Solution is simple.

Everybody who hates nuclear power, move to one of 7 provinces that doesnt have it. If its as extremely dangerous and so horrendously expensive, you should have moved far far away from Ontario long long ago.

We're right behind Quebec for cheapest power in North America. Ever wonder why big industry like GM, Steelco, Alcan, etc came to Ontario... cheap power thanks to nuclear.

Nuclear Power is the cleanest form of energy. It requires a tiny amount of uranium and only has to be refueled once every 18 months. There are no greenhouse gasses released, and the entire nuclear process is contained in vessels with multiple levels of breach security. actually in Canada we have online refueling and nukes are being constantly refueled on daily basis - pretty cool process. And despite few pissed off lowlife hippies, majority of population is in favor of nuclear, or neutral.

Nuclear powerplants are seriously dangerous if something goes wrong..take a look at Saudi Arabia and some other arabic states, they get rich like hell from selling oil to gas guzzling countries, what they`re doing now is building entire cities based on green energy, they`ve seen the future..oil, coal and nuclear plants will soon be stone age tech compared to what`s coming.

fuck you and your "green" bullshit. solar panels are so inefficient it takes almost as much energy to make them as they will ever produce. nuclear power is the ONLY way to produce clean, renewable energy that is reliable, so i don't have to wait for the wind to turn on a light. there are processes to reuse spent fuel rods and use almost all of the energy, reducing the amount of radiation down to almost none. and this way it requires refueling MUCH less often.

So they couldn't make a valid point about how nuclear energy is bad? Perhaps because all of these people from Greenpeace haven't read the literature on the pros and cons of the subject. Instead they joined up with Greenpeace because saving the earth is totally the cool thing to do (which i don't disagree with) and they listened to their superiors in Greenpeace and blindly believed them. Check the facts with the engineers who do this for a living, and not with the hippies who don't check facts

You could always use coal (nice C02), or windpower(how many turbines do you need before you can compensate for a powerplant?) or solar power (see coment for windpower).

It's not about totally replacing our power from nuclear and live as we are... It's about finding a new way to create energy and reduce our overall use.That is the only way sustainable energy will work.Ask yourself, do u need to where shorts in your house in january? Why not plant some trees around your house so that in the summer your house is cooler. Why do people make excuses everytime that someone says we need to make a change? Dalton is planting nuclear waste on native reserves. What a nice guy. I wonder how much the nuclear lobby paid him to give $43 billion of the taxpayers' funds to them? Money that could (and should) have gone to windmills and solar and conservation efforts and energy efficient retrofits. Dalton's "green plan" is dirty coal, toxic waste and lies.
