Everyone was accusing us of racism before we adhered to the European Union. They've told us we need to integrate gypsies, to educate them, to help them.

Now that we joined the EU, gypsies have flooded Europe and everyone sees why we hate them so much. No one managed to integrate, educate, help them. France flies them back to Romania, Italy and Spain are desperate about them and in Ireland they've been atacked by locals.

If you ask me, the only solution is to deport them on some lonely island.

Who loves gypsies? I do! There are no greater people in the world! I wish I could be a gypsy! I wear a lot of gold and listen to gypsy music, but its not the same. I could never be as wonderful as a gypsy. That is why I decided to marry a gypsy woman. We live with her 72 closest family members in a big house filled with gold. I love to lay in the gold and sing gypsy songs. Gypsies are the best :)

Good illustration of prejudice in Romania- focusing on hypocrisies, though, only serves to be derisive It's time to put out these fires -not just fan the flames. Its institutionalized racism, the Roma people and others it affects need to challenge the system to bring about change. Maybe that politician serving the Roma people might be a start. Al-Jazeera is being part of the solution by showing this documentary...Focusing on hypocricies helps understand it...It is after all the problem we are dealing with...

Your point is well taken; the Roma will ultimately be responsible for initiating positive change for the Roma. Yet, there are other actors in motion who could contribute to the outcome. The world is filled with hypocrisies and hate -it isn't unique here!- if illustrating injustice was a solution, then the Israeli/Palestinian travesty would have been resolved justly years ago. Just putting the bad-actors on stage and calling it journalism... well, we have Jerry Springer for that...

Thanks for your civilized comments. Your point is well taken. Someone has to expose the bad things in society. Its unfortunate some people take offence to that. In the long run, it may help the Roma people and Romanians to better understand each other. Politics usually stands in the way of peace, like you've pointed out in Palestinian/Isreali schism...
