  • out of the hundreds of thousands of movies churned out worldwide... only a handful of them have the magic and spark that this masterpiece has.. ABSOLUTELY MAJESTIC !!

  • I watched this movie a long time ago and wondered why no one else had seen this. . . then collateral came out and that was a pretty good mann film to add to the style of heat. Collateral has little parts in it that honor heat, little things.

  • I agree with the Oscar snub although the Academy falls short when it comes to defining a truly great film. So much jealousy and politics get involved that the best picture usually goes to a film that dosent deserve it...(Shakespeare in love over Saving Private Ryan, for one Ghandi over ET for another and finally Chariots of fire over Raiders of the Lost Ark) Not saying the winning movies are bad just not the kind of classic films that people constantly talk about.

  • @VisionofOrion After rereading this comment I realized I worded the intro wrong. I meant to say "I agree with everyone's frustration over the Oscar snub" not I agree with the Oscar snub."

  • I remember listening to this song same day when my father died. It was a very cold, winter night. I will never forget this day. Never.

  • One of best movie ever...unbelievable good...even this soundtrack is one of the best ever.

Robert de Niro & Al Pacino on high level !

Also the other actors are very good.

  • This is the best song to listen when walking through town by yourself on a cold winters night ..

  • Sounds like the loading screen in Battlefield 3's Operation Metro.

  • 1:44 - When De Niro steps off the train and the music changes = amazing.

  • My favourite thing about Heat (other than the soundtrack) has got to be all the little sub-plots that are irrelevant and somehow relevant to the theme (such as the black guy in the restaurant, the dead hooker, the step-daughter etc). great fucking movie anyway

  • Litlle sounds like soundtrack from Fallout 2 "Modoc,Dreamland"

  • The fact that this masterpiece of filmmaking was not even NOMINATED!! for a SINGLE! Academy Award is beyond a travesty on the part of the AMP...SHAME!! on a film organization that is widely regarded as a TOTAL SHAM!! in many circles around the country and world, for that matter..BEST PIC, DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHY, SCORE, SOUND, CO-LEAD ACTORS, ON AND ON...the REAL!! fans and students of film know what's truly great out there..

  • @phantomlord54 thumbs this comment up from this guy never a truer word be spoken of this masterpiece, most underated movie ever by critics etc!

  • @phantomlord54 I also think both Amy Brenneman and Ashley Judd should have been nominated as well.

  • @phantomlord54 Nobody was prepared for this masterpiece

  • @phantomlord54 agree 100 per cent....and it's not alone. For example look at The Good, The Bad and The Ugly in 1967...not a single nomination.

  • @phantomlord54 i didn't know that, im really shocked by that, hugely unfair

  • @phantomlord54 The film is undeniably beautiful and perfect. It will stand the test of time and continue to inspire people forever. I remember my friends making fun of me for liking this film back in 1995. It obviously never appealed to them, I don't even think they watched it! But to each their own, I'm proud to say I loved this film back then and I love it even more now. It's a perfect gem.

  • @phantomlord54 Calm down. It's not unusual for some of the greatest works in the American film industry to be overlooked, actors receiving Oscars for less deserving roles than earlier ones in their career, etc.

  • @phantomlord54 U speak da truth bro

  • Excellent.

  • Hey Slick, you see that shit coming out of his ears?

He can’t fucking hear you. Cool it!!!

  • @The7legacy Are you ready for the monster fuck of your young life.

  • @The7legacy Do you know if Tarico (can't remember his real name) ever got clean from his meth addiction? Such a good actor.

  • @quincee33

His name is Tom Sizemore & he did get clean from his drug abuse. He is a very good actor & he was in alot of movies. Heat was, still, & always will be a classic movie.

    I can't believe in was in 1995.

  • i fucking love it

  • Glorious! One of my favourite all time movies. The mixture of sound and image is stunning!

  • sure-absolutely- the song is awesome

  • Hey whats the song in Heat when Hanna is driving after Mcully right before the Coffee shop scene?

  • love the drum beat at the end

  • So what happens when you seee me coming around the corner? Are you just gonna leave her there? McAuley replies - " That's the discipline". The script was second to none!! Well done Michael Mann. A movie that will transcend time.

  • The green truck accelerates and rams the armored car...an unforgettable scene!

  • This music is felt, not heard. Elliot Goldenthal and Heat all in all are incredible.

  • This song is also on the end credits

  • The beginning of this would make a perfect alarm clock sound. Just imagine waking up to that every day.

  • @stukadiving What a cool idea, Thanks man, ripped to MP3 ;)

  • Thanks for this man, great intro music to a great movie...

  • good old times

  • coool

  • my personal favorite movie, this beginning track and the one at the end of the movie are superb.

  • something about this song...it sets the mood for the movie, very well done.

  • does anyone know the song played when Al Pacino is chasing down Deniro on the highway before they go to the coffee shop? ...i dont believe it's part of the soundtrack but i was hoping someone else would know where i could find it. Thanks!

  • @TheAclark109 it's new down fades by moby, a cover of the one by the Joy Division

  • Brings back memories

  • i disagree bro.. Public enemy was real good... but you can't beat the classics.. Pacino and DeNiro did a fanfuckintastic job in this film lol

  • they don't make films like this anymore. you can trust me on that...

  • @Dkucharz317 - Dude,The Town & Public Enemies were probably the best hesit, crime or whatever you wanna call it since Heat came out.Gotte give'em credit

  • I didn't expect any soundtrack from a Michael Mann film (or any film at all) to top the soundtrack of 'Last of the Mohicans' but this might be a contender.

  • A timeless and very 'human' film I find.

Those who like this track would also enjoy 'Plaid - Safety In Solitude' from the Tekkonkinkreet soundtrack

  • Elliot Goldenthal realy discrives with this peace of music the atmosphere, of this film.sometimes Serene and Stilness and sometimes Cruel and Violent.

  • @indraluap discribes, i mean

  • I really like this songgg, that last scene is insane!

  • Val kilmer performs the role of his life!!

Mann knows the job, his LA movies are the best (and also Miami vice and colleteral), lately he stopped doing this kind of movies... he must keep producing LA cops movies! there isn't anyone else !

  • gets you thinking about stuff... simply beautiful

"in the end no one cares. take that ta heart"

  • a truly perfect song for the end of a great movie

  • @Wstein123 Sorry to correct you, but this bit is from the beginning credits of the film, title as stated on this page..

The end credit music is Moby's 'God Moving Over the Face of the Waters'..

I know this as Heat is a classic for me and I know this film inside out..

  • @RevolverRaj too true anyone who truly loves the film can identify the music cues!

  • 3:57 is my favorite. That's also where Michael died, am I right?

  • who missed the like button >.>

  • @TokyoXtremeDrifter

Dislike it so that Youtube won't pull it off

  • Art in its purest form

  • masterpiece...best movie ever

  • The 'modoc' track of off the Fallout 2 soundtrack sounds a lot like this.

  • great feeling, great sound, great film

  • New Dawn Fades ~ Moby

  • Does anybody kno what the music to the scene before the coffee shop scene is called? The part where al pacino is is the helicopter n then he finds de niro n gets in a car to follow him n pull him over. I couldnt find the piece of music during that part.

  • @bighector1977 moby - new dawn fades..

  • I love this movie, have seen it many many times and practically know all the dialogue by now! A big part of what makes it great is definitely the score, it's so amazing, fits beautifully!

  • The whole film is just fucking ACE !!

Al Pacino and Robert De Nero are my two favourite actors which makes this film my favourite !!

  • i watched this movie in London when it came out and it was a wonderful experience. The relationship beween deNiro and Pacino was electric. Really excellent movie, I don'tthink Mann has ever topped this.

  • Pioneer of the crimi/thriller genre.

I think Pacino and de Niro one of the greatest Italian duo.

  • The best action flick of the 90s

  • Oh man, if I ever make a film, which I will, I will tell my composer to listen to this soundtrack and then imitate it. Ah it so fitting, so evocative, so memorable, so subtle - the ideal film soundtrack.

  • @finbomartini haha you beauty !

  • @finbomartini did you know that that's exactly what Christopher Nolan did. He used this as a temp track to show the composers how they should score the opening scene of The Dark Knight

  • @DjOmaHahn Really! Where did you read that? Awesome! You have no idea the thrill that gives me, feels like I'm thinking as a director would, ahh man now I've started listening to the song again and I'll have to watch the whole video....such a sik piece of music

  • Amazing!

  • Gooseflesh...

  • i really like the last minute in this song :) EPIC!!!!

  • po prostu mistrzostwo świata kocham tą melodię

  • this is up there with some of my fav movie ost's along with blade runner and terminator 2

  • YES, INDEED

  • absolutely brilliant OST, lot of thanks for sharing!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that plays just before Al Pachinos character returns to his apartment and finds the girl in the bathtub??

  • its called Ultramarine, its track 6 on the ost, you might notice its used a bit more prominently in the scene where deniro and co. are have a dinner at some restaurant

  • Heat is adapted from a true story. Life is stranger than fiction. The characters were all real people at one time.

  • fantastic .... thank you so much for uploading this

    i love you man

  • Thanx a lot for the upload. Have been looking for this for years...

  • What song plays in the beginning of the Trailer for this movie? ..it has a slow methodical guitar sound with a little techno mixed in..

  • is this the part when they're talking and the whole L.A. is in front of them, right? that is absolutly magical scene along with this theme...magnificent

  • fuckin beautiful

  • @Fahstudios13579

    Damn right

  • @Fahstudios13579 cudnt of said it better myself !

  • Where can i find more songs with guitar/orchrestra

  • out of all the crap from hollywood now days... this Slighly adapted true story stands out as one of the over looked movie the fucking academy did not reconize.

  • what was the true story ?

  • @carlosmaldo1987 I agree. I watched this movie on release day in 1995 and the viewing experience still sticks with me.

  • Best movie I've ever seen<3 and the soundtrack is awsome

  • @91franke91 all my opinion!

  • Very nice play list, with the background art ad all very cool

  • Great vid mate. Always wondered what this song was called.

  • Very cool...

  • Love the movie. Love the soundrack. Love the actors, director, storyline. Epic!!!!

  • I percieve LA images from the music that doesn't even occur in the film. Guess it means it's a really strong film score, or perhaps I've seen this wonderful film a few too many times.

  • @grisbandet hah, so I'm not the only one. Always Forever Now is another fav from the soundtrack.

  • thanks man

ur the only one on utube w/ the whole song!

  • Warner Music Group is disabling a lot of the audio on many soundtracks so this is a gamble too. Enjoy the song, I hope tracks 16-21 come online soon. Stupid WGM.

  • @TheHighKingFingolfin

I just went and purchased this whole soundtrack from amazon mp3.

And I was reminded of it from seeing these videos on youtube. WMG are idiots.

  • @TheHighKingFingolfin

WGM should be aware that after listening the themes here, many of us go and buy the album.

  • @TheHighKingFingolfin this is for WGM... eat shit fuk&% fagg%$t o' shit!!!!!

  • keep posting.

    Great track.
