funny vid :) I commend him for not buying it and sticking with his principles. As for the thing about hell, to us it's gehenim. Where as here on Earth, it looks like the good have it hard while the bad have it easy, it is diff in the next world and people get what they deserve, either reward or punishment. The latter one is a cleansing process.
Some Jews have an annoying habit of only showing up at shul 2X a year, so in order to pay the rent and keep the lights on the other 363, synagogues have to charge for holiday seating. It's not about 'a den of theives'; it's about requiring those people to meet their obligations to the community.
Actually most Jews do believe in hell. Just not the same way Christians do. Jews use it more for illustration. There is one fable in particular about people living in heaven and hell eating around a large table. Ask your rabbi.

This is great! I always thought someone should do a comedic piece on how you have to buy tix in advance to go to services for High Holy Days! I am only surprised that they are being sold for so cheap! And I love the dig that gets in that it's a religion, not a race. I also love that you got in that little bit of knowledge that Jews don't believe in hell! Well Done! I hope you guys win! And L'Shana Tovah!

sure. our basic belief is that God rewards the good and punishes the wicked.
one of the jewish names for hell is sheol or gehinnam.
the myth that there is no punishment is a reform judaism's, new age wishful thinking.

Spoof my ass!
Take a look at those "suggest donation" tickets on the back of each seat.
Don Vito Bloomberg would not be happy if you checked a small amount.
