@shredmaster100 Those are great, but what makes Jeff Beck IS his weirdness. He's a uniquely inspired guitar player. What made him a legend was mainly his "weird" stuff. In fact any creative person that ever mattered was a little strange. Jimi Hendrix. Charlie Chaplain, The Beatles.

@lapwiz Jeff Beck in my opinion, one of the most underrated guitarists of all time in terms of talent. However, nearly all of Jeff's music has been composed for him. Beck had done very little in terms of writing his own material, that said, Jeff Beck has literally revolutionized the guitar and made guitars squeal in ways like we have never heard. Brush with the blues is my favourite of his.

Jeff was particularly effective working within an actual song structure, with a singer - sometimes it's too much virtuoso playing and not enough song that he does - I like him in this mode but he could do more than jam - or maybe that's all that's necessary....

I must say I disagree helentjes, Jeff Beck has always pushed the boundries and so does Jennifer Batten. I´ve listened to Jeff since the Yardbirds but with Jan Hammer I discovered that he really opened my ears for things I would never listen to otherwise. Don´t hate, elevate! :)

Becasue it seems like there always 1 lick ahead. whith jeff you dont know were to begin, so people write it off as being "guitar trickery" when it is pure class.
