I was raised in a COGIC church and I turned people off because I was judgmental and I still am. I was critical and insensitive. I still am. I looked on the outside and didn't even try to see what was on the inside of others who didn't believe the way I did. I believe in Holiness. I hate Satan and will stomp him with the best of em. People need to be filled w/the Spirit, but it's not my job to do it. COGIC let yo light shine. Don't be like I use to be.

So I don't know what you are talking about. No COGIC is not perfect. I have ran into some COGIC members that were stuck up thinking they were better because of the church they go to etc. But your wrong for saying the whole denomination is wrong, just the way some people carry themselves as COGIC members are wrong. You should be really carefull about such general statements. Probably most of the people you love or look up too are COGIC and you don't even know it.

Not really they only where those on official days/important service. All the cogic churches dont do it. For example my church dresses down every sunday meaning we were jeans or like regular clothes for church including the pastor. We do preach against it we love the person but not there actions. And who is to say who is effeminate or not unless were in bed with them. Again I agree with some of what your saying. But your downing the whole denomination and thats being streotypical and judgemental.

If the standard of Holiness is NOT maintained or enforced in that particular denomination (or ANY other) its is condemned by the Holy scriptures not by me (2Tim. 3:4-8)! If people can dress up to go to concerts and Doctors appointments, why should they go to church looking tacky? God is giving us his best and we should give him our best. Why should we look like the world when we gather in his presence. We are to be like a bright light shining in a very dark world. In my church, when new members join who do not have nice clothing, we donate them. Pants in church can be distracting.

Have you ever visited the COGIC web-site?There is a declaration against Gay marriages that Bishop Patterson put in place before he died. God does not ask that we kick gay people out of church. The church is supposed 2 b the hospital, yet some people refuse to take their medication & get well. This also applies to fornicators, adulterers, liars, thieves, over-eaters, & vain people as well. We would have to kick everyone out if that were the case. Pay closer attention to Congress & their demands.
