most of the stuff you mention is either on the way or hasn't be implemented. If you're going to spend all that money on a phone you should at least have mostly all of this and then some not having to wait until they do upgrades on the fly for you to get this stuff that already came with my phone thats all i'm saying and thats why i say its over rated and bloated another Apple marketing scheme. They make good computers because i have one but phones no.

2 items are on the way. The rest are working. Belive me, I own one. I am a experienced smart/pocket pc user. My last phone was a Seimens sx66. The iphone (to me) is what a phone should be. I know alot of people HATE apple, i understand why, but this phone is hands down the best smartphone i have ever used (form and functionality wise). Just my opinion.

In order to have turn by turn nav you NEED GPS moron. And as far as turn by turn stock, I was wrong, its coming via third party app after the 2.1 firmware.

Well it's been a month. It is now 2.1 on my iphone 3G.

I have no turn by turn navigation.

no cut and paste.

No radio tuner.

No bluetooth for useful things like in car calling.

No flash/java

I personaly do not care about any of these aside from Turn by turn navigation. I feel let down tbh, i could have just got a tom tom for £50 rather than this for £100.

My advice to potntial buyers is simply don't buy it unless you want it for the gadget factor.

you just have to jailbreak it using a free downloadable program called ZiPhone

You just have to wait till Monday for the 3G iPhone...It's almost here..It is not hard to unlock an iPhone using ZiPhone. All it takes is like three clicks and you're ready to go.

3g is the speed of the phone not the size, the rumor is that the 3g iphones are gonna have 16 gigs and 32 gig versions. But the current iphone is perfectly fine, and wont be outdated for a good while.

A couple of years go when I bought my 8525 phone I got the 40 % military discount and I loved every minute of it. But I'll find out if they still have it for 40 %. I'm pretty sure they should have some kind of military discount.

The iPhone hacker community out there have already unlocked the beta version of the iPhone 2.0 that was released to developers so I'll give it no more than 2 weeks before someone hacks the final version. They are pretty fast.

3G is the speed at which the data is transferred. The current iPhone uses 2.5G which is equal to dial-up internet. the 3G iPhone will of course use 3G which is equal to DSL.

I think the 3G iPhone is very likely also in the UK contract prices went down and the iPhone is now difficult to get hold of. Only thing that has stopped me getting an iPhone is waiting for 3G. It will be great not having to carry a phone and an iPod when I travel
