And it took me a few minutes just to learn how to read drum sheet music and now i can play my favourite song on drums and guitar and bass and more thanks dude.
@Gr1zz3m Maybe because 1500$ isn't much for e-drums. Do you want a real good e-kit, you should buy the roland TD-20.. 6000$ :D, But you're right, xWPxTugg was wrong, and you're right ;)
lol. 'so that you're holding. . . . . . the OPPOSITE end of the stick!' not to be rude, but there was a hilarious and unintentional dramatic pause there. Just makes me laugh. his slow speaking makes everything VERY understandable, but it makes him prone to looking a little bit like an overdramatic guy as well. :p
Great lesson! It really helped me getting my crosssticking sounds right. I hate the way he turns every 30 seconds to look into the other camera though..
im holding it exactly like he said, and i put the stick in the same place but it sounds rlly hallow, like barley any snare sound, just more like im hitting the rim.....any suggestions?
these vids are great! most of them are actually helpful. and the camera changes are hilarious every time. and the way he talks is funny. not too be mean
you have to find the "sweet spot" of the stick, its very to-taste type of hit. it could be that its way up on the shaft or where it starts to thicken.
depends what you play like an what you want to do...if u wanna have a big kit buy loads of random crap that in time ul realise you dont need...you can get by using a snare, bass, floor tom + 1 rack toms, hi-hats, 1 or 2 crashes, and a ride...its what you feel best using..i dunno, im self taught..i build on stuff by watching drummers like these guys...an i play better on a better kit, where i have confidence in the kit not always bigger, depends where + what im playin your kit is a persnal thing
Great illustration and explanation. Thanks!

Would if i am playing a electric drumset, would i play a cross-sticking, probably not
augie150 7 months ago
@augie150 That's not true. Most electronic kits are capable of simulating rim shots and cross sticking just like any other kind of hit.

@xWPxTugg
ive played on a 1500$ kit, and there are a few things i noticed:
1. its impossible to gravity blast
2. you can't do rim shots
3. the bell doesn't make noise
4. you can't choke the cymbal.

Well, i'm poor as fuck XD
my set is a 500$ used Ludwig element series. with used sabian b8 cymbals and a dw7002 pedal.
My buddy has a 3000 tama set, and a 1500 electric set (he uses it for occasional techno beats)

What kind of drum heads and cymbals are on this set? anyone know?
jaredpistoia 3 years ago
Why playing it with bottom side of the stick ? The front side is good for this as well.
GishoDinev 3 years ago
it sounds much better this way
gtoband05 3 years ago
not true, play it where the stick reaches the thickest point at the top, gives the same sound
