  • is that green guy retarded?

  • When you do raw CR right, you should look younger than your real age, and should be trim and muscular. This guy is doing something wrong!

  • I've almost fked off the coffee too. :)

  • Nice Harley. I was surprised that Thai people eat so much. I want to change my diet to be more like theirs, for sure. At the moment I'm vegetarian and hardly raw at all.

  • 7:12 LOL

  • i lost my mind laughing at 8:36, this guy is really starving for real

  • poor man. he looks so ill. he can barely get his words out. did you manage to get through to him>??? does he know realise his mistakes?

  • @wineguzzeller

I doubt you could reason with the man. He looks half barmy. His mind is made up.

  • poor man. he looks so ill. he can barely get his words out.

  • Holy balls. Get that dude about 30 mango's ASAP!

  • Jason is such a nice guy. Thanks for helping him.

  • I really like your stuff and in my case, you're wrong about rice, It's a big chemistry lab inside and can mix badly in certain humans. I'm listening to these videos in the evening. Hoping for a miracle. I really enjoy how pure you are.

  • "Your body is forcing you to stay up to find more calories". Really cool way to put it

  • It looked like you were about to say "to get your dick up" at the Viagra part. Good save.

  • just found your videos after following liferegenerator on youtube for a few months now, safe to say i'll be back to watch you again tomorrow as I am falling deeper and deeper into the raw fruits and veg message, however I have not heard much on calorie intake up until now and thanks to your videos im starting to feel informed so will like to return to learn more, love the energy, love the message :)

  • One thing is CALORIC RESTRINGTION and another very different is ANOREXIA, I think this video is more close to tract about anorexia.

  • @adrygarcia they both lead to each other so they aren´t that diffrent at all.

  • Dear god, you can tell he's even losing his mind. Nor sugar=no glycogen=no mind. I'm crying looking at this.

  • My heart goes out to this man and to everyone that have these horrible disorders.. thank you for making this video.. and I pray that it will be able to help many people see the state they are in and beginning to follow what is right, what God intended was for us to be healthy and fit and to be able to eat the most amazing foods.. but whatever you believe, eat as much fruit and veggies as you care for, you will never get fat. Just skip the fat and your good, the fat you eat the fat you wear.

  • 1000-1200 calories a day is less than what the Nazis fed prisoners in Auschwitz.

  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat peoples!!!!!

  • I will point out that science does show that calorie restrictive diets do increase longevity by slowing down an individuals metabolism. It's been studied time and time again, but this is on the EXTREME end, and it seems as though he's not getting all the nutrition he needs. Usually someone going on a calorie restrictive diet will still get 1000 to 1200 calories a day or so, and almost all of those calories will be extremely nutrient dense and well thought out

  • Harley Durian Rider master of crazy analogies :) Great video. I hope Jason, and lots of other peeps make the best out of this.

  • I went crazy for a good year with eating a bunch of fatty food such as: almonds, cashews, peanuts, pistachios, walnuts, etc

my body eventually after a year was like 'enough' and just told me to stop it; now I can only eat those chocolate almonds (extra carbs added)

what does my body not get tired of? Blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, juice, potatoes, waffles with a lot of 100% maple syrup, corn, honey.... in other words carbs; however, I'm still 4 pounds underweight and need to eat more carbs

  • @aquatiger1987 + rice, kiwi's, strawberries, etc.... I don't like apples and oranges too much anymore though; they're just too bland for me (I stick with the orange and apple juice); I used to love green grapes, but they just don't taste the same anymore; perhaps it's those pesticides or something of some sort making them taste worse

  • @aquatiger1987 Add in some flax seeds and sesamy seeds, they are high in fat but they are quite good for you, especially flax.. and you don`t need that many either.. although healthy exercise is good too.. considered doing some weight lifting?

  • What a nice guy! And how brave to agree to Harley filming and commenting. Thumbs up to you Jason.!!

  • He must be laughing because on some level he knows what he is saying is ludicrous. So sad.

  • Man this guy looks like he is going to collapse, he speaks so slowly because his brain is deprived of necessary fluids like water. This guy needs to wake up.

  • In all honesty tho... in lots of ways it is not the fat that makes people fat.. it is the sugar... your body requires a certain amount of fat in a day...even saturated fat...or brain function doesnt work correctly... refined sugar is the devil...its in every low fat foot. People should just eat properly... raw fruit and veg... oils and nuts for fat and No fake sugar!

  • @ambyglam that's not a fact ambyglam. I am 6'3" and weigh 165 lbs. I love fruit and eat plenty of natural sugars like coconut palm sugar, vegan baked products with plenty of good sugars. tons of fruits including tons of dates. first, you have to get your metabolism in order. the body is carbon-based. simple sugars from fruit build the blood best. best wishes from california US.

  • @pecorskuwitz its a pity you didnt really read my statement properly instead of defending yourself over a mis read comment. what point did i say natural fruit sugars were bad? If you re-read it...it says... refined sugar and fake sugar... I said eat plenty of raw fruit and veg... I'll wait for your appolgy lolllllll...xx

  • @ambyglam gotcha I do apologize.....I don't eat refined sugars although some do slip past the goalie. I stick to either date sugar or turbinado. I am fortunate as I've always been slender and athletic. I think gaining weight is a complicated matter. Peace and I'm sorry for skimming over your entry!

  • @mikecazzx He is a devotee of Viktoras Kulvinskas. Viktoras teaches that breatharianism is healthy and that sweet fruit damages ones health.

  • Wheres part 2???

  • i do apologise . I see the subject Jason as such a sweet man, I can see in his eyes and the way he speaks he would not hurt a fly, that is why I am upset by this edit.

Lord knows there's got to be a better way to get a message across than to hurt one another. peace.

  • drinking water is like breathing air.. just vital

  • Where is part 2? Where did you meet this guy?

  • Dam you are hot!

  • I love the way you present the information. If people are going to take this stuff seriously the raw vegan movement needs to move away from all the spiritual nonsense and just present the clear, logical, scientific benefits of eating this way. Keep making the vids Harley, you're a legend!

  • Jason looks really sick

  • Hi Harley!! I'm trying to understand the 80 10 10 raw vegan diet but I still have some questions that keep me from followin' it entirely. What's wrong with all the whole grains, legums, etc. You can still have a 80 10 10 diet including these foods, can't you? Why wouldn't you eat whole cereals, bread, legums, etc. They're low in fat and relatively low in proteins, and very high in carbs. Please answer this. I'd love to know your opinion! BTW I love your vds, you inspire me.

  • AHAHA! Harley... you're awesome. Period! Wishing you and Freelee a wonderful weekend!

  • @LizYArtur HELL YEA I LOVE HIM!! HE IS AWESOME FOR REAL!!

  • You make good sense as always. The Monarchs eat 1 tiny salad meal a day and some juices & coconut water throughout the day. They are always looking to cut back their intake. I wonder where this will lead in 10 years. Ironically, they just got 2 dogs and are feeding them raw meat. Do you think dogs can be raised vegetarian?

  • I never understood peoples fear of fruit. It's an amazing energy source. I am not a fruitarian by any means but it cracks me up when people say negative things about fruit. It digests almost instantly gives you instant energy and you can eat as much as you want without it affecting your weight.

  • I feel bad for this cat,I think his dietary habit has worn down his firing pin. Take him to dinner man!seriously though, he needs a hand. I eat limited calories but itd the nature of my veggie diet.by that I mean my diet is not overly calorie heavy. Just nice

  • great stuff as always, keep it up

  • Interesting video I must say. Oh, and I like the David Wolfe-esque goatee you've grown! :D

  • Thanks for continuing to call all the liars out on their bullshit Harley. I do definitely feel bad for this poor guy. He's a victim of misinformation. Thanks for spreading the truth and being such a good example

  • i have to admit rice vs fruit as a carb source...

fruit wins hands down in orders of magnitude..

i still train hard on rice.. but i train fucking hard on fruit

  • No this is a MAJORLY important and necessary video and I am happy you made it Durianrider...this man is really truly SICK and people need to see that all this calo restriction and guru crap is REAL. You did a great job of addressing the issues clearly and politely and thank you again for making it!!

  • Nice vid DR.

  • you are soo cute!

  • durian rider is king PERIOD screw all those other gurus and tachers

  • Which nations are they eating bags of fruit each? I am going to travel.

  • I think you are totally right. I have been hurting for money the last couple weeks and have been eating one meal a day. I am not that hungry but I feel like crap. I am probably living on 1000-1500 calories a day not by choice. I did stay vegan of course.

Getting paid today. I will be buying up sacks of oranges, pineapples, bananas and other goodies. I will go back to 5 or 6 meals a day.

  • @zigzigerblat While I cannot say eating all fruit all the time is exciting, I can say eating enough calories will make you satisfied. 1500 calories is really a bare minimum for survival, let alone health.

  • @mikecazzx I am just hurting real bad right now financially. I got paid and bought all fruits and vegetables. In two days I went from acne and aches to clear skin and energy. I swear I was suffering from the beginning signs of scurvy.

Acne, aching teeth, joint pain, connective tissue weakness. Cooking destroys vitamin C. I now know that I must stay raw and as long as I have money eat enough.

  • I have no idea who this man is or how you found him but all I can say is he is in my prayers. You bring out some good points about how restriction = limitation = problems in return. Yes. Also, veganism is not anorexia nervosa and yes some people with anorexia label as vegan but you can question the true motives of many --- are they labeling as vegan because society considers vegan to be low calorie and limiting? or is it truly a heart and soul moral issue. Many use veganism to MASK anorexia.

  • @MyOwnStickFigure You are also very right to say you can't starve or dehydrate yourself to health. This interview saddens me for this man. He seems to have such a sweet soul and pleasant quiet presence to be around... Where did you find him Harley??? I truly hope for renewal of his mind, body and spirit for freedom from restriction. I wish the same for me and all others dealing with eating disorders. Thank you for exposing part of his story, I really wish him the best... sweet man.

  • i hope he at least eats the pumpkin seeds.

    crackao. lol

  • i've thought of this sweet guy all day. altho i could not live on as few calories, i have to say: he's made it this far, he has a very positive non defensive attitude, hella charming and happy go lucky....which is alot more than we can say for many of us on this earth. i hope you find him again and continue your kind conversation.

  • He is adorable. But it's sad. You can tell his head is cloudy from a starving brain. Another victim of our self-harm culture exploited by crooks.

And yeah... veganism is the umbrella term. But there are some hocus-pocus branches of veganism. And it gives amo to people who already are prejudice against vegans. Because then they can say "All vegans are unhealthy" as they had their one confirmation.

Veganism is an ideology manifested by lifestyle. Plant nutrition is healthy. Some people are not.

  • you treated him nicely and respectfully, I appreciate that... that was nice.

  • I wonder if he's poor and can't afford food?,,, and has become anorexic because of that. maybe mentally ill (or both) etc.. it's just really sad.

  • I think you should put the word 'anorexia' in the title so people struggling with it can get some of this important information you shared.

I noticed he has really flat thumbs. I've noticed that on the elderly. I wonder if that's from dehydration or lack of nutrients, or what. (it can't only be from old age because he isn't that old..)

  • Even with eating 2500+ calories and no exercise it is possible to look like Jason. What he claims to eat is not enough at all, you're right. But I don't want us to judge each other by stature. I used to be too thin on fruits and hated the comments... Jason looks like a nice person and I wish him strength and that he finds out how much he needs to thrive.

  • @baum7des7lebens7 Really?? I don't understand why people say they got too thin on fruit. I lost alot of weight on high fat raw and when I went to getting most of my cals from fruit my weight and muscle came back and I feel I'm going to gain more in the future. I am eating about 4000 cals a day right now. When I'm low on fruit I turn to quinoa or potatoes.

  • @82Bdog I didn't say it was the fruits fault. That time I also stopped taking the contraceptive pill which had made me fat before, I didn't do sports and I ate almonds 100-200 grams almost every day (so it wasn't low fat ). That was 12 years ago. Today, I eat more calories and (wild+lettuce)greens, little cooked (bread/pasta/rootvegetables) and rarely nuts and exercise. We can get too thin on any food plan if the body doesn't soak the nutrients up...

  • Part II~ April fools.

  • i don't know, although that guy is thin and has a beard--and society is very afraid of the 'scroungy' look, the 'dread' look-- his skin actually looks pretty radiant and he has a very peaceful vibe..

  • Did you just say that people get into trouble when they read books and take it as 100% truth? But as long as it's by Doug Graham it's fine right? lol...

  • @canadianwargod His advice isn't exactly the same as dr.graham. He doesn't reccomend as many greens but reccommends more calories and more water. Plus he's always talking about new books he' been reading so nice try lol.

  • @82Bdog His advice is a near mirror image of Graham's are you kidding me? He may recommend more exercise than Graham, so there would be a need for more calories, more water, and less room for greens, which is not even a good change in my opinion. Same old basic story though, low fat raw vegan. He may read other books but it's always back to 811 for his advice.

  • @canadianwargod That's because out of all the books he's read he sees 811 as the best for performance and over all health. He's not just reading one book and taking it as truth. Have you ever watched any other videos he's always putting up book reccomendations. Either way if your eating a raw food diet doug graham's approach is the best way by far.

  • April 1th anyone.. is this a joke ?

  • I think it's good that you make a point of anorexia as a problem in contrast to a healthy raw vegan lifestyle, however what do you make of this male individual potentially viewing this video and feeling awful about himself, ashamed etc. ?

  • @thatMarlene maybe he will then realise his mistakes

  • @thatMarlene maybe he will then realise his mistakes

  • Comment removed

  • @thatMarlene I do realize that you want to educate people and under that purpose you take it fairly straight and though which I don't reject. I was saying that earlier because we just don't know what effects this little video might have on the guy. hopefully he'll be encouraged to rethink his attitude towards his life and smooth it down or up, whatever, get healthy. it simply might not be that way however and cause some damage. peace

  • @thatMarlene OK. getting it right now, I listened to the beginning of the vid again. I take it back.

  • @thatMarlene @thatMarlene Your right, I should have just walked passed him and given him ZERO real solutions like the rest of society does. I should have made a vid that supported his health destructive lifestyle.

This video is Jason's 'call to action'. So few people have the guts to step up and say it how it really is. Jason has the discipline but nobody has cared enough to tell him what to do with it. I care more about helping people than being popular.

  • @durianriders I wrote some more comments later on, and meanwhile I'd say I've understood youre real intentions. espcially having watched "raw vegan eats more fruit than anyone in australia and here are his teeth!!" (in the end). to me it's not about whether or not truely helping people, but rather about the .. the art of speech or so. that was what I got hooked up on. whether to show onesself empathetic or instead straight forward and educating.

  • @thatMarlene I think it's all the individual suffering that tends to limit peoples ability of speaking clearly about health to those effected. however, I don't take the point of view that there's no need for real help! don't get me wrong. I didn't get you wrong either by the way, I don't think.

  • @durianriders I agree with what you say here about how the rest of society acts towards individuals who clearly are in need of proper information. Corporate religiosity is slowly eating away at the soul of each individual, in the attempt to satisfy its wallet, than satisfy its fellow man.

I was starving myself, eating WAY too little on a vegan diet, so I upped the calories and feel better already. I hope Jason will be alright, seems like he's having a hard time concentrating ; ;....

  • @durianriders its a good point d-Rider. the guy has the DISCIPLINE, he knows enough to be vegan, but he has a problem ...you can see it in his face/neck. at least he's eating potatoes! there are people worse off than he. -- d-Rider, you are a force of nature! don't go changing any time soon! High-raw vegan athlete in Berkeley, CA. US.

  • Arguably the best video you've posted

  • I like you Harley. Thanx for putting the healthy out there. People are so confuesed when it comes to health. <3 Amanda

  • Poor guy, i hope he will save himself from this anorexia :(

  • I know it's your channel, but any chance you could stop with the herb criticisms? Many people, proven in many studies, are aware of it's healing and blissful qualities. It's actually mother nature's gift to the universe.

  • good video

  • If you get thirsty its already to late lol, I also read book but probably diffrent books then him lmao

  • Don't need a reward, lol, but, sumo wrestlers eat rice to gain weight... There's more to putting on body fat than which macro nutrient is your main calorie source.

  • @SecretsOfLongevity @SecretsOfLongevity Yes, Sumo's eat rice but ONLY when they have had enough of the traditional Sumo meat stew to ensure sufficient fat storage. "Chanko nabe" is a high fat, high protein, low carb stew that is the staple of Sumo's.

  • @durianriders Makes sense, yeah, but it's also made with a tons of rice noodles, without the rice noodles do you think it would still put on the same amount of weight or is there something occurring with the fat-carb combination that's your point in their weight gain (and the standard American diet weight gain).

  • @SecretsOfLongevity They eat carbs so they have the daily glycogen to train hard. They eat all that animal fat/protein to store it as fat/fluid retention. Put a sumo on just meat and he will still be fat but wont be able to train daily. Put him on just rice and he will be able to train the hardest but will get too lean and ripped.

Rice is too light in fat for the body to make fat. The fat we eat is the fat we wear. The carbs we eat becomes the glycogen for our brain, muscles and cells.

  • @durianriders I were also thinking about the average chinese they eat lots of rice even for breakfast and they're very slim indeed.

Apropos sumowrestlers I've heard they eat lots of food to bulk up but to keep the weight on they don't need much food?

I love your uploads, they give people the info they need to go raw the healthy way.

  • @durianriders its also how sumos eat. its actually quite impressive. because of the way they wait for their meals and sleep right after they actually develop fat like a chicken under the skin. where as the Standard north american diet people get fat like cows which is entwined in muscles.

  • @durianriders VERY INTELLIGENT VIDEO...THIS VIDEO SHOULD HELP ALOT OF PEOPLE ESPECIALLY BEGINNER RAW VEGANS LIKE MYSELF..BUT THANK GOODNESS I DONT HAVE THE SAME MENTALITY AS THE GUY IN THE VIDEO BUT YOU POINT OUT VERY GOOD POINTS...GREAT JOB ONCE AGAIN!!!

  • @durianriders sumo wrestlers eat shitloads of all kinds of foods. they eat tons of seafood. plus they probably have plenty of muscle packing along with the fat.

  • Poor guy
