I've been a fan of The Charlatans since "The Only One I Know", but I kind of tuned out recently. I actually missed the release of YCMP, so I'll be buying that ASAP :) This is a great song, and I like what I hear of the rest of the album. Nice work from the guys, after all these years!

Nobody is trying to deny it is a Peter Hook bass line used here, so WTF???? It is a beautiful song and the early New Order melancholy fits it like a glove. I almost like Bird/Reprise even more...brilliant bass line in that one as well.

Yes, this album is saturated in New Orderness... especially the track Mis-Takes... but it is still The Charlatans...and they sure sound like they are having fun with it. They were never one to be afraid to wear their influences on their sleeve so brightly. They have been around long enough and worked hard enough to be worthy of doing so too.
