  • Thanks for serving us with this man. It's a blessing you would help us out. Good stuff :) May God bless you and bring you closer to Him through Christ Jesus :) He is the risen Lord and King!!!

  • How do you get buses to work without being in record mode? no sound comes to them

  • THANKS MAN! You sved my time, money and nerves :D

  • Thanks for posting this; not enough coverage on this subject, but I still have a mental block regarding the I/O path selectors. Could you do a vid that shows a step by step method for input THEN output setups? I get confused with assigning the plugin to the tracks intended. Thanks broski

  • @funney61303349 what? i don't know what a turbo boosted processor is. you're asking the wrong person for that kind of stuff.

  • Thanks for the tutorial, buddy. After a few weeks using Pro Tools 9, I still couldn't quite grasp what the hell is. This video helps me out a bunch. I appreciate that!

  • good tutorial dude! What plugins did you use in the vid and are they free?

  • @ooProduction all the plugs i was usings came with the pro tools package that i got with the interface. if you are looking for free plugs check out dontcrack(.)com

  • @brandothebrother THANKS MAN--

  • THANKS MAN-- I APRRECIATE THAT GOOD TUTORIAL

  • @ooProduction most of them i got with a bundle when i bought my digidesign interface which is the 003+ Factory

  • thanks bro... but im using duet interface,do u thinks is good?

  • @shumo4 i hear really great things about their A/D converters though i've never used one.

  • hey bro... wats up? listen i need ur help plz,i just install pro tools 8.o.5 n when i try to open it,its say unable to locate avid hardware, n i dont know wats that? plz help me thanks

  • @shumo4 you need a digidesign or avid interface to be able to use any version of pro tools below 9.0

  • so busing is kind of like testing the effects/ or how a certain effect would sound without actually changing the track itself yet? And how'd you get that screen to pop up that lets you navigate each window by going left/ right? Thanks

  • @pawndominance1 it's not for testing, that's how they are used when mixing effects. it's useful for adding just a "touch" of reverb or other effects. the changing screens thing is called "spaces" for mac, i use CONTROL+(any arrow) to move around the different window spaces.

  • @brandothebrother I mean like testing the effects to see how they would sound--is "spaces" an app or something?

  • @brandothebrother ok so the only reason for busing is to make it easier/ quicker to add/ take away certain affects to a track? (other than the 2nd half of ur vid)

What would be the diff between just inserting the reverb into the violin track?

  • @pawndominance1 to answer your question about "spaces" for mac, it's part of Mac OSX, it's not an app. there are many many reasons for using busses. putting an effect as an insert could very well work, but historically inserts have been only used with dynamic effects and other effects where you want completely change the sounds without preserving the original signal. it depends on the plugin wether or not it has a mix parameter where you can change the signal from wet to dry.

  • @pawndominance1 furthermore, you can send multiple track signals to the same reverb plugin with a single bus. Like, if you wanted the snare and the vocal to have the same reverb sound. the possibilities you have with using busses is absolutely endless. i encourage you to read more about it in a recording basics book or something similar.

  • great vid. big help

  • @pmduke06 cool man. let me know if you want me to make a videos about anything else.

  • need someone's help, I keep getting initialize properly 0x0000005. What do I have to do to get rid of it???

  • i was wondering if u can make one from scratch!i dont understand it this way. one with up to at least 7 channesl one for da instrumental and 6 for vocal recordings.just 6 aux tracks.thank you for ur time.

  • the problem with pro tools tutorials is its just a screen image of a session and some voiceover. So you spend your time trying to picture whats being explained....why don't you just show a picture? A nice track with knobs and alsorts, big fuck off SEND and an arrow pointing away. Big fuck off BUS and lots of lines going into it.

  • can you please tell me how to get my tracks to visually look like a wave form because I accidentally clicked something and now my tracks just appear as thin lines

  • @JackMac1968 you could be in automation view for one of your parameters (volume, pan, etc.). in your edit window go to one of the tracks and under the track name and the record arm, solo and mute buttons there's a dropdown menu. change that to "waveform".

let me know if that works.

  • oh, my god!! did you ever tried cubase??? you never want to go back to this crap. :-))) but everyone makes his own choices.

  • @whiteaxxxe i've used nuendo and i really liked it. but i got a good discount on the PT system because i passed one of their certification tests. plus i got the complete production toolkit so i have a lot HD functions available.

  • You could record and mix your beat till it's to your liking then bounce it down then reimport it and then track your vox. I did a bachelors degree at Ohio university excellent school and awesome audio programs I went for audio post

  • you could mix your basic tracks or music to a stereo track and the you'd only be using 2 voices (digi term). for plug-in resource management, you could use "send automation". that way it'll only send to the aux when you want it to.

i went to full sail university (still going actually, for a masters)

  • after i track a beat out how can i record vocals without running out of tracks and using so many plug ins i want to use one set of plug ins for the hook and send them to a bus? where did you go to school for a year at i think its time i do the same
