Richard was and always will be my hero! Thank you for using pictures of him, his Make Up was done by me Nina Minster for 10 yrs... I will never forget him. I will never stop missing him.. Thanks
You know if Richard was diagnosed with severe clinical depression coupled with fits of psychotic paranoia and schizophrenia why didnt he just started taking some liquid Prozac instead of anti-depressants and sleeping aids and killing himself with a gunshot to his face ?.
I loved Richard's proformance as Charlie Schumacher in the outstanding funny comedy movie The Mask and his skit on Michael Jackson was hilarious. RIP Richard Jeni.
This year my Uncle Joe died on the same day, March 10th, that I was remembering Richard Jeni's passing. Joe was only 51 and Jeni was only 50. Both of them made me laugh growing up. Still miss you, Punk-Faggot.
Richard was another case of Death by OVERBOOKING. His "Handlers" ought to get the electric chair. Friggin' bastards. That doctor had him all doped on Garbage.
Richard may have put the gun to his mouth, but those guys should be charged with murder.
Just found out that he died. I don't know how I never found out about this, considering he was one of my favorite comedians of all time. Argh! This upsets me greatly, but RIP Richard Jeni.
I was actually looking for tickets to his show when I found out that he passed away. Very sad.
A comic genius . Always made me laugh.
(I'm still looking for a skit he did about being being dirt poor when he was a child. It is hilarious. If anyone knows where I can see it, please let me know. Thanks.)
i first heard richard jeni my freshman year in high school, im about to go into college but i still listen to all his material, i sometimes fall asleep listening to his comedy specials, ive heard it almost 100 times but i still smile and laugh from his material, i was so heartbroken when he died, but he will always be my favorite comedian. God Bless you richard, your comedy will always hold a soft place in the generations of the future.
My cousin is married to his brother, i met him in 1993 at my cousins wedding he was so nice and funny he was the best man at the wedding and he gave a very funny speech i remember asking if he ever made a movie and he said he was making a movie with jim carrey called The Mask RIP Richard Jeni
...there are troubles in all of us which most of us keep to ourselves when all we need do is discuss them to someone.someone will listen,it's finding that special someone who we can trust. RIP r.j.,the humor you left us with will always remain...
This was the only time i cried when someone famous died. I adored Richard Jeni and always will. The ONLY comedian that made me laugh so hard i couldn't breath. Nice tribute you did. He is sorely missed.
I was logging on to my computer and i noticed to the bottom of the screen of aol there was a tribute to stars that have passed away this past year, so i watched and omg when his picture was shown i almost balled my eyes out. Its sad a funny man who made many laugh was sad deep inside. But now he is in a better place, RIP keep God and his angels laughing.
Lovely tribute. The ending is great. I almost broke up in tears when I found out about his passing. A comedic genius, who is already sorely missed. Hope he's up there with Pryor, cracking up everybody in another world...
I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY. wHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT HE WAS SO SAD. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE NOTICED HIS SADNESS. BUT I GUESS GOD WANTED TO BRING SOME LAUGHTER TO HEAVEN! REST IN PEACE RICHARD. WE WILL MISS YOU.
@SlickSmooth22 Their brains are spam, they cant even think... They are post zombies. Most of them dont get sleep for weeks on end, some of then turn out like The Richard Jeni skit about Masterbaition in the dark room, Dr.Jerkinstein... lol RIP Jeni!!
I remember reading about his suicide in Entertainment Weekly. I was so shocked. I loved Richard. (I really miss Mitch too.) I recently heard that the L. A. coroner's report stated mental illness as the cause, tragic because Richard could have received help.
P.S. Everything I've read puts his D.O.B. as 1957.
man, all my life growing up, we had Richard Jeni albums and tapes, and videos. My biggest dream was to see him live. I was going to go to his next HBO Special but then he died. I would give anything to have him back, and not for me but for everyone. he was such an inspiration to so many people, he was one of the greatest comedians to ever live and he has a made a massive influence on my life, and my wanting to be a comedian. thank you Richard. We love you and miss you.
i used the beatles song because i felt it was moving and appropriate. i could've written a song about richard jeni and recorded it, but by the time i did all that the news would've reverted back to anna nicole smith's death.
I saw Richard Jeni on my 18th birthday and I got to meet him backstage. He was a phenomenal guy with a shine in his eye that can't be described. He always made me laugh through tough times.
It sucks, this man was one of the first comedians I ever saw on tv and he was the first I saw in person. Now I wish I had tried to meet him after the show. He was an awesome comedian though.
Thank you for the tribute. I am a huge fan of Richard's. I tried to give your video 5 *'s but it only registered 2. The song is perfect, it gave me chills.

He was the BEST!! I would love to see the bit he did about the Gordon Lightfoot song, "Edmund Fitzgerald" and the part about depressing love songs.

This sucks balls. I just discovered RJ's work...
I've been showing a gig on demand to my buds.
I swear that thinking for yourself is fatal.
Hicks, Pryor...now Rich'.
It's a miracle that Carlin made it to 71.
I'm gonna keep an eye on Doug Stanhope...
Fuck, if he gets taken too.
There'd better be an afterlife...
Bye Rich.

Heartbroken. Like the brightest star was put out. His comedy was BRILLIANT, and I'll mourn the laughs we won't get to have without him.
