Not necessarily, I've been experimenting and this is my conclusion: The Dream Den doesn't count as the final dungeon, this game is one of the few games that I know that forces you to get 100% to see the true ending;however, after beating the boss in the Dream Den you do get Louie's notes so in actual it is the final boss but not necessarily in a way
