  • so i saw soundgarden when they came to seattle (it was actually eastern washington, but whatever) and i really really love soundgarden but almost everyone in the crowd was SO misogynistic. im a 16 year old girl and like every guy would either try and feel me up agressivly or they would scream that i would get killed in the mosh pit because i was a girl etc. i held my own. but i was wondering if this has happend to any other girls at soundgarden concerts? (it happend to my female friends too)

  • @zoidsvstherichies i think that just comes with the territory. i'm sorry about that. it probably happens to most girls at any grunge show.

  • Cornell Killed this song at Red Rocks on the 18th. Fucking loved it!!!! Sounded like he was 20 again!!! Soundgarden For Life!!!

  • @sirfortiscue

Can't wait 3 days till the Gorge!!!!

  • @sirfortiscue i was there mayn...at first i thought his voice was shot early on...but then these earlier gems hit and he nailed it...i actually wanted to cry

  • una delas bandas mas chingonas de los 90s

  • la mejor banda chingona de los 90s

  • @ 1:35-fly on the mic!

  • i saw Soundgarden in 89 and 91, best shows i ever attended

  • There used to be this amazing version of nothing to say on youtube and the bass was ridiculous high in the mix so it was heavy as fuck, alas i can no longer find it :(

  • is that matt cameron drumming? i didnt know he ever had hair that long

  • fucking beast vocals

  • chris cornell sucks. just kidding.

  • nothing...

  • I can't get over how Chris Cornell can wail like that.

  • 3:36!!!

  • @mojox7

that was a fuckin scream! just awesome!!!

  • fantastic song

  • This song sounds exactly like Slaves and Bulldozers...I love Slaves and Bulldozers. =)

  • i was just thinking that, the basslines almost the same

  • i wasnt even born, sick

  • Come visit a forum I started: soundgarden.yuku for discussion about SG with other fans.

Web address does not include w w w

  • pass the dutch

  • Damn..Look at 1) how much slower, and as a result, heavier the song gets at 1:24, AND 2) how much more Cornell's voice matured over what? 2 years. Amazing song.

  • well

    there HE is

    then

    now

    and always

  • Dude Please upload The LA in 88, I need to see the hole thing man :D He was so good there!!

  • Fuckin metal!!!

  • No one can match his voice

  • I love these guys because their music was REAL grunge. They weren't the typical I-suck-so-bad-at-music-all-I-can-do-is-scream-like-an-idiot grunge band, but a real damn good grunge band. Good melodies, awesome psychedelic riffs, and even more important: well tuned high pitched shouts.

Particulary this song: I love it. Haunting.

  • haha ya most of the underground grunge bands just yelled their guts out wich was a good release of stress and fun for moshing but not listening =P

  • agreed, word by word.

  • holy crap!

  • Need I mention...great hair!

  • i wish i had long hair like chris!!!!!!!!!!!

  • unbelievable vocal range!

    chris is amazing!

    keep rockin' out chris!

  • agreed!

  • I saw this tour, i was 17. They came out to beyond the wheel. It changed my perception of what good was. It was the height of glam fakery. I thank them for making me a better musician. Such a great time, name one band that came out in the 2000's that is this good or close. All you kids out there, study this. There is so much more out there than current state of music. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY SOUNDGARDEN!!!!!!!!! Matt Cameron is the best of his time.

  • Truly one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • soundgarden probably stand the test of time better than most the bands of that era

regarding your question wether theres a good band comin out in the 2000's thats in anyway close to soundgarden quality in my opinion theres one-queens of the stone age

i think they r worthy successors. they have that great combination of killer pop-rock tunes along with some depth some definite experimental stuff+ a great vocalist

  • matt cameron the drummer was a cornell music school stud and huge part of that sound. tasty gravy style. thanks.

  • imeant cornish musc scholl oops.

  • Holy shit - I'm flashbacking!! The London segment reminds me of the first time I saw Soundgarden "open" for Faith No More and Voivod. Cornell's vocals are fucking dead on if not better than the original recording and this slower version of Nothing to Say kicks fucking ass! Thanks for posting!

  • Holy Beavis, the London version is awesome! The slower version just made this song much heavier!

  • Oh, Jason is playing now.

  • That's actually Hiro Yamamoto playing bass. The way he plays reminds me of Bauhaus. He is cool. I love the comment about chris's genetic disorder lol!

  • No, Ben Sheperd it´s better.

  • I liked Jason Everman's casual approach to bass playing... and tuning.

  • really love the old school soundgarden =)

  • Holy jesus the second part of this clip is amazing. Do you have the whole song/other songs from that set?

  • Amazing vocal extension

  • ye can tell just by lookin at them they really enjoy playin their own music...there has to be some amount of satisfaction in that!

  • they were so far ahead of everyone else. jesus, 1988? this is a themesong for like 1998, shit even 2008, not 1988.

  • I always thought they were a good 5-10 years ahead of their time, even at the height of the Grunge era. Makes me wonder if their success (perhaps commercial, perhaps cult following) would have been greater had they come out later.

  • 3:36 - 3:44: How did THAT come out of a HUMAN body?!?

  • He's not human. He's not real. He's a god.

  • Simple. Cornell has a rare genetic disorder that causes his lungs produce helium instead of carbon dioxide.

  • THIS SONG IS GENIUS MAN

  • yeaarrghhh!

  • this song simply kicks ass

if I had been old enough to go to that concert, I probably wouldn't have enough brain cells to be in grad school right now.

  • hahaha amen brother.

  • this is one of my favorite soundgarden's songs it has the perfect sabbath/Zeppelin influence

  • Best thing about the early grunge is their influences

  • O.K. Thanks. One thing I personally liked about Down on the Upside though was Ben Shepherds increased input.

  • And by downhilling you refer to his muscle growth, his sickness?, or his ability to...what?

  • I fucking looooooooooooove chris cornell.

  • me tooo!!!!

  • The only good thing to come from the 80's. Wow this is great footage!!!!

  • ok. fyi. there r a lot more good things that came from the 80's, like the syle of clothes, the music, and just everything

  • Just everything. You're correct. But one of these days search, here on you tube, LINDA MARTINI - "Este mar" or Dá-me a tua melhor faca". Hope you like (not like you like Cornell, but i'm not expecting that).

  • okay i will

  • damn i wish i was there ..

too bad i was born 89!..

    YO FUCK MY GENERATION!...

nothing good coming from this "i pod loving-texters-scene looking motorFuckers "

    worst generation...

  • COMPLETELY AGREED! Try having LONG hair and see how our generation acts. Ill tell a they dont like it or accept it all.. But i could give a shit

  • I know. Everyone is supposed to wear ball tightenin jeans or baggy jeans. And you're supposed to either have scene kid hair or short hair.

Our generation alienates those who prefer not to conform to what society has deemed "hip".

  • amazing environment there...

  • fantastici

  • Such an amazing singer!

  • temazooooooooooooooooooo

  • OMG!! I love this early footage!

  • And to think I was dizzy in a hair band phase during that period. I WISH MTV would have been brave enough to play music THIS heavy at that time (even though they EVENTUALLY started Headbanger's Ball. lol)

  • I've been looking for a LOOOONG time for a live version of this. Thanks!

  • one of my fav's it's soo heavy drws so much comparison to black sab in this song, the heaviness of it

  • this is the best song from soundgarden!!!! thanks for uploading:)

  • i love this song but what does he mean nothing but a rosey?????

  • Someone said my words are out of balance

Nothing to say, you've got nothing to say

    Dying words I bury everyday

Nothing to say, I've got nothing to say

    Nothing but the one thing

  • Now THIS, is ROCK....

  • love the early raw SG!!!!
