I have been reading a wonderful novel from Tolstoy, called ''the prisoner of Caucasia'' Kavkazskiy plennik :). In one chapter, an old soldier in the name of Jdanov who enjoys nothing but music in his life which is full of brutal wars, asks another soldier to sing ''Beryozka'' for him and it turns out that it's his favorite song.
I have been searching for that song. I was expecting a long melancholic song, im actually not sure if its exists, does it? and did i find it already?
Thank you for your comment! I'm very glad that thus you found my channel. The performance above is not the song you're looking for. Try to look for Nikolay Gres (The Red Army Choir) - "The Birch Tree" in the Alexandrov Ensemble section on my channel.

Thrilling high spirits! Beautiful to watch!
Now I understand why my Russian
grandmother thought nothing of asking
other women to dance at social occa-
sions! Russian "character" dancing
is as disciplined and accomplished
as ballet dancing! These dancers
have amazing technique, musicality
and are exciting, expressive singers!
Thank you for the wonderful post!
