I found out today that i have had my aim assist off this whole time, and lets just say when you put it back on after 2 months without it life just gets easy.
Is this the actual aim assist? I've been play for a while now and when I "follow" my opponent, I don't get any aim assist. I look in my settings and aim assist is turned on. WTF?

ANYWAY. SOLUTION.
Put trackpads on the controller rather than analog sticks. That way console gamers can use direct movement for aiming rather than trying to time it juuuuuuuust right.
As a PC and Console gamer, I must say, you need skills to play on console. Gamepad is much more harder and definitly needs assist. Mouse and keyboard make everything much more easier. The problem on PC is that all gameplay online is much more faster so, skills are needed too. Opponents will make you think fast and act fast. So, PC vs Console... well they are different. No one is better.
@HyperOpticalSaint you need to think and act faster but the mouse and keyboard helps you on that, because it is much more "natural" to act. On Gamepad things are really different because it is much more harder to play faster... the accuracy and movements are not so easy to do... so on both platforms you have different types of easy and hard things.. if you know what I mean ;)
The point is you are achieving an higher lv of competition with better gears, this true not just in gaming.
Look at tennis, they are playing at a much much higher lv than 30 years ago, in large part thanks to carbon fiber frame and polyester string.
For the very same reason, you are competing at a much higher lv on PC with mouse and keyboard, that's the way it is, aim assist try to mask it, but does not change it.

Some of you guys are morons, number 1. Most PC gamers skilled play CoD 4 NOT black ops. 2. PC has more accuracy, and reflex(quake fails on console for a reason), 3. on black ops i accidentally turned off my auto aim for like a month. my k/d only went down from 1.4 to 1.33 though. but when i turned it back on it was so easy!!!

@Mazter0fRemix two things: first, because it's easier to master mouse-aiming, even the worst pc player can kill you with ease, with no learning curve, you're way more likely to get killed before you can even pull your scope up (cod4) than the kids that cant aim properly on console, second, because of no aim assist, it's easy to barely miss shots on high (relatively) sensitivity because if you twitch just a little bit, you've already come off your target

Aim assist can really screw you over in multiple on one situations. There are times where you could have easily racked up doubles and triples, but the aim assists jerks between multiple enemies, and you end up all over the place.

actually Black Ops and MW2 uses different versions of the engine. MW2's engine is much more updated. Updates make a big difference cause if there were no updates to the engine then we would be playing QUAKE 3.

What your neglecting to mention is aiming is about centering your screen. Also i react so fast and aim i dont even feel it take effect when i do have it on thats the funny part.

Aim assist can really screw you over in multiple on one situations. There are times where you could have easily racked up doubles and triples, but the aim assists jerks between multiple enemies, and you end up all over the place.

Also, I'm talking about I used a crappy keyboard and mouse and still quickscoped better than 90% of the other players on PC, as well as dominating other console players on the console with aim assist off.
And the best part is - I only have about a weeks' experience in PC BO gaming! PC players fucking suck, even on their own platform, I dominated them in their home territory, because they fucking suck.

@ShadowRSonic lol, no self-respecting pc player plays black ops, most of the good players play cod4, and some play mw2...while there's still lots of bk's in those two, pc black ops is a joke...learn the community before you start hating...and try out counterstrike, quake, or cod4 promod before coming back and telling me pc players suck...those are probably the most competitive parts of pc community, not black ops

@ShadowRSonic thats probably why you stomped kids in black ops...cs aim, movements, etc. do translate over to cod...while it doesnt really go the other way...if you were good with awp, scout, etc, its not like you didnt practice things like snapshots, quickscopes (and pistol switching to not need to chamber), and noscopes...so really, you didnt "move" to pc recently, youve been playing it for a while

@SSwizzyMusic WaW's engine is an upgraded version of the COD4 engine... COD4 ran on the IW 3.0 engine, WaW ran on an upgraded version of the IW 3.0, MW2 ran on the IW 4.0 and Black Ops ran on a heavily upgraded version of the WaW engine which was the IW 3.0. I'm right :P

actually Black Ops and MW2 uses different versions of the engine. MW2's engine is much more updated. Updates make a big difference cause if there were no updates to the engine then we would be playing QUAKE 3.
and also Call of duty has been using the Quake 3 engine since Call of Duty ONE! get your facts straight before insulting someone who is correct
