Thanks Ed, your the reason I bought an AX-Synth you explained in detail what I wanted to know and I would like to say thanks for showing me the Roland technology and for making me a better musician, much love mate.
Ed, this video clip is great!! I love your style. You are a real inspiration.
I recently bought a Fantom G7 and have been watching your videos to jump start the learning curve. You are a tremendous help!! Thank you so much and keep up the good work. Don't stop what you're doing!
ED u r a genius n inspire me n my brothers a lot in keyboard playing.im a guitarist mainly but i enjoy playing keyboard a lot.I bought a fantom g8 n really loving using it.
I love specially the sampling function its very interesting.i never had enjoyed playing a keyboard before.im 2 tryna make my keyboard talk like the way u did here by putting up sounds together.really cool.god bless
I think that you are missing all of the technology and prep that went into this performance. It was a performance that was aimed at a high school crowd, so the performance was geared toward that audience. Instead of bashing my performance because it was on the DJ side, why not appreciate what is really going on. Features such as sampling, time-stretch, RPS, D-Beam triggering of RPS phrases, Time-Trip Pad, Vocal Desiner, AP Synthesis and more. Prep for this performance took almost a month.
@diazeo Nice job Ed, I just picked up an Fantom X8, excellent system... I hope to be able to put it to use as well
as you did this stuff..I'm working on doing some comtemporary christian music with an old genesis prog type
of groove. And it will be pretty much a solo at first project, do you think I can cover that much territory with this keyboard? I do want to use my mac as well, Im using logic pro. What do ya think?..Thanks..You do some great work . Thanks for your inspiration.
@jds9958 Thanks for your kind words. The Fantom X is still one of my favorite keyboards and yes I think that you can cover a lot of territory with this keyboard. Just remember to read the manual a couple of pages at a time and really try and learn the topics that it covers. Also go to Rolandus.com, search the Fantom X section and then select the support tab and download all of the Workshop pdfs on the Fantom X. These will also help you dig in asap. Good luck and take care,
@diazeo Thanks Ed for your response I appreciate it very much.I did just what you said I picked up all the workshop manuals and they look impressive so far, I know that I will really have to hold back my hunger to write
and learn the functions of this machine to do would I need to do ,thanks once again Ed have a great year . Are you doing any shows in NY this year I'm in Buffalo and might be able to swing down there if your doing any demos this year, Take care..

Nice performance for DJ. You are almost sampling everything... Come on, you can do better by yourself in a live performance and show us what the keyborads really can do...
@DaviTrovon I agree that it was very DJ-esque. If you watch more of Ed's vids he's a terrific keyboardist. I would like to see more of that too. I think a good one to emulate is Bert Smorenberg from Yamaha. He does excellent keyboard demos for them.
@dreadatour At 4:48 thats a Godzilla sample roar. I sampled it from a movie. The Voice that comes on just after that was Bruce Lee from the movie, Enter the Dragon.
@dreadatour Oh, That intro song that I'm playing @ 4:35 is the actually Godzilla theme song. You might be thinking of a tune called Carmina Burana O Fortuna. Look it up and see if thats what you were thinking. Its commonly used in scary movies and epic battle scenes.
Hallo Mr. Ed Diaz, Perfect Job, in Germany we say Wahnsinn!!!!! I have Korg M3 but now I much-needed an V Synth GT. Thank you for this Exellent Vid!!!
First off Ed, I gotta say, you've got some of the best vids out there for Roland stuff...even better than your company's website!
Couple questions...first off (coming from someone with a not quite unlimited wallet), would you say that the extra money is worth it on the G over the X (especially a used one).
Lastly, if you had to pick just one of those keyboards, which would you pick (aside from them being different beasts) based on flexibility and funness?
Excellent vid!!! I´d like to learn how to use a keyb just like you do!!! Actually, you take ALL the juice out of every one of them. The thing that I really loved is that you really love the transformers too, but you should have included megatron or soundwave (with your voice vocoded) on this vid.
Thanks for your kind words. I just wanted to give people a taste of the Transformers. I was really going for interaction with the X at the beginning. You would be surprised to know how many people ask me why their Fantoms don't talk and also have a security scan.
Thanks Ed, your the reason I bought an AX-Synth you explained in detail what I wanted to know and I would like to say thanks for showing me the Roland technology and for making me a better musician, much love mate.

Is this security thing real?

no it isn't real it's just a sample that has been trigger by the D-beam
