this would be funny but its so awful! im so confused.
they should do another one but with people of color, and show the little girl crying when the bus driver is black, i think that would make sense right everyone>?
You may say you didn't mean to insult transsexuals, but to the every day person, they don't know the difference between a transsexual and a "transvestite". They assume THIS illustrates the entire spectrum of transgendered individuals. In your next video, how about you include the differences? Better yet, edit this one, unless of course you disagree.
If I hadn't started my transition when I did, sooner or later it'd have been too late for me, and I'd eventually kill myself from severe gender dysphoria (look it up). But apparently the death of young transsexuals is a small price to pay to "keep men out of women's bathrooms".
Very good video, really illustrating the outrage. I thought of the same thing myself.
If the GOP nominated Ron Paul, who, as a libertarian, would oppose this infringement upon the First Amendment's protection of the right of association ( assembly ), or Mike Huckabee, then I would have voted for the GOP. But, of course, both of these guys were slammed in the media, which is both pro-war, and pro-social "liberalism"
If someone wants to fire me for my nationality, that should be their prerogative. I think everyone should have that right. I would expect it in other countries, and I would not expect to get a job, say, in an Irish bar ahead of an Irishman, or in a gay bar ahead of a gay man.
Thanks for visitting my channel. Not hiring someone isnt grounds for suing someone. You would never win a court battle if you tried to sue for simply not being hired.
People like you often make me wonder if human intelligence is slowly degrading.
However, If you tried to FIRE someone based on their Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, etc. Then you would have grounds for suing the company that fired you.
This video promotes a wrong hateful idea about trans people, and I have flagged it.
I kinda get it if it's targeted towards crossdressers/transvestites (even though there's nothing wrong with them), but I hope this isn't targeted towards transsexuals too.
There's a big difference...
Crossdressers = people who crossdress, for entertainment, amusement, and fetish.
Transsexuals = people born with one gender brain and oposite gender body, and later in life change sex with hormones and surgeries to correct their birth defect.
I'm australian, Your amendments dont matter to me.
But your discrimination does. I have many trans friends, like myself, who thanks to people like you, who group us together with Homosexual Child Molesting Men in Dresses are often a target for bullying, hate crimes, and open discrimination.
And thanks to ignorant people such as yourself who love posting ludicrous videos like this, Linking Trans people with Sexual Deviants, And Crossdressing paedophiles.
My own MOTHER found videos such as these and thought I would turn out like this.
She delayed my hormone treatment until I was legally an adult and able to start without her.
And disowned me when she found out that i was starting hormones, because in her own words, she didnt want a "sexual deviant" in her house.
I'm sure that was a painfully emotional experience, and I can appreciate your angst towards my video.
It was NEVER intended for people such as yourself.
I accidentally deleted one of your comments - I meant to reply.
I hope you have a full and happy life free from discrimination, free to live your life, and free from persecution. Everyone has a right to pursue their own road to happiness.
@weneedmccain Well heres the problem with what your saying. I am transexual I HAVE NOT HAD THE SURGERY because i am in the Real life trial period. The period in which we by medical ruling have to go through to make the full transformation as you call it. What your saying is that until we finish the transition we are transvestites and should be treated accordingly. We need these protections so that we can transition. Otherwise there is no use having them at all.
ENDA would prohibit the termination of an employee based on sexual orientation or gender identity. anything else amounts to discrimination...and we all know that wrong. don't we?
I voted for, campaigned for, and donated to Obama. But his support for this legislation really makes me have my regrets. ENDA and other hate crimes legislation, that will ban free speech
For me, as well as for the electorate at large ( a number of prominent Republicans voted for Obama ), the issue was America's fixation on fighting the Moslem world. That was the change people wanted There was NO mandate for pushing this radical social agenda on the American people, nor to ban guns
So are you saying that it is okay to call a gay man a faggot and fire them for their sexuality? Considering you campaigned for the President, what ever made you think he would feel differently on the subject? How would you feel if your house was burned down by someone because of your gender? Or if you were fired from your job because of your nationality? You have no control over who you are.
I agree, but only to an extent. That example, yes, I agree. However, what about transgendered people who are passing as women? Or those who are making great attempts to? Do you still think they should be barred the rights listed in EDNA?
I can assure you, the example's shown in this video, are rare and a very small percentage of the transgender community. However, I still have the question I would like answered:
What about trans women who pass and live as women?
Awesome. I totally agree, and, with that part known, I totally agree with this video. Thank you for this. I'm fed up with men in wigs trying to claim they are no different than others such as myself.
Neither is better or worse, but both are VERY different.
Also, why does the video emphasize on the congressman being gay? What is actually being disputed? Homosexuals? Transvestites? Transsexuals? It sounds to me its all being sweeped onto the always present big pile of badness, again.
Well, this video breaks ENDA into 2 categories, sexual identity (which I don't go into) and gender identity which is specifically transvestites.
Once a transgender has made the switch, there's no confusion about sex.
Barney is sponsoring the legislation, and mentioning he's gay adds to the fire the entire gay agenda thing, which many people feel is far too aggressive.
Only if they and the public they cater to allow themselves to be ruled by their fear of something they do not know. We are all clear-thinking people and we should know better then this and its a very bad thing this legislation is NEEDED because we all cant make out for ourselves we are doing other people wrong who do no one harm.
But the public is ruled by fear and afraid of the unknown! That's just the reality. I'm not saying its fair. Nothing in life is fair. We all are thrown curve balls we have to live with.
And it would affect some business negatively.
Yes, dialogue is called for. I feel I've gotten to know some of the people I've been sharing with, and I like them. They have been civil, respectful, articulate and present a very good argument, as you did here.
Also you may not have attempted to raise hatred but the website of the organization that is responsible for creating this video clearly is one aimed at raising fear and hatred against homosexuals. How can we expect a clear and non-hatred-filled opinion from them and believe their aim is 'only' at transvestites (which is gruesome already) when they compare homosexuals to pedophiles?!?!
I have not seen that comparison, homosexuals to pedophiles.
I would suggest a one on one interview with Peter LeBarbara, I'll film it. Let's start a dialogue, a debate.
Some have made some very good points here and the goal should be removing disinformation and providing education. Education overcomes fear. Education enlightens. Education can bring us all together.
I should also mention that while employers would no longer be forced to not hire someone based simply on gender identity, they WOULD still be allowed to have basic social rules based on appearing presentable. If you have a big, fat beer gut, lots of facial hair and sneakers, that's not a gender identity thing; that's a bad crossdresser who doesn't know better than to "dress" at home and not at work.
Companies are still allowed a dress code and are still allowed to have basic standards of presentability. The person you depicted there is NOT presentable in any way, shape or form. I don't think there are any trans people of any type that I know who would think dressing like that for work is appropriate.
On the contrary, companies have been sued and lost for attempting to maintain a dress code.
Granted, my person was on purpose, over the top for the shock of it. Most transgenders blend in very well and are fully accepted as their changed sex - at least they should be, so transexuals really aren't an issue.
You, sir, are a hateful bigot. You have no idea what transsexuals are actually like. If you had any clue at all, you would have known better than to call us "transvestites" and you would understand that the majority of us blend in with the rest of society pretty damn well. The ones who don't pass as well as they would like, or don't have the proper documentation yet, people like you make it more difficult for us to live which is part of why life is tough for us.
Fine. Then you show me the legislation out there that DOES protect me from employeer discrimination. As it stands, I've already lost jobs simply because I've told employeers that I'm planning to transition and I'm trying to work with them; what would you have me do in the future to protect myself?
I'm sorry you've lost jobs like this. Frankly, I don't have the answer for you. You've done the right thing in attempting to work with them. I would imagine the type of job makes all the difference as well.
I hope you have a safe, healthy transition and are fully accepted in your employment circles and respected for you who are.
You are NOT in any way, a reflection of this video. I hope you believe that.
Maybe not, but ENDA does have a huge impact on me, personally. If it passes, it will be easier to find and keep work. If not, I have to struggle to maintain boymode (which can be difficult in my profession) until I have enough ducks in a row that I can simply go find another job if they do fire me.
Get a CLUE!!! First off Transvestites are not full time time. This is to help people who are transgendered. You may have seen plenty around you and had no idea they were. This video is appalling and very offensive! People that made this video are nothing more the new age Nazis and I am using the term correctly!
But, truth is, "transgenders" can't go all the way just like that. Surgery is expensive (for which, we need money and, as a result, a job) and you have to spend a minimum of 1 year living 100% of your time as the desired gender to be approved for surgery. How are we supposed to survive that year when we have to face as much discrimination as we do? And we don't deserve employment protection?
"And that person's decision could seriously impact the revenue of that business. Fire Departments won't hire a 300 pound woman because she can't do the job."
I do not see how a gender change or wearing the attire of the other sex would impact the company's revenue, nor why this would influence their ability to do the job. Being able to perform a job to a companies standards is not related to gender (change) or whether you wear a skirt or pants.
Keep in mind, transgenders and transvestites represent a very small group in the realm of society.
Some people see it as a behavioral disorder, some as a spiritual issue, some abnormal behavior.
As such, there are businesses that could be seriously impacted, such as are illustrated in the video.
A grade school janitor to a day care receptionist to a church receptionist to a car salesmen to any sector that has to deal with the public, could seriously impact a companies business.
"Some people see it as a behavioral disorder, some as a spiritual issue, some abnormal behavior." - Yes, lets all just make it even more negative. Lets stigmatise it more and expell them even more. When we stop this and just love eachother like all our faiths and believes depict us, this legislation will not be necessary.
going by this trail of thought, i'm bipolar and have borderline personality disorder. some see this as a behaviorial disorder, some as a spiritual issue, some as abnormal behavior..... do you get my point?
Politicians are completely out of touch and totally out of control. They no more believe they work for us - the American people - than any unchecked spoiled rotten little kid.
Barney Frank's entire identity is wrapped up in forcing an agenda, and his dogged determinism is obsessed with legitimizing and cramming his agenda down everyone's throat.
Thank you for this video. I have a 5 year old grandson who'll be attending school this fall. What a nightmare this would be. Kids WOULD be fright
Businesses can require standards from their employees. Many have dress and appearance rules. And any person can make the choice to avoid places or situations which involve anything that may go against their own beliefs. And although I don't live an alternative lifestyle, I believe that I am not the one who is to judge other's choices. We all stand before god in judgment, and that is the only judgment that matters!
If ENDA passes, many of those standards and dress codes will be considered discriminatory and removed or the business will be sued.
I'm not a judgmental person, but I don't like my freedoms taken from me. I don't like being told what to do, and I'm sorry, I don't like the look of men dressing up like women any more than I like vomit in my lap.
Requiring non-discrimination is about providing equal protection under the law, about following the Constitution. It's got nothing to do with taking away your freedoms.
Please, every business owner discriminates. Ever see a 300 pound fitness instructor? Ever see a Miss USA with zits all over her face? How about smokers, are they discriminated against?
Especially for gays, equal employment protection is a joke, they maintain above average incomes. Show me the discrimination! In short, they require no special protections. As a business owner, don't try to force me to hire some shabby cross dresser - ain't happening - there's my freedom.
An amendment was introduced that exempts religious businesses. The military and religious organizations are already exempt. The whole purpose of Miss USA is to discriminate, based on appearance, so if you go into that then that's voluntary.
You know, the first time I see a transvestite working at Hooters is the last time I'll be seen at Hooters. This bill WILL, and we all know it, KILL public business operations.
I've watched almost all your vids and i gotta say, you make Obama and his liberals look "stupid". You are spreading the truth so keep making more vids because you're doing an awesome job.
I didn't realize men who dressed like woman were allowed in the ladies room.......
Either way...there is a decorum for the office world and certain areas - and their appearance can be scrutizinized if it affects their place of work. I still think gay people should get some protection - because even if someone doesn't believe in their lifestyle doesn't mean they have the right to go beat them up.
Although interestingly enough most crossdressers aren't gay.
It really annoys me how they try to take something so ugly and put a bow on it by giving it a name like "Employment non-discrimination Act." They did the same thing with the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act".
To those who are ignorant of what this truly is, they'll just blindly support it. God forbid and God help us.
Lets be serious. How many transsexuals do you know that look like that? As a member of the gay community AND a republican, this is ridiculous. If someone walked into my business dressed like that, I would turn them away. Would I get sued, yes. And will I be able to prove that they are NOT a transsexual, YES! There is more to it then dressing like a woman. I can guarantee you, that you have meet a transsexual and have not realized it. Your impression/view of a transsexual is incredibly skewed.
This enitre presentation does not even address transexuals but transvestites, in fact, the word tranvestite is even used in the video.
You don't even have to be gay to be a transvestite. My point, and I think you would agree with me, is men dressed up like women can be, could be, a very scary (or funny) thing.
This addressed gender identity in the legislation, a transexual has become the opposite sex. Hope I cleared that up.
any morons who support this bill and ANY "anti-discrimination" laws need to read the politically incorrect guide to capitalism.
Employers have a right to hire and fire anyone they want. They choose to buy the services of their employees. To say otherwise is tantamount to forcing people to buy from businesses owned and operated by people of certain races/sexualities
I understand the problem, but the legislation may not have been written to account for or reflect all the permutations, consequential scenarios.
I have no love for Barney... I am disgusted with him for reasons other than sexual orientation. I understand traditional Christrian morals on this issue as well.
As it stands I'm not in favor , but I'm not seriously opposed either, as case by case the statute can be evolved to suit the majority.
If there was some statistics that could verify gays are discriminated against I could understand someone making such a legistlative proposal. But the truth is, gays are above average with income. Obviously they are NOT being discriminated against for work.
Secondly, I think we have a lot more important things on the table right now.
I agree.. but gay muggings are not fantasy and nor are racially motivated ones.
The intent I feel is similar to civil rights legislation of the 60's and that's fine by me. By integration a more educated perspective.
The thing is we have to be right on both sides because both sides have truths. It's not all right or left, we have to cherry pick whats good from both sides and make it work for all of us.
Further, anyone murders anyone is a hate crime - right?
How about when a gay rapes and murders a straight? Or is it all one-sided? Gays can't hate, only straights can hate and therefore be capable of a hate crime.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on finding common ground. America has become so polarized.
the intent is to expose homosexuals to heterosexuals. To remove the ignorance about the condition and by doing so remove the hate. Similar to the fear associated with differences between white and black not to mention culture and religion.
Most fears are based on ignorence, and fear breeds hate. we both know this...
I don't pretend to say homosexuals are normal, that is also obvious, but I do have empathy for the "condition"
Murder has many motivations, it's not about that at all.
I agree to a degree. Fact is, most people are in some way interacting with gays everyday and don't know it. In that light, people are already exposed to homosexuals.
atoyta what condition do you talk of? homosexuality transvestites and transexuals are all a choice they make not a condition. a birth defect is a condition. befor you reply that homosexuality is a birth defect it could be cured with proper hormone treatments. if it was ever deemed to be a birth defect. I say again it is a choice they make
It's been widely studied and understood by many that this is not a choice, but occurs at birth. Call it a defect, I can agree that it is.. makes no difference.
I'm not sure a "cure" has been developed, but even were that true asking them to partake of it is beyond our rights and infringing on theirs.
Also demanding them to go against their nature is equal to asking everyone to abstain from sex until married.
see you boil it back down to choice.i would never have them forced to do anything.if they have hoomomes to help change sexes then surely the hormones could be used to return the proper levels of the sex the person was born. but if the hormones are available and they choose not to use them to restore their hormones to the proper level of the sex the person was born. then they choose to be what they are.
Hi Atoyota, it has been widely studied, and in spite of the many groups seeking to find some evidence of genetic behavior in sexual orientation, they have found none.
Further, the many many people who were once gay and are now living happy heterosexual lives further suggests it could be a learned behavior as well.
If it occured at birth, the ability to "switch" would not be an option.
Hi friend. Whether a person is born that way or not makes no difference to me. The problem is, so what if you really are born that way? Some people are born ill-tempered with a tendency towards violence. Does that give them the right to treat people poorly and go around beating others up just because they were "born that way"? Certainly not. Thus, people should not get special rights just because they prefer to have sex with one sex over the other, whether born that way or not.
Violence is not usually consented and even if it were, I'd think that behavior best managed as it is a risk to others.
But if two like minded individuals feel they can only consummate their love for one another as homosexuals, I'm fine with it. I'd rather not see it displayed publicly, that's another debate separate from this topic of it in the workplace.
So short answer is you need to give me a more valid example.
I kind of strayed from my original point. My point is simply that people should not have special protected status, nor should they be given preferential treatment in regards to hiring, firing, promotion, demotion, etc. based on the sex of the person they have a relationship with. Jobs should go to the most qualified person, period. And special protection should not exist for anyone regardless of color, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc. We should all be treated the same.
I'll add (because i left this obvious part unanswered) being black does not make you innocent when you are racist, as being homosexual does not preclude you from hate or any other crime including pedophelia.
Same token... it does not also make you predisposed... it's case by case or the individual.
You are correct once again. Paul stated very clearly, it is not for us to judge those outside the church.
I have absolutely no problem with gay people. And since I have members of my own family who are gay, and whom I love dearly, I'm quite comfortable around gay people, as long as we don't start talking politics or religion, ha.
Can you provide one example of a gay man raping and murdering a straight man? No? Maybe that's why its one sided, because thats the only way it happens.
Are you kidding me? How about the Duke University Administrator who repeatedly raped his adopted 5 year old son? And then tried to sell the child to someone else for sex?
There are many examples of this, it's out there although the news attempts to hide it.
Lastly, what does your comment have to do with transvestites who are mostly heterosexual?
You gave an example of child molestation/pedophilia, which is obviously wrong, but that was not the question. The question was, can you give one example of a gay man raping and then murdering a straight man? you seem to think this happens all the time, yet you can't site one example.
Jesse Dirkhising, 13, raped, tortured, & murdered by homosexual "partners" in Bentonville, Arkansas, also.
The New York Times, Washington Post, & USA Today NEVER reported this. Neither did NBC, ABC, CBS or CNN.
Kennedy & Gephardt used the tragic Matthew Shepherd case over & over, but never once mentioned this case.
Liberal bias in the media does not concern itself with reporting truth; just an agenda. Why does rape have to be proven to prevent such ugliness f/children who are innocent
Thanks so much for posting this. I remember this story from a couple years ago, but didn't have many of the facts and didn't want to through up a vague recollection - thanks to the media blackout on this case, which by the way was far more henious, more hateful and abusive than Shepherd, which had nothing to do with his orientation.
The big difference there is that Jesse was NOT targeted specifically because he's heterosexual; far too many gay men and women are targeted for violence and some are still murdered simply for being themselves. It's even more true for transsexuals Every year, we have a list of names of new people who died directly from transphobia.
I would have to see the stats on that. I know the media would be all over it.
I have a live and let live philosophy, but that also pertains to small business owners who should be able to hire people based on a person's ability to do the job AND represent the company in a socially acceptable manner.
For the government to force privately owned companies to hire anybody, is wrong.
What your saying about the Duke University Admin is scarry and if true its evil. But, what does this have to do with transgenderism? Could you have been more stereotyped in the depiction of transgenders? This is pure fearmongering.
More than that; it's pure ignorance, stupidity and prejudice. When people that they don't understand exist, this guy prefers to just shove them under the rug and pretend they aren't there rather than actually learn about them and figure out who we are.
First, this entire video doens't even address transgenders, and if you read the legislative prose carefully, you'll see they are not talking about transgenders. The Duke Admin was gay, not a transgender by the way.
I dont see why any group should be treated like this, whether they are transvestite, transgendered, gay, red-haired- yellow skinned or whatever. If a companies dresscode allows dresses fro women i dont see why not for men. Also, it is more then common transvestation and transgenderism are shoved on the same pile and misunderstood and expelled. I am truly appaled by this video. It attempts to raise hatred and fear against people who are different for what reason or another.
My video explains why not. Do you really think a day care center would stay open if men were running around in dresses?
My purpose is not, nor has it ever been to raise hatred at all. But to expose poor legislation who once again goes after the private sector with big government tyranny and regulation.
Some companied won't hire smokers.
Fire Departments won't hire a 300 pound woman because she can't do the job, is it discrimination, sure! Everyone discriminates everyday.
Maybe you didn't hear about the teenage boy that two gay men kidnapped in Arkansas a few years ago. They sodomized him and while he was tied up he suffocated. Where was the press that was outraged over Matthew Shepard? They didn't want to cover this story.
So if a white dude hangs out in a dress will he get that promotion? Dust of the wifes dress and demand more!!!! white str8 men of America! Then sue like hell! This could be a great thing.

I campaigned for McCain because he was honest. Obama campaigned to end the war like the Democrats did in 2006. We are now into 2010 and still....
Point is, he used our fighting men and women out in harms way like pawns for political power.
NOTE: I wasn't a big McCain fan either. He would have been Bush II the sequel, that's the one thing Obama got right.

How is Enda DEMANDING that crossdressers get hired?
Im pretty sure that ENDA is trying to pass a non discrimination bill, so you cant be FIRED or discriminated against at the work place for being
Trans, Gay, Lesbian, or Bi.
And as RyonaRaine said, Trans people with gender identity are not simply men in dresses.
You sir, are a bigot.

There goes the name calling. At least try to be more original. Sticks and stones!
I think I spelled out the specific legislative words that indicate you could be sued if you DIDN"T hire a transvestite.

You are correct, this is NOT targeted towards transsexuals at all.
Most crossdressers are usually straight yet this legislation will allow them to use a womans restroom.
It could also seriously harm business.

I do wonder, why is the word "Transgender"

This is an obvious attempt to promote hatred toward a specific group. And thats why I have flagged it

That was the change people wanted There was NO mandate for pushing this radical social agenda on the American people, nor to ban guns
mooninquirer 2 years ago
So are you saying that it is okay to call a gay man a faggot and fire them for their sexuality? Considering you campaigned for the President, what ever made you think he would feel differently on the subject? How would you feel if your house was burned down by someone because of your gender? Or if you were fired from your job because of your nationality? You have no control over who you are.

It's just that it is quite to degrading, let alone inaccurate
kingbiff18 2 years ago 2
Please note, I did not address transgender people in this video at all. In fact, the section I quoted refers ONLY to transvestites.
If you've gone that extra mile and became fully woman, you ARE!
In fact, ENDA wouldn't even apply to you or any transgender.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
I agree, but only to an extent. That example, yes, I agree. However, what about transgendered people who are passing as women? Or those who are making great attempts to? Do you still think they should be barred the rights listed in EDNA?
I can assure you, the example's shown in this video, are rare and a very small percentage of the transgender community. However, I still have the question I would like answered:
What about trans women who pass and live as women?
Ashleetorin 2 years ago
A man who has become a woman is a woman and should be treated as such.

Awesome. I totally agree, and, with that part known, I totally agree with this video. Thank you for this. I'm fed up with men in wigs trying to claim they are no different than others such as myself.

Airethilien 2 years ago 2
I'll bet all the smokers in America would agree with you on this one.....yet!
Please keep in mind the topic at hand. Yes we are all human, yes, ALL should have equal rights, ALL should have respect.
But please understand, the topic at hand is so far removed from "normalcy" in America, it's very hard for people to understand and/or grasp.
It is these kinds of conversations that open people up to the unknown. I've been enjoying these conversations, some valid points are being made.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Also, why does the video emphasize on the congressman being gay? What is actually being disputed? Homosexuals? Transvestites? Transsexuals? It sounds to me its all being sweeped onto the always present big pile of badness, again.
Airethilien 2 years ago 2
Well, this video breaks ENDA into 2 categories, sexual identity (which I don't go into) and gender identity which is specifically transvestites.
Once a transgender has made the switch, there's no confusion about sex.
Barney is sponsoring the legislation, and mentioning he's gay adds to the fire the entire gay agenda thing, which many people feel is far too aggressive.
That's why it was mentioned that way.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
"...could seriously impact a companies business"
Only if they and the public they cater to allow themselves to be ruled by their fear of something they do not know. We are all clear-thinking people and we should know better then this and its a very bad thing this legislation is NEEDED because we all cant make out for ourselves we are doing other people wrong who do no one harm.
Airethilien 2 years ago
But the public is ruled by fear and afraid of the unknown! That's just the reality. I'm not saying its fair. Nothing in life is fair. We all are thrown curve balls we have to live with.
And it would affect some business negatively.
Yes, dialogue is called for. I feel I've gotten to know some of the people I've been sharing with, and I like them. They have been civil, respectful, articulate and present a very good argument, as you did here.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Also you may not have attempted to raise hatred but the website of the organization that is responsible for creating this video clearly is one aimed at raising fear and hatred against homosexuals. How can we expect a clear and non-hatred-filled opinion from them and believe their aim is 'only' at transvestites (which is gruesome already) when they compare homosexuals to pedophiles?!?!
Airethilien 2 years ago
I have not seen that comparison, homosexuals to pedophiles.
I would suggest a one on one interview with Peter LeBarbara, I'll film it. Let's start a dialogue, a debate.
Some have made some very good points here and the goal should be removing disinformation and providing education. Education overcomes fear. Education enlightens. Education can bring us all together.
This is a debate/discussion long overdue.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
That i agree to. Ignorance brings fear. But we need to watch for lies fed by hatred.
Airethilien 2 years ago
I should also mention that while employers would no longer be forced to not hire someone based simply on gender identity, they WOULD still be allowed to have basic social rules based on appearing presentable. If you have a big, fat beer gut, lots of facial hair and sneakers, that's not a gender identity thing; that's a bad crossdresser who doesn't know better than to "dress" at home and not at work.
FindingTara 2 years ago
Ah, so let's discriminate against people who are poor dressers, don't shave or have big guts, mmmmmm.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Companies are still allowed a dress code and are still allowed to have basic standards of presentability. The person you depicted there is NOT presentable in any way, shape or form. I don't think there are any trans people of any type that I know who would think dressing like that for work is appropriate.
FindingTara 2 years ago
On the contrary, companies have been sued and lost for attempting to maintain a dress code.
Granted, my person was on purpose, over the top for the shock of it. Most transgenders blend in very well and are fully accepted as their changed sex - at least they should be, so transexuals really aren't an issue.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
You, sir, are a hateful bigot. You have no idea what transsexuals are actually like. If you had any clue at all, you would have known better than to call us "transvestites" and you would understand that the majority of us blend in with the rest of society pretty damn well. The ones who don't pass as well as they would like, or don't have the proper documentation yet, people like you make it more difficult for us to live which is part of why life is tough for us.
FindingTara 2 years ago
Again, name calling does not affect me in the least, sticks and stones.
But you need to watch this again and take notes, please tell me where I'm addressing transgenders?
This video is all about TRANSVESTITES, which are just as much heterosexual as homosexual.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Fine. Then you show me the legislation out there that DOES protect me from employeer discrimination. As it stands, I've already lost jobs simply because I've told employeers that I'm planning to transition and I'm trying to work with them; what would you have me do in the future to protect myself?
FindingTara 2 years ago
Hi Tara,
I'm sorry you've lost jobs like this.
I hope you believe that.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Maybe not, but ENDA does have a huge impact on me, personally. If it passes, it will be easier to find and keep work. If not, I have to struggle to maintain boymode (which can be difficult in my profession) until I have enough ducks in a row that I can simply go find another job if they do fire me.
FindingTara 2 years ago
Get a CLUE!!! First off Transvestites are not full time time. This is to help people who are transgendered. You may have seen plenty around you and had no idea they were. This video is appalling and very offensive! People that made this video are nothing more the new age Nazis and I am using the term correctly!
UFGQNN 2 years ago
No, read the legislation again, those who lean towards one gender that may be oppositie of their own, that's NOT transgenders!
I have no problem with transgenders, they've gone all the way and they should be treated as the sex they have become.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
But, truth is, "transgenders" can't go all the way just like that. Surgery is expensive (for which, we need money and, as a result, a job) and you have to spend a minimum of 1 year living 100% of your time as the desired gender to be approved for surgery. How are we supposed to survive that year when we have to face as much discrimination as we do? And we don't deserve employment protection?
FindingTara 2 years ago
Now this is a very good point Tara.
But what happens when that person is in the Boy Scouts? Or an official at the YMCA? Or a church receptionst? Or works in daycare?
The company didn't change, the person did. And that person's decision could seriously impact the revenue of that business.
Lastly, do we really want the government imposing even more regulations and dictates on small business in America, I say no.
I do appreciate a transgenders actual year of change.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
"And that person's decision could seriously impact the revenue of that business. Fire Departments won't hire a 300 pound woman because she can't do the job."
I do not see how a gender change or wearing the attire of the other sex would impact the company's revenue, nor why this would influence their ability to do the job. Being able to perform a job to a companies standards is not related to gender (change) or whether you wear a skirt or pants.
Airethilien 2 years ago
Keep in mind, transgenders and transvestites represent a very small group in the realm of society.
Some people see it as a behavioral disorder, some as a spiritual issue, some abnormal behavior.
As such, there are businesses that could be seriously impacted, such as are illustrated in the video.
A grade school janitor to a day care receptionist to a church receptionist to a car salesmen to any sector that has to deal with the public, could seriously impact a companies business.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
"Some people see it as a behavioral disorder, some as a spiritual issue, some abnormal behavior." - Yes, lets all just make it even more negative. Lets stigmatise it more and expell them even more. When we stop this and just love eachother like all our faiths and believes depict us, this legislation will not be necessary.
Airethilien 2 years ago
Not trying to make it more negative, but that's the truth. This is great dialogue, and perhaps it will sway some minds. I enjoy your conversation.
I hope we can reach that point some day.

Businesses can require standards from their employees. Many have dress and appearance rules. And any person can make the choice to avoid places or situations which involve anything that may go against their own beliefs. And although I don't live an alternative lifestyle, I believe that I am not the one who is to judge other's choices. We all stand before god in judgment, and that is the only judgment that matters!
ajmarx74 2 years ago
If ENDA passes, many of those standards and dress codes will be considered discriminatory and removed or the business will be sued.
I'm not a judgmental person, but I don't like my freedoms taken from me. I don't like being told what to do, and I'm sorry, I don't like the look of men dressing up like women any more than I like vomit in my lap.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Requiring non-discrimination is about providing equal protection under the law, about following the Constitution. It's got nothing to do with taking away your freedoms.
joshatkins94 2 years ago
Please, every business owner discriminates. Ever see a 300 pound fitness instructor? Ever see a Miss USA with zits all over her face? How about smokers, are they discriminated against?
Especially for gays, equal employment protection is a joke, they maintain above average incomes. Show me the discrimination! In short, they require no special protections. As a business owner, don't try to force me to hire some shabby cross dresser - ain't happening - there's my freedom.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
An amendment was introduced that exempts religious businesses. The military and religious organizations are already exempt. The whole purpose of Miss USA is to discriminate, based on appearance, so if you go into that then that's voluntary.

Although interestingly enough most crossdressers aren't gay.
shonester 2 years ago
ENDA will allow crossdressers in the alternate restroom.
I also want to comment that gays should NOT be discriminated against in the work place. But then again, how does someone discern gaity?
Last I looked, gays are doing just fine in the employment arena, in fact, their income is above the norm.
And yes, most crossdressers are not gay.

JoshSousa 2 years ago

To say otherwise is tantamount to forcing people to buy from businesses owned and operated by people of certain races/sexualities
migkillertwo 2 years ago
I understand the problem, but the legislation may not have been written to account for or reflect all the permutations, consequential scenarios.
I have no love for Barney... I am disgusted with him for reasons other than sexual orientation. I understand traditional Christrian morals on this issue as well.
As it stands I'm not in favor , but I'm not seriously opposed either, as case by case the statute can be evolved to suit the majority.
Atoyota 2 years ago
If there was some statistics that could verify gays are discriminated against I could understand someone making such a legistlative proposal. But the truth is, gays are above average with income. Obviously they are NOT being discriminated against for work.
Secondly, I think we have a lot more important things on the table right now.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
I agree.. but gay muggings are not fantasy and nor are racially motivated ones.
The intent I feel is similar to civil rights legislation of the 60's and that's fine by me. By integration a more educated perspective.
The thing is we have to be right on both sides because both sides have truths. It's not all right or left, we have to cherry pick whats good from both sides and make it work for all of us.
Atoyota 2 years ago
ENDA has nothing to do with hate crimes.
Further, anyone murders anyone is a hate crime - right?
How about when a gay rapes and murders a straight? Or is it all one-sided? Gays can't hate, only straights can hate and therefore be capable of a hate crime.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on finding common ground. America has become so polarized.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
the intent is to expose homosexuals to heterosexuals.
Atoyota 2 years ago
I agree to a degree. Fact is, most people are in some way interacting with gays everyday and don't know it. In that light, people are already exposed to homosexuals.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
atoyta what condition do you talk of? homosexuality transvestites and transexuals are all a choice they make not a condition. a birth defect is a condition. befor you reply that homosexuality is a birth defect it could be cured with proper hormone treatments. if it was ever deemed to be a birth defect. I say again it is a choice they make
buster81365 2 years ago
It's been widely studied and understood by many that this is not a choice, but occurs at birth. Call it a defect, I can agree that it is.. makes no difference.
I'm not sure a "cure" has been developed, but even were that true asking them to partake of it is beyond our rights and infringing on theirs.
Also demanding them to go against their nature is equal to asking everyone to abstain from sex until married.
So... let's be fair OK?
Atoyota 2 years ago 3
see you boil it back down to choice.i would never have them forced to do anything.if they have hoomomes to help change sexes then surely the hormones could be used to return the proper levels of the sex the person was born. but if the hormones are available and they choose not to use them to restore their hormones to the proper level of the sex the person was born. then they choose to be what they are.
buster81365 2 years ago
Hi Atoyota, it has been widely studied, and in spite of the many groups seeking to find some evidence of genetic behavior in sexual orientation, they have found none.
Further, the many many people who were once gay and are now living happy heterosexual lives further suggests it could be a learned behavior as well.
If it occured at birth, the ability to "switch" would not be an option.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
JERice7 2 years ago
Easy answer to that is consent.
Atoyota 2 years ago 2
I kind of strayed from my original point. My point is simply that people should not have special protected status, nor should they be given preferential treatment in regards to hiring, firing, promotion, demotion, etc. based on the sex of the person they have a relationship with. Jobs should go to the most qualified person, period. And special protection should not exist for anyone regardless of color, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc. We should all be treated the same.
JERice7 2 years ago
I absolutely agree with that, although I'd include sexual orientation, and also appearance (where appearance is not part of the job description).
That could include cross dressing, but not sexual orientation.
Meaning the examples posed in this video would not be working for me :p
I realized they were exaggerated for affect, but that did not sway me from making my point.
Atoyota 2 years ago
I'll add (because i left this obvious part unanswered) being black does not make you innocent when you are racist, as being homosexual does not preclude you from hate or any other crime including pedophelia.
Same token... it does not also make you predisposed... it's case by case or the individual.
I want fair. I want free.
I'm not naive,
Atoyota 2 years ago
I very much agree!
weneedmccain 2 years ago
lol i'm not gay either, but i've watched the debate for years and have come to my conclusions.
As for religion? judge not lest ye be judged. And at this point people scream "it's in the bible that gay is wrong"
And yet... I'm not so sure the interpretation of that is right. I'd rather just leave it up to the big guy in the sky.
Atoyota 2 years ago
You are correct once again. Paul stated very clearly, it is not for us to judge those outside the church.
I have absolutely no problem with gay people. And since I have members of my own family who are gay, and whom I love dearly, I'm quite comfortable around gay people, as long as we don't start talking politics or religion, ha.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
I do agree with red lights going off with this proposed legislation.
It comes with very real risks and shock to those reared in environments that are very prejudicial.
I'm just defending the intent, and possibly suggesting finding a better way to go about this.
Atoyota 2 years ago
Can you provide one example of a gay man raping and murdering a straight man? No? Maybe that's why its one sided, because thats the only way it happens.
chloepixie 2 years ago
Are you kidding me? How about the Duke University Administrator who repeatedly raped his adopted 5 year old son? And then tried to sell the child to someone else for sex?
There are many examples of this, it's out there although the news attempts to hide it.
Lastly, what does your comment have to do with transvestites who are mostly heterosexual?
weneedmccain 2 years ago
You gave an example of child molestation/pedophilia, which is obviously wrong, but that was not the question. The question was, can you give one example of a gay man raping and then murdering a straight man? you seem to think this happens all the time, yet you can't site one example.
chloepixie 2 years ago
Jesse Dirkhising, 13, raped, tortured, & murdered by homosexual "partners" in Bentonville, Arkansas, also.
The New York Times, Washington Post, & USA Today NEVER reported this. Neither did NBC, ABC, CBS or CNN.
Kennedy & Gephardt used the tragic Matthew Shepherd case over & over, but never once mentioned this case.
Liberal bias in the media does not concern itself with reporting truth; just an agenda. Why does rape have to be proven to prevent such ugliness f/children who are innocent
arslp 2 years ago
Thanks so much for posting this. I remember this story from a couple years ago, but didn't have many of the facts and didn't want to through up a vague recollection - thanks to the media blackout on this case, which by the way was far more henious, more hateful and abusive than Shepherd, which had nothing to do with his orientation.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Read about the above Arkansas case. Again, the media blackout was amazing since this was far more brutal than the Shepard incident.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
The big difference there is that Jesse was NOT targeted specifically because he's heterosexual; far too many gay men and women are targeted for violence and some are still murdered simply for being themselves. It's even more true for transsexuals Every year, we have a list of names of new people who died directly from transphobia.
FindingTara 2 years ago
I would have to see the stats on that. I know the media would be all over it.
I have a live and let live philosophy, but that also pertains to small business owners who should be able to hire people based on a person's ability to do the job AND represent the company in a socially acceptable manner.
For the government to force privately owned companies to hire anybody, is wrong.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
What your saying about the Duke University Admin is scarry and if true its evil. But, what does this have to do with transgenderism? Could you have been more stereotyped in the depiction of transgenders? This is pure fearmongering.
iVictoriaX 2 years ago
More than that; it's pure ignorance, stupidity and prejudice. When people that they don't understand exist, this guy prefers to just shove them under the rug and pretend they aren't there rather than actually learn about them and figure out who we are.
FindingTara 2 years ago
First, this entire video doens't even address transgenders, and if you read the legislative prose carefully, you'll see they are not talking about transgenders. The Duke Admin was gay, not a transgender by the way.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
Again, this video is not about transgenders at all, it's about transvestites who are just as much heterosexual as homosexual.
My depictions are accurate, according to the legislation.
weneedmccain 2 years ago
I dont see why any group should be treated like this, whether they are transvestite, transgendered, gay, red-haired- yellow skinned or whatever. If a companies dresscode allows dresses fro women i dont see why not for men. Also, it is more then common transvestation and transgenderism are shoved on the same pile and misunderstood and expelled. I am truly appaled by this video. It attempts to raise hatred and fear against people who are different for what reason or another.
Airethilien 2 years ago
My video explains why not. Do you really think a day care center would stay open if men were running around in dresses?
My purpose is not, nor has it ever been to raise hatred at all. But to expose poor legislation who once again goes after the private sector with big government tyranny and regulation.
Some companied won't hire smokers.
Fire Departments won't hire a 300 pound woman because she can't do the job, is it discrimination, sure! Everyone discriminates everyday.
