I am all for protest and civil disobedience, as long as there is a rationally sound basis and plausible goal; both of which the anarchist movement lack. I am a Libertarian, so I support government deregulation, and social independence, but the government is a necessary institution, and at the very least provides infrastructure for human progression.

I am all for protest and civil disobedience, as long as there is a rationally sound basis and plausible goal; both of which the anarchist movement lack. I am a Libertarian, so I support government deregulation, and social independence, but the government is a necessary institution, and at the very least provides infrastructure for human progression.

The fact is that corruption will exist in government as long as there are humans involved. I think two of the most poisonous things in democracy are apathy and complacence, which create a perfect climate for governmental expansion, and abuse of power; and most of the citizenry doesn't even care.

The protest didn't turn violent- the police did. The police are always violent, because violence is the basis of control. The entire point of police is to enforce law, which is control. Whether or not you agree with law, it is simply true that law is enforced by violence and coercion.

philmick, the anarchists aren't in favor of socialism as you know it. Anarchists don't want the state to control the economy any more than they want the economic powers controlling the state. Most social anarchists (red/black flag) want socialism by choice, not force, and the abolition of control by the state. The reason it's so hard for you to pay your bills is the class gap and the ridiculously inequal distribution of wealth. The anarchists are not trying to spread it by force, though.

the unequal distribution of wealth exists because some people actually have a drive to do something with their lives and chose to earn as much money as possible through hard work while others are lazy moochers who chose to sit back and claim their welfare checks b/c they decided not to make any effort to be a contributing member of society earn your own money it's wrong to expect the government to take care of you thats not what they are there for youre a grown adult you can provide for yourself
