  • thumbs up for taking asus back

  • Acer all the way!

  • Asus EEE the best ( for me )

  • acer has 1.3 mp too

  • How many cells does the Asus battery has?

  • ACER FOR LIFE!!!!!

  • You can change that battery to a 3cell and it doest stick out!!!!!!

  • can you do a vid of how to change backround

  • hey dumbass if u dont like the battery on the acer get the 3cell fuck tard

  • 50% of your review focused on aesthetics, but how's the boot up time between the two and performance?

  • My birthday is coming up and I dont know if I should get the Acer 10.1 or 11.6? Any suggestions?

  • acer sux go asus

  • my asus has the same problem, so i took it to best buy and demanded them give me a new one and they said that it was my fault the buttons are tight, and my $70 warranty doesnt cover thhat!

  • you are moron. do not wonder why. you are....

  • i use the arrow keys or arrow+fn for page down when you scroll up and down a website. beats any kind of pad. there is also the multithouch thingy but the keyboard is 90% of what you need to navigate.

also good luck with you battery life on the acer. all people i know who have the acer netbook have stopped using it because the battery is total shit and they cant be bothered to bring it anywhere. acer is also total crap. they are well known for their crappy notbooks.

  • can you play world of warcraft on the acer

  • i have the ssame asus as you. i love it! and u just have an defective one, mine clicks pefectly.also people say it cant run to many programs, i was runing 4 very demanding programs and it worked great.

  • Its pronounced 'Aces'.

  • how much is the Asus 1000HE?

  • about 370 bucks depending on where you buy it i just orderd mine off of amazon for 374 and it has free shiping :D

  • stupid the reason the acer has the reflection is cause u didnt take off the plastic on the screen asshole

  • Actually it's because of the glossy screen. Do yourself and the world a favor and go jump in a river or something.

  • DUH the Acer is much smaller and the asus is much bigger

  • Comment removed

  • are you serious

  • Alienware is the #1 gaming laptop but its too expensive also and the cheapest gaming laptop but its good too is Eurocom D900F Panther

  • i just dont trust asus because it has never har expirience in the market, and i think is not a valuable company.

  • I'm getting an 1000he soon, so i don't know if it´s gonna be a problem, but if it is, i will:

    a) Try to use only the touchpad with multitouch combos

or b) get one of those mini usb mice

  • esus suks the acers battery is a 6 cell so it is gonna stick out

  • The 1000he is 6 cell too.

  • the asus has a 6 cell battery too you moron

  • I never need to use 1000he's touchpad buttons, since it has multitouch. Three finger tap equals right click. And by the way, a single tap means single left click, a double tap with a held off second tap lets you drag objects. There's no need to use the touchpad buttons at all.

  • I really like your revews, i am buying a netbook and i cannot decide between the acer and the asus. your reveiw really helped me make my decision, the asus is out. I type and click a lot and i absolutely HATE having to press really hard on a keypad,,, thanks!

  • if you push down on the top of the button, then I see why it's so hard. But if you press where the button begins to slope (which is not awkward at all), then it presses very easily. I naturally started to use the sloped part of the button rather than the top. I can't see why you're so hung up on pressing it from the top only. The ASUS is worlds better than your Acer (my father has the Acer, and I the ASUS) in performance, and pretty much every aspect. My advice is to get used to the button.

  • It is true the buttons are loud, but as you said, pressing towards the bottom of the buttons makes them way easier to click.

I generally tap to click anyways, so I really could care less about the buttons.

  • i found that really amusing lol. a button is a button lol and it mite just be that you have really weak fingers and cant do it lol but v seen worse buttons lool i cant beleive you sending it back over that lmfao!!! so funny 5/5

  • i wish they had a eeepc 1000he white, on their site they have it in many colors, but just black and blue on amazon, i really like white netbooks, not so many fingerprints

  • y dont u just scroll using the multi touch?

  • thanks for the review, i was so about to purchase the acer online good thing i didnt the battery protuding out is sooo ugly i didnt even notice that

  • because youre poor

  • he didnt ask why he didnt have both he asked why the man in the video had both

    are you dumb

  • poor man supporting another poor man.

  • why did you buy the acer knowing that it would have the protruding battery?

  • Maybe he was always intending to return the one he liked the least

  • Very good review 5/5

  • I will admit that the buttons are little hard to push, but I got used to it. It is a multi-touch touchpad and there are gestures you can use instead, but you said you are used to doing it the old fashion way, so cool. You pointed out all the reasons why I got the Asus instead of the Acer. The battery, the cam, and the screen. Nice comparison although I don't agree with you on the touchpad issue, but everyone has their opinions.

  • are you a retard? asus has 1) better battery life 2) better cpu (n80 vs n70) 3) better keyboard 4 ) better screen and you are going to choose the acer over the asus based only on the mouse click button? your loss. major loss.

  • This man speaks the truth. The Asus is much better for it's value. Better battery, better processor, 92% size keyboard, multi-touch features. Also Asus designed the battery to meet the size of a netbook, unlike the protruding Acer battery.

  • Hey you dont need to use the click keys. Just tap the track pad? twice for doubble clicks. But you will need to use it for click-and-drags. Maybe invest in a wireless mouse?

Again ASUS is top of the food chain for Computers (period). unless u got a Deal, but even then u get what u pay!...

I was gona buy the 1000HE but i am a gamer. No one has done game testing on it with Counter-strike, crysis,COD4.UT etc.

    Currently using Asus Z70va ATI X700 128(1680x1050 / 1.6Ghz, 2GB/ 15'! 4years USED july!

  • u are right but I never use the buttons. its all track pad. even scrolling is track pad 2 fingers. Swip back.

If you are being picky and returning the ASUS bc of that. Good luck with the acer! It will die on you a little over a year when ur warrantee is out. I only buy ASUS or Dell laptops. I bought a ASUS laptop USED off ebay for $500 and is still using it for over 3 years with only RAM upgrade! The battery just died so I use it like a desktop plugged in. I say KEEP the ASUS unless you are *

  • True

  • I've bought two acer laptops over the past two years. The first one lasted three months, and the second one, one year. Then it broke and wouldn't start. So I have totally lost my trust in Acer. Keep the asus!

  • I want to add something. Yesterday I realized that you can middle click tapping the touchpad with two fingers. And today, telling my mom, I was joking saying it was possible to right click using three fingers. I tried it, and in fact it is like that. So its not ever necesary to use the buttons :)

  • Also the second to none battery life, buildquality (it's build like a tank compared to other books), the better webcam, microphone array (2 microphone for very good sound recording or video conferencing on Skype). Also the service and software updates of Asus are good. The battery life of 7-8 hours tested in normal conditions is the most important for me. Only the Samsung NC10 comes even close to the 1000HE.

  • Great review, i am currently looking between the same Asus 1000HE and the Samsung NC10 (i know loads of folks are looking at those 2 specific models as well). I have ordered the Asus 1000HE, i tested the Asus 1000H and i noticed the same problem, the keypad-buttons. Still i recommend the 1000HE because of the faster wireless connection and the non-glossy screen (trust me, you will regret a glossy screen when outside!).

  • Great review! My guess it that the hardness of the touchpad buttons is just temporary and it will loosen up after some time of use.

Anyway I would keep the Asus, even if the buttons would stay like that forever, simply because, as you have mentioned yourself, it is way much better than the Acer in all the other aspects (battery size, display surface and webcam resolution).

I see a "Hybrid Storage" sticker on the Asus: what's the size of the SSD? Does the Acer have an hybrid storage too?

  • (continues) In fact, I prefer a lot more to have a larger battery life and every single other thing you mentioned.

The only thing that bothers me a little is the heat, but I think that's the same for every netbook in the market. At least the keyboard doesn't heat up, neither does the touchpad much, as the previous models did.

  • My left button is kinda like yours, though I don't seem to need as much preassure as I can infer from your video. Maybe my couch is stiffer too. The right button is strange, if you press exactly in the middle of it, then it goes down almost effortlessly (compared to the left button) and without making any noise at all. But if you press the left and right sides of it the noise is even louder than that of the left one. Maybe you can ask for a replacement, I myselft don't care that much about it.

  • I meant to reply to the last comment posted but accidentally removed. Sorry about that. Thanks for letting me know about the "dislocation" problem as well. Its amazing how these details get left out.

  • awesome. just what i've been looking for!

  • The touchpad buttons on the Asus get "broken in" after awhile...mine were stiff at first and they loosened up. I don't see it being worth returning.

  • i hope it does the same on mine, its annoying to here that loud click

  • WOW, this is one of the best comparison review I have seen on Youtube. Great job, esp with the emphasis of the button/touchpad, this is possible one of the most important components in a netbook since the idea of having a netbook is to be mouse-free. The thing I don't like about ALL netbook is the screen border, they are so darn thick which can easily fit an 11.1" inch screen.

  • Thanks
