I think the Punisher franchise as a whole is hard to do. I'm sure someone, somewhere could come up with a Punisher story that everyone could enjoy. Hopefully, that person is alive now and can make a fantastic movie that everyone can agree on.
Hey TimeGem, first of all, love your comic reviews, would be lost without them, and just wanted to comment on comic book movies, it seems that as time passes on,it was all about production vs good directing, personally i hate comic book movies, but since Batman Begins, comic book movies seem to offer story quality as well as "special effects" i thought that last years movies were badass, even the Punisher movie, so i think now comic book movies are better, and i will see Watchmen A.S.A.P l8r
lol i love the plug at the for watchmen and u dont have road to predition up there =( i know its baste off a manga an all but hey comics r comics right
One comic book movie that was awesomely bad was Howard the Duck anyone remeber that one? LOL and thank you for your honest opinion on comic movies i appricate it. and i support the Watchmen movie they really studied it. it's a damn shame Alan Moore doesn't want nothing to do with it!
OH sure marval and DC are making movies of comics, but not dark hores. I see how it is comic movie world, ill have my thousend of imperial troops desend upon DC and marval.
Sadly though, some characters just cant be put on film apparently... the prime examples? Dark Phoenix (killed by wolverine? No...) and Venom (Didnt speak in plural, oh and Eddie Brock DOES NOT mean Topher Grace....)
Though they both did have their moments, but yeah, we got off topic XD
So...do you think if Deadpools good in X:Men origins he should get a spinoff? :D
Agreed, I didn't like what happened to Jean Grey in X-Men 3. Oh and Venom in Spidey 3, that ruined it for me, I thought Eddie Brock was a big weightlifter type guy? Oh well.
Yes! Deapool in his own movie, that would be awesome. But I think he would have to be fully costumed though, and not how he is in the Wolverine movie.
David Hasselhoff was amazing in "Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." lol, you go from garbage like that to great films like Spider-Man and X-Men! yeah we agree, Comic Book movies have come along way. The Crow was also a great comic based film.
How i am im not really a giant comic book fan actually i know nothing just some stuff about the characters. But if i enjoy a film whether its off core for the comic i have no problem with it like i liked the first punisher. I loved the new punisher. and same with video game movies like Hitman and Max Payne
Well it's one of the points I was trying to make, the movie companies realize that quality films make money, and people will pay that money if it's decent enough to watch. Even the not so hardcore fans.
I agree, there's been really good and really bad comic book movies. Personally, the only reason a go to the theaters is because of comic book movies. By far the worst comic book movie I've seen is 1990's Captain America...ugh.
I sure hope so. When my brother and I saw the captain america movie for the first time, we were laughing through out the whole film. We couldn't believe how brutally bad it was. I mean, Cap's fake ears, Red Skull's plastic surgery...really? come on.
i really liked the latest Punisher War Zone movie being a Punisher fan I felt it felt more like the comic book Frank Castle.I'm also a huge fan of Jonah Hex can't wait to see how that movie turns out.
I think it's a new standard on what comic book movies should uphold now. Which is good for all of us because now we get to see quality films the way they should be.
I think that the punisher war zone kicked ass, the 2004 version sucked balls

LOL, god that movie was horrible as well, I'm so glad that comic book movies aren't like that anymore. At least Ghost Rider was half-way decent.

Oh man, I still have nightmares about that one...Hopefully though the new one that they have in planning will be miles away from that awful thing.

I heard mixed reviews on the Punisher movie, some people liked it others hated it.
I heard Megan Fox is going to be in Jonah Hex, very very interesting. :)
TimeGem 2 years ago
Interesteing you are right, let's hope things will go that way.
From my point of view The Dark Knight is an example that Marvel and DC should follow.
