  • Cool commercial! Especially because of the whale!

  • Awesome commercial..I remember it well, as well as another version that was animated differently, and at the end, the kids were sailing in New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty waved at them as they passed, and then it turned into a Tootsie Roll Bar at the top of the screen. Can anyone find that and post it? As for the end, I like those Tootsie Roll packages better instead of the jar full of midgees becuase here the audience can actually see the words Tootsie Roll on the packages.

  • thumbs up if your eating a tootsie roll while watching this! (i'm eating one!)

  • OMG i remember this big time during the 90's. Kids now days dont no know nothing bout them old school stuff we use to watch lol..

  • theres 30 seconds I'll never get back... O.o

  • I hate how young people today keep saying that they miss the 90's or wish they can live in the 70's and 80's. But there was no readily available internet then. No Facebook. No YouTube. I guarantee you that 2 days in the 70's would make you miserable. You wouldn't last!

  • Looks like I got...

    *Puts on sunglasses*

    TOOTSIE ROLLED!

    AWWWWWW YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • To kill a mockingbird brought me here. page 257 in this edition: " "Have a chew, Scout." Jem dug into his pocket and extracted a Tootsie Roll. It took a few minutes to work the candy into a comfortable wad inside my jaw." Product placement? I wonder if Harper Lee was payed for that.

  • This was one of my favorite commercials I'm from the 70's and things were so simple back then We didn't need PS3, Wii, or Xbox we were kids who loved to go out and play and didn't have to worry about stupid things like drive bys. to all the 1970 kids may I say those were the days!!!!!!!

  • @projects1400 people did have to worry about drive bys they did that shit long before the 70s with other gangs you're just retarded

  • From what I remember, this commercial did in fact play during Saturday morning cartoons at least til the early 90s. It had real longevity power. Then the networks suddenly decided it was too old fashioned and not edgy enough for the new generation. To me, it just as well reminds me of growing up in the 80s, when I saw it all the time.

  • Such a classic commercial. It makes me happy :)

  • i love this song lol.! i wish they still play it on commericals

  • This commercial occurred when I was a kid in the 70's when I was watching Shazam! and Isis. OMG! Saturday Morning TV now sucks.

  • umm... this thing doesn't taste like chocolate

  • I first saw this commercial back in the early-90's!

  • From 1977

  • i remember seeingthis comercial back in the late 90s early 00s lol

  • I really do also want to have lived in the 70's even thought i am 15.

  • 22 people have a terrible view of the world

  • I'm just going to go ahead & say it...If everything you see in the world looks like a Tootsie Roll to you, consider either getting a Cat Scan, a Lobotomy or complete Psychiatric Care. Either way, Check your head!

Sorry for stomping all over a classic.

  • @LastNetwork2

    LAME!

  • I remember this commercial from the 90's

  • They used to play these when I was little, along with the old Coke commercials. :) I still walk around singing this song every once in a while when I'm cleaning and stuff.

  • OMG I remember this from my childhood!! ha ha I still remembered the lyrics to the song!! These delicious things gave you cavities though!!

  • I love tootsie rolls yummmmmmmmmmm

  • This was played in the 90's because the 90's kids have to catch up on it.

  • Those were the days and oh how I miss them!

  • I saw this commercial back in the 90s.

  • Saturday mornings, eating a bowl of apple jacks while watching H.R. Puffinstuff, Josie & The Pussycats, Roadrunner, Bugs, Daffy & the gang, then going outside to ride my bike or my bigwheel. Man, the 70's was the best. Wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world

  • @sda1225 .. it was good to be a kid in the '70's. My kids would probably be bored out of their heads! I mean, cartoons only on Saturday! the travesty!

  • @sda1225 I hear ya! They were indeed the best! How I wish I could go back to those carefree days. I need a time machine NOW! lol

  • I likey

  • @Sonca26

neyehhhh I'm not a big fan of bell bottoms, disco, hatch backs and those Brady Bunch looking houses and also avocado green. Course that's just me who is even 30 years of age hah hah. I also like this thing called the internet we have now.

  • @Sonca26 I agree....I miss it all too and the good top 40 music we had to listen to.

  • i love this commercial

  • Me too. I especially love the "magic baseball"(as I call it) that changes everything into Tootsie Rolls as it flies by.

Also, I remember, this jingle as an instrumental in other commercials[for T-R] with live action kids, who finished the commercial(s) by saying "UMMM-it's From Tootsie Roll!", as the last notes of the jingle played in the background

  • omg i like tootsi rolls they areYuMmY and every time i eat one i sinf theres a party in my so yummy so yummy!

  • This commercial went hand in hand with Nancy Reagan's Just Say NO campaign against drugs. These poor kids are high on some illegal drug and see candy no matter where they look... poor kids...
