Yup screw all them truck stops in Gary. Id put a paycheck on someone pulled his lock while he was asleep and he just didnt pre trip correctly. Its unfortunate how much stuff we gotta deal with out on the road and still have to defend ourselves from fuel thiefs and assholes that pull pins, steal load locks, and whatever else they can get their hands on. Little do they know, trucks stop, the world may as well quit turning
AS IM A ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT I HAVE VIDEO PROOF THAT MY DOGS EAT BETTER THAN AVERAGE STUPID AMERICAN CITIZEN, BUHHAHAHHAHAAHA, IM A ILLEGAL TRUCK DRIVER AND HAVE VIDEO PROOF OF MY WEEKLY CHECKS AND PUT THESE OVER THE ROAD ASSHOLES TO SHAME, HAHAHAHHAHAHAH AMERICAN IDIOTS
bet youre right, bet the driver either didnt check for a complete 5th wheel latch, or somebody pulled it on him. ive had my doors opened & chassis latches unlatched by other drivers in the brief time it takes to get fuel, back in my intermodal days. always check is right...only takes a couple seconds to walk around & make sure everythings where it should be before you get moving again
Actually Jb Hunt and Swift (which you work for) usually have newer equipment. Jb Hunt is known for taking good care of their chassis and containers. They own their own chassis. I believe companies like yours (Swift) and Schneider lease their chassis from the rail and they are garbage. I bet that driver dropped his trailer and bobtailed somewhere and just didn't hook back up properly. I have a video where a Swift daycab is in a ditch, u can barely see the top of the cab but its there.
@InterWebSpecialist yea i see now hunt owns their chassis, he looked in a hurry before it fell so im sure he just didnt check it, and i know swift equipment is crap. ive noticed so much more since this video about a year ago. the yard spotters is some these rail yards just whip the chassis around i witnessed one ran into a barrier and spotter kept goin
Its possible his fifth wheel couldve broke.when i was in truck driving school with builders transport back in 96-97 a comapny driver just left the lugoff sc terminal where we were training .A driver had his fifth wheel serviced because he was having problems with it. After he had it serviced he check it by tugging on it.A few min. down the road his trailer came off in the middle of the road. They had left out a part when working on it. Hey it happens and wasnt his fault.
@Robotech34 there treated just as shitty as any other one in a railyard, i seen yard spotters in railyards smack chassies off walls and crap lol, its wild
Somebody yanked that shit. It does happen all the time. He will get blamed for that but he won't get fired over it if he has a clean record. Jb hunt is insane about equipment maintenance particulary with intermodal equipment. There are far more regulations pertaining to intermodal equipment versus regular van trailers. If I park at the pickle park I set the trailer brake put it in first and tug and set the tractor while it is tugging. And I will still check that shit when I come back out.
Looks like he pissed somebody off. They'll put quarters in the air lines too. Check everything before you leave. I talked to another JB driver, got lights and wheels stolen off his truck while he was in a truck stop.
Maybe someone pulled the fifth wheel release, I heard about people doing that at truck stops. They say check it before you leave. Especially when you work for a company people don't like. I agree it's tough finding a job right now...

He might have had the king pen above the lock when he hooked up. If sombody pulled the pen it would not have made it that far.
Manongjojo 1 year ago
@Manongjojo possibly, i always have my truck lift the trailer when i hook to avoid high hooking errors

atleast it was in a parking lot and not while he was flyin' down the road
