pressed state.

I agree. I don't get along with lecturers who fall back on 'umm' for every few seconds of thought.
