Lenin, Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kaganovich, Stalin, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Jan Beukelszoon, Jan Matthys, John Calvin, Martin Luther, Thomas Muenster....Different in degree, not in kind.
@oneyouh8 Too bad for you, the church you just saw blown up was rebuilt by popular support of the Russian people. The government did not help, it was built again completely by donations of the people.
-A persons faith is their own business and none of my concern. It's the places they build to worship in, that turn my stomache. Why spend Millions of dollars on buildings that serve little purpose? We should tear 'em down and build homeless shelters. Worship at home, don't make it a public display. It pisses off the folks in the smaller churches....and that's how Wars start.
@oneyouh8 Obviously this is not the place to debate religion and atheism, but to make a short point, isn't that argument similar to saying that since people in places ravaged by drought often fight over water, we should get rid of all bodies of water so that there would be no conflict? Obviously I don't consider churches useless because ceremonies that are vital to my faith are performed in them. If that makes other people jealous (which makes no sense) thats not my fault.
@AGDIRGIA No, we should find ways to bring clean water to all in need. That is vital. Faith is personal. I perform ceremonies in the comfort of my own home all the time. I venture out and attend a celebration at various public theatres and event centers around the country. Jealousy is a monsterous thing when religion is in the mix, that's all I'm sayin.
@oneyouh8 I certainly can understand and appreciate your position. I just think that destroying churches is not good from any standpoint. If people choose to get together and build a church, they can.
@AGDIRGIA I still can't help but smile when a church falls prey to Mother Nature. Build what you want, it won't make a difference to the man behind the curtain. He's already created his temple, it's called Earth. None of our efforts will ever top that. The least we can do is keep the place clean, in hopes he makes an appearance some day?
@oneyouh8 I disagree with that, but you can have your opinions if you want. Anyway, I'm not jealous of other people's places of worship, and they shouldn't be jealous of mine.

Ah, good ole Communists. The Democrats in the USA are doing the same thing, they're just a lot more subtle about it.

@oneyouh8 Why? I understand if you don't believe. It doesn't make any difference to me. I just wonder why you want to destroy everyone else's faith.
