This planet has always gone through warm and cold cycles. Who ever thought that the sun, which isn't constant in temperature, actually contributes to the rising and falling of temperatures on earth? @tulsaguy1974 Yes there is a natural cycle of warming, but the current warming is exponentially higher than the natural cycle do to measurable increases in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Rising carbon dioxide levels is not a part of the natural cycle. Some melting is to be expected, but not as much as there is now.

The problem is progression... Yes animal extinction has Occured for millions of years.. But the rate at which it has happened over a mere 100 years or moreso the last 50 years is scary. This planet has always gone through warm and cold cycles. Who ever thought that the sun, which isn't constant in temperature, actually contributes to the rising and falling of temperatures on earth? The truth is, this profit based system we live in encourages and rewards the destruction of earth and it's materials. @tulsaguy1974 Yes there is a natural cycle of warming, but the current warming is exponentially higher than the natural cycle do to measurable increases in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Rising carbon dioxide levels is not a part of the natural cycle. Some melting is to be expected, but not as much as there is now.

...and when there are unknowns some assumptions have to be made. The emails I've read seem to focus on whether the assumptions and adjustments that went into some of the climate models were wrong, but that's hardly malicious. I'm sure there are mistakes in the models, but the evidence is overwhelming that the earth is warming faster than even these less-than-perfect models predicted. Have you seen the melting ice caps? Or do you just believe the Fox News/ Republican/ corporate talking points?

We are currently in the "Sweet spot" ie: (Just the right distance) that allows life. But with the heating and expansion of the sun, We are already 90% through the "Sweet spot" by some estimates.
This is the real global warming. Not caused by CO2, but the sun.

our sun does nothave the mass to nova. it willemerge as a red giant and the earth (what's left of it) will be near the surface

Our star (The Sun) dictates the climate on every planet in our small solar system.
Even a world government, global carbon tax and mass hysteria can't change that. We must take care of our planet but we also must not waste time, money and effort on problems that aren't there.
