when he first opened his mouth and sang "it was an evening i shared with the" (sounded like the record), but after that it was downhill. that was about the only good vocals for this performance. i'm a huge LIVE fan, but this shit sucked! the music was good, though

I got agree with you. This was not one of his best versions of Lakini's juice But I heard Ed singing this song since 1997 till now. Sometimes he changes the style of the song where it really sounds great and sometimes so and so. Maybe he was burned out for singing it so many times Listen to different versions of this song. You'll see that he kicks ass in general.

I still vividly remember how Ed Kowalczyk guided me to that creative inferno in 1992 with Mental Jewelry. The album cover attracted me -- a burning cross in the background with Ed folding his arms and seemingly letting go all the angst, pain, and separation of a disenchanting world. But once that music played in my ears for the first time, it became infectious. Along with U2 and STP, they're genuinely authentic. There's no one out there who sounds like Live. Spiritually uplifting lyrics.

This song is awesome. I saw LIVE in '06 at House of Blues; they played for at least 3 hours, and they were having such a great time together, and sounded awesome. One of the best shows I've ever seen of anyone.

I think that's because real attitude reflects in music. I think in the old days he really was pissed off about something. But now he has everything he wants and is content - so that reflects in his voice, even in the angry songs.
