  • I loved Richard's proformance as Charlie Schumacher in the outstanding funny comedy movie The Mask and his skit on Michael Jackson was hilarious. RIP Richard Jeni.

  • He was the BEST!! I would love to see the bit he did about the Gordon Lightfoot song, "Edmund Fitzgerald" and the part about depressing love songs.

  • This year my Uncle Joe died on the same day, March 10th, that I was remembering Richard Jeni's passing. Joe was only 51 and Jeni was only 50. Both of them made me laugh growing up. Still miss you, Punk-Faggot.

  • This guy was way funny. His skit on Michael Jackson was hilarious. I'm bummed they (whoever they are) had it removed.

  • This sucks balls. I just discovered RJ's work...

I've been showing a gig on demand to my buds.

I swear that thinking for yourself is fatal.

    Hicks, Pryor...now Rich'.

It's a miracle that Carlin made it to 71.

I'm gonna keep an eye on Doug Stanhope...

Fuck, if he gets taken too.

    There'd better be an afterlife...

    Bye Rich.

  • Heartbroken. Like the brightest star was put out. His comedy was BRILLIANT, and I'll mourn the laughs we won't get to have without him.

  • Even in death he can still make us laugh. That is the mark of a comic genius no matter who they are.

  • Richard was another case of Death by OVERBOOKING. His "Handlers" ought to get the electric chair. Friggin' bastards. That doctor had him all doped on Garbage.

Richard may have put the gun to his mouth, but those guys should be charged with murder.

    We lost a Wonderful man.

  • I can't believe it's been 3 long years since he passed away. Continue to rest in peace Richard!

  • Just found out that he died. I don't know how I never found out about this, considering he was one of my favorite comedians of all time. Argh! This upsets me greatly, but RIP Richard Jeni.

  • I was actually looking for tickets to his show when I found out that he passed away. Very sad.

A comic genius . Always made me laugh.

(I'm still looking for a skit he did about being being dirt poor when he was a child. It is hilarious. If anyone knows where I can see it, please let me know. Thanks.)

  • What a tragedy.Ive been a fan since the early 90s and I even watched the sitcom he was in.

  • I remember the day I found out that he passed away. I wanted to cry so badly but i was in shock and the tears wouldn't flow

Rest in peace Richard Jeni, you will be greatly missed.

  • wats the title of the song?

  • i first heard richard jeni my freshman year in high school, im about to go into college but i still listen to all his material, i sometimes fall asleep listening to his comedy specials, ive heard it almost 100 times but i still smile and laugh from his material, i was so heartbroken when he died, but he will always be my favorite comedian. God Bless you richard, your comedy will always hold a soft place in the generations of the future.

  • I cant believe it...I loved him.

  • A real tragedy in my eyes. I guess he didn't know how much we enjoyed and appreciated him.

  • sad that he had problems he couldn't deal with. He shot himself in the face. Girlfriend and police found him still alive but he died shortly after.

  • You were a funny bastard, Richard. R.I.P.

  • that was great. i really enjoyed it. i miss him so much, he was so funny. its a shame, he left the party too soon.

    we love you Richard!

    thank you

  • That was truly amazing. I'm pleased that someone was able and willing to do this. Thank you.

  • See how beautiful he looked at 1:15...

  • I was logging on to my computer and i noticed to the bottom of the screen of aol there was a tribute to stars that have passed away this past year, so i watched and omg when his picture was shown i almost balled my eyes out. Its sad a funny man who made many laugh was sad deep inside. But now he is in a better place, RIP keep God and his angels laughing.

    Amazing tribute!!

    thank you for this!

    Kira

  • This is truly amazing

I was touched when I watched this, thank you for posting this

  • Lovely tribute. The ending is great. I almost broke up in tears when I found out about his passing. A comedic genius, who is already sorely missed. Hope he's up there with Pryor, cracking up everybody in another world...

    DOLORES

  • Spammers have no respect.

Richard Jeni was a comedic genius and he will be missed.

  • NO MORE ASSHOLES POSTING SPAM ON THIS MEMORIAL VIDEO, seriously you'd think even spammers would have some respect

  • @SlickSmooth22 Their brains are spam, they cant even think... They are post zombies. Most of them dont get sleep for weeks on end, some of then turn out like The Richard Jeni skit about Masterbaition in the dark room, Dr.Jerkinstein... lol RIP Jeni!!

  • I remember reading about his suicide in Entertainment Weekly. I was so shocked. I loved Richard. (I really miss Mitch too.) I recently heard that the L. A. coroner's report stated mental illness as the cause, tragic because Richard could have received help.

    P.S. Everything I've read puts his D.O.B. as 1957.

  • man, all my life growing up, we had Richard Jeni albums and tapes, and videos. My biggest dream was to see him live. I was going to go to his next HBO Special but then he died. I would give anything to have him back, and not for me but for everyone. he was such an inspiration to so many people, he was one of the greatest comedians to ever live and he has a made a massive influence on my life, and my wanting to be a comedian. thank you Richard. We love you and miss you.

  • I'm glad I was able to bring my kids to see Richard Jeni. One of the greatest comedians ever to grace the stage.

  • another great treasure of ours gone...and others that went before him,pryor,hicks,kinnison,bruce......the ood die young it seems.

  • he was a funny man. shame he's gone

  • audio mixed too high. redo this so we can hear Richard, not your showing off about adding a Beatles song to this guy.

  • its called art

    asshole

  • No, It's called -- you have no talent so you have to use someoene's material. That's not art, that's theft.

Hey, good to see you signed your last post with your true name.

  • gee whiz-it's not like George Lucas stole Star Wars from the japanese movie:Fortress of Solitude or anything.

  • i used the beatles song because i felt it was moving and appropriate. i could've written a song about richard jeni and recorded it, but by the time i did all that the news would've reverted back to anna nicole smith's death.

  • @SlickSmooth22 The music is too loud. It overshadows the comedy. I want to hear Richard, not listen to music. Please fix.

  • of all the comedians in the world, Richard Jeni would be one of the last ones i thought was going to commit suicide.

  • I saw Richard Jeni on my 18th birthday and I got to meet him backstage. He was a phenomenal guy with a shine in his eye that can't be described. He always made me laugh through tough times.

    We love you Rich. Always.

  • It sucks, this man was one of the first comedians I ever saw on tv and he was the first I saw in person. Now I wish I had tried to meet him after the show. He was an awesome comedian though.

  • that clip from the family guy was hysterical, great job, so sad it took his death to open peoples eyes to his humor

  • thanks for the video, just found out today. it hit a nerve real hard. loved the ending :)

  • George Carlins next i know it, he cant dodge death that much longer

  • He's only 69...

  • check that math

  • 2007-1957=69? try 50, idiot.

  • SEE RICHARD JENI'S FINAL PHOTO AT: elkunt

  • A fantastic tribute for a brilliant comic! Thank you!

  • That was awesome. Thank you for that.

  • Thank you for the tribute. I am a huge fan of Richard's. I tried to give your video 5 *'s but it only registered 2. The song is perfect, it gave me chills.

  • Sometimes...

emotions can go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Your video made me cry and laugh...

    It was delicious

    Thank you

  • What a great loss. You may not remember his name but you remembered he always made you laugh.
