The RMS Queen Victoria is a breathtaking masterpiece. How Majestic are lines. Even her box stern is elegant. The Queen Victoria looks & is such a cozy, comfortable Liner. It's like walking into a magnifenscent Christmas Mansion. yes sir, Queen Victoria has got to be in her right, the most luxrious vessel ever built by man.
I am a great liner enthusiast and I wish the queen Victoria and queen elizabeth every success for the future- its great to see such investment into the cunard fleet However I think cunard have made a MASSIVE error in the NAMING of these ships and designating them "QUEEN" liners. A QUEEN liner is a LEGENDARY brand- a high speed express transatlantic liner- NOT a cruise ship!!!! Why not use mauritania, aquitania caronia or any of the very well known names?? they have damaged the brand badly
@scabycat You are absolutely right! A Cunard Queen is an extraordinary ship! QV & QE are just VistaClass Ships painted in Cunard Colors. Not any other Vessel has been built so often like this type! Its sad, that Carnival is promoting Cunards history without having understood it! Anyway, i will be on QV again next week -it will be my 10th Cunard cruise and the ship is gorgeous! But the old QE2 or the Caronia would still be my preferred choice - and they carry the right names!
I want to go on Queen Victoria and the QM2 so badly!! Great musical choice for the video. I wonder which is better for a transatlantic crossing? America to Europe or Europe to America?
Fantastic ship and video. Having cruised twice on Queen Mary 2, the grandest ocean liner in the world, we hoped to cruise on QV in 2010. But sadly something came up...we got on the maiden voyage of the new Queen Elizabeth...so 2011 will be the our time on QV....but counting down the days until October 12th 2010 and QE!!!
Thanks for the comments. I look forward to seeing you on the maiden Voyage of the Queen Elizabeth in October. We can meet for a drink in the Commodore Club!
I could only dream of being on a Cunard Liner, Ive seen the QM2 in port 3 times now and really want to have the exprience of being part of Cunard's history, Hope you have a fantastic time on the new Queen Elizabeth!
Yes indeed fantastic video! very well filmed and put together!. I think that QV is a very nice ship and she will appeal to all those people who like ultra modern cruise ships i myself i like older and new ships and I'm hoping to get aboard QV next year. Yes looks like a very nice interior on board QV only thing that got me thinking was why didn't Carnival go for an original design instead of such a mass produced design being a Vista Class cruise ship design.
So yes looks like we will be seeing another Vista Class design and as beautiful as QV's interior and exterior looks QE will be almost the same by the looks of things I watched the Carol Marlow presentation on QE and so it looks like all they're doing is extending some things that have been popular on QV just as she said Cunard well really Carnival really are doing.I just think they should have been more original and gone for a design much more liner like with the new QE as i said.oh well.
What a great video.. I just completed a 7 month contract on board and it was like being there again. However, you left out two of the best places on the ship.. The Royal Court Theater and the Cunard Royal Spa.
Wow, great video! It must've been amazing to be part of a Queens maiden voyage. I love Cunard and hope to sail on the QM2 and QV very soon. I can't wait until they launch the new Queen Elizabeth!
Great tour! Her interior is by by far the best and I have grown to like her exterior. BTW, how did you get access to The Grills if you were staying in a Britannia Balcony? Anyway, 5 stars.
Great job putting this together and the ship is pretty but I'm not overly impressed by her. I do see a "pass the buck to make a buck" mentality with Carnival that has made me overlook their brands. One ship I can ot wait to board is the new Solstice..something new and different.
Although far from perfection, Queen Victoria does it better than QM2 in various ways, especially regarding her interior decoration. Arguably, much closer to what an ordinary mortal expects from Cunard name...
Wonderful! Wonderful! This was a great presentation. 5 stars! However, I must say, I saw a number of things I didn't like about her. One, the Queens Grill Restaurant was unimpressive and cheap looking to me. The exposed pipes in the funnel made her funnel look unfinished and a number of the light fixtures looked cheap as well. She is pretty but I prefer the Queen Mary 2. Of course though, I haven't sailed on either ship so my opinion is just based on photos I've seen.
The Grills of the Queen Mary 2 are still more unimpressive, and target of a long debate...
I wish you (and urge you) to travel on any of those ships as soon as possible (if you have to choose, try the Mary). Even with their imperfections, they are magnificent liners.
Thanks for posting this. Was on the same voyage in 5192...and had a cabin near yours the second voyage! Lovely ship...I know a lot of people think it's too Princess, but I think she's a really lovely ship.
the queen victoria isn't really as good as the queen mary. queen victoria is better looking on the outside, though, and her grand lobby is MUCH better than that in the QM2, but still i like QM2 better.
Thanks so much for this video. I recently cruised on the Queen Victoria, she is amazing! If anyone has any more videos PLEASE post them onto youtube! Thank you...

Keep in mind Princess/P&O designed the QV and markets Cunard, handling the mamnagement of the brand.
The QV is what PRINCESS envisioned its competitor to look like. Cliche, safe, tried before..in short a total let down. Nothing to raise the bar or create disinction in the market.

Will the Queen Victoria be doing transatlantic crossings like her sister the Queen Mary 2?

Cunard is not meant to be a family orientated brand. The carnival brands that market more towards the family are P&O, and Princess (to an extent).
