  • Bll Maher is the most annoying of hypocrites

  • @y0xHitxThatxChanxGuy

AND the most hypocritical of annoyances.

He thinks he's the next in line from Lenny Bruce and George Carlin... but they were at least ORIGINAL..

  • Believing Obama is an atheist so you have a reason to support him is like the birthers believing he is a Muslim so they have a reason to oppose him.

  • @mikedamat

Excellent point. Maher simply has some sort of mental disorder where he projects his ideals onto his idols and kisses their asses and rationalizes their every fault-- just like he projects his demons onto his declared enemies and sneers at them all day as the ultimate evil.

Then he calls everyone else stupid for not seeing it.

  • In an ideal world politicians would not have to lie about their religiosity to get elected. However, America is not that ideal world. I would prefer the atheist/agnostic who is lying to the fervent believer anyday, assuming an affirmed atheist is not an option.

  • @truthiness2010

So it's ok to lie for the people for the greater good, because you think people are too stupid to know what's good for them.

You're what Lenin called a "useful idiot," though I'm not sure I agree about the "useful" part.

  • @SovereignStatesman I never said I thought it was ok. I clearly stated that my preference would be to vote for an affirmed atheist.

However, I live in the real world. Therefore, if I was an American voter, I would prefer to vote for the politician who I thought was lying about his religiosity to get elected rather than one who I thought really believed in talking snakes, virgin births, etc.

    Which would you prefer?

  • @truthiness2010

That's begging the question, assuming a false dichotomy between manipulative liars and strict biblical construction. And that explains how dishonest people rationalize their lies so they that can blame "necessity" and "the greater good" for their ruthless tyranny; as William Pitt the Younger said, ."Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."

  • You need to look at the real world and not the idealised version that exists only in your mind.

It would be fantastic if an avowed atheist could receive the presidential nomination from one of the two main US parties. With 30% of Americans professing a literal belief in the Bible, do you think that is likely?

Every politician in Congress either believes in God or is a liar. That is not a false dichotomy. It is fact. As things stand, my voting preference would be for the latter.

  • @truthiness2010

You're just repeating yourself, so see my answer below, i.e. the same old line that "the people are too stupid to know what's good for them, therefore a benevolent dictator is justified in saying whatever is necessary to get elected."

No wonder you love Maher, you both share the same single brain-cell and can't comprehend anything beyond Machiavellian pragmatism.. which is why you love Obama, since he's got TWICE as many!

Sad that this is how it ends.

  • @SovereignStatesman To say that I love Bill Maher would be incorrect. I agree with him on some issues but I find his views on many things to be inconsistent with his professed reason and logic. I find his views on PETA and vaccines to be reprehensible, for example.

As for Obama, once again you are incorrect. I am hoping that Mitt Romney takes the presidency. All things being equal, I would prefer an atheist, but pragmatism and magic underpants will do me in this economic environment.

  • Politicians wouldn't talk so much about religion if the voters were not so concern about their religious believe. If seems that spirituality is more important than being an intellectual.

  • This is a publicity stunt, they all do this. The president has to fit a certain profile to get elected in America. Obama is about as much a Christian as I am a Zebra! Nor is he a Muslim as some have tried to claim. If he was anything it would be Jewish but he's not even that. Obama is an atheist and cares only about the money, drugs and whores his Jewish puppet masters give him, like all the other presidents before him!

  • people who actually believe the shit bill maher says are fucking stupid. he is not a politician he just a comedian who tries to convince other people with his personal views. he always talks shit about america like if he can fix it all. i 'm doing a better service for america i;m in the military right now.

  • "The fool says there is no God" Psalms 153

  • @aldexreyes "the fool says there is no napkin god" the napkin that I just wrote that on

  • @CreationistCrap Looks like your napkin is more intelligent than you, good luck !

  • @aldexreyes And it goes completely over your head.

  • tell it like it is robster17...

    ya are fuckin brainwashed!

bill maher can be hypocritical sometimes , but he makes his point clear when he saids that religion is a norological disorder...! which means people are brainwashed

  • I don't believe for one second that Obama is a follower of Christ Jesus. He certainly has given no life evidence to that. And who cares what Maher thinks. He will soon be dust while Christ and the Church live on, forever!

  • @botchedonce Mr. Pharisee, who are you to believe and to judge what our president believes or doesnt believe. Don't let your racism and or prejudice blind you, Obama is a good man, he is human and will make mistakes. With regards to Mr. Maher I disagree with him on his Religious point of view, but he is right when so called christians act worse than the atheist. I agree Christ will live forever, the church may not make it, because its ran by people like you and me who Judge others

  • @Eyeopener2010 I judge by the fruit which is evident to all. Duhhh. As far as racism, I could car less about his color. It seems important to you though. Maybe you are the racist, no? And as far as the body of Christ do you not know what christ Himself has said??? Apparently not. More talk from an ignorant.

  • Maher is usually funny, but not really a 'good' person.

That Steve Irwin costume he had was absolutely horrible. ( He dressed up as Steve after he died with a stinger in his chest )

  • why the hell is athletics a tag here?

  • and where is the proof that obama is religious?

so you believe any word politician say?

he has to lie to get elected, simple as that.

  • Bill Maher is a fucking retard. He says in one breath that he is a libertarian supporting small government, but gladly endorses the most anti-freedom, big government president in history. How can you say that you support freedom of religion and social tolerance while you cynically mock people's religious beliefs at every turn. This guy is far from libertarian; he sucks obama's dick like every other liberal media personality, only to call him crazy for believing in God.

  • isn't bill maher jewish?

  • No, he's an atheist.

  • he's a zionist

  • @TheScienceFoundation

Is he a Jewish atheist? And don't tell me the two are mutually exclusive because we all know that's not true.

  • if you think your gods chosen people you can go fuck yourself

  • I'm not convinced that Obama isn't an atheist. He talks about religion with no conviction. The U.S. is so backwards that he has to pretend to be a devout christian or his career is over.

  • Sorry but being a christian is about conduct not about presuming paranormal theories about life after dead are inquestionable

  • He's a libertarian. Liberals and libertarians are completely different.

  • Bill Maher is hardly a libertarian. He is a talking head for the democrat party. He supports every left wing attempt to regulate businesses, that is the exact opposite of being a libertarian.

  • lie

  • tbh, like all politicians i feel Obama is lying, about his belief in God

  • u moron, he was referring to MORMONISM!!! Mitt Romney?? ringin any bells? Maher wasnt talking bout christianity, just mormonism. it sounds like christianity, only a nonchristian president hasnt been elected (or ran, i think) since Lincoln! the rest were all christian. of course he trusts the government w/ christians, just not mormons and creationists.

  • Does anyone else know that New Rules is a comedy segment.

  • This was in the rant after new rules.

  • the rant for new rules is also a comedy segment

  • Its not racism to bring up race

  • actually, it kind of is.

By definition, racism is discriminating by race. If you bring up someone's race, it is discriminating because why would you bring up his race?

  • so you basically just contradicted yourself by stating racism is discriminating by race, which Maher is not doing.

And by definition, racism is the singling out or act of hatred toward others because of race, where simple discrimination by race is called prejudice - but that's ok, 99% of peeps in this country understand the difference.

  • Not at all. Prejudice is just pretty much the same.

Why would you be prejudiced unless you have some sort of motive?

  • No, by definition, racism is the belief that one race is biologically superior to another, and discrimination is not brining up someone's race. Why would he bring up his race? Maybe because Barack Obama is the first (half) African-American President?

  • Maybe your thinking of differentiate. Discrimination is usually a negative.

We don't see differentiation laws, we see discrimination laws.

  • I think I see what you are saying, if the democratic candidate was white, he wouldn't bring up race. But its historically relevant. Also, I would like to point out Bill Maher was the first non-African-American to bring up the Jenna 6 case. He is the only one I ever hear mention the fact that African-Americans make up a disproportionate number of poor americans, and New Rules is comedy, It'd be pretty hard to never vote for a religious politician in this country

  • Sure.

It is historically accurate, but should be a tidbit note on the page, not the main corner of a campaign. I judge by character, not race.

  • you do walk alone... trust me... you're a grown up man... lol

  • We're all hypocrites, but it's justifiable regard bill as VERY hypocritical.

  • That's it Bill, make fun of Christians, but practically shit yourself when talk of cutting off funds to Israel is brought up. What an arrogant, cynical rich clown

  • I've watched his show for two years and I must say a reasonable person would have to admit that this idiot is very fallacious. I think his view on religion shows his true colors. Anyone who thinks God is nothing more than some tale of some space dad who watches you from the sky is a simple minded prick. Bill should stick with his close-minded politics and stay out of intellectual philosophical issues. I think people soon will start to ignore this guy even when he throws bombs for attention.

  • um... religion as an intellectual philosophical issue?

I dunno what i hate more - ignorant bible thumpers, or ignorant bible thumpers that try so desperately to sound intelligent...

  • @tfrizzle well then inform us, old wise one, what is god then? that is all god is is a fairy tale to keep bumbling stumbling idiots like yourself under control. And here we are 2 years later and Bill Maher is bigger than ever on HBO. Looks like you're an uninformed twit.

  • Bill Maher is an entertainer, not a politician, he's naturally humorous and all over the place, I wouldn't hold his positions seriously enough to consider what he says or does "hypocritical"

  • So what if he is a hypocrite. John McCain never went to church, but he was supported by the Christian right.

One hypocite is a lot better than a few maillion of them.

  • Just because he thinks differently doesn't make him an idiot. lol. Everyone knows him for his SMART and rational intellect. and he COMICLY speaks the truth.

  • hes the only one bringing up obama's race??? all i see in the news is "Is America ready for a black president?" all over, Bill is the only one fighting against it the most. and fundamentalist Christians as well. why would you be against what he says? thats like being against what michael moore makes films about. unless you're a conservative christian or rich...

  • I got sick at Taco Bell

  • Take this idiot for what he is....a COMEDIAN.

Not funny to me,but people lagh when the sign flashes.

  • Who was it in History that was ranting and raving about the economy to gain high office! Who was it that complained about his predecessors to gain confidence of the people ?! Who was it that lied about his agenda to conquer the world?! Who was it that killed six million Jews?! Who will repeat that NOW! Wake up America !!

  • Obama may not even be religious. Everybody who runs for any sort of office must at least pretend they are religious or they will be disregarded by 90% of Americans immediately.

  • Not that I am defending Bill Maher (I disagree with him on so many things), but in a recent Daily Show interview he stated that he thought Obama was just lying about his religious nature in order to get elected, and he hoped that was the case.

The interview came out after this video was posted.

  • Thats worse, that means he thinks its better to vote a liar into office than a religious person.

  • Yah, but that's not really Bill Maher's fault (damn why am I defending Bill Maher?????), we live in a political climate where if someone doesn't claim they believe in God, then they can't get elected.

So our system is heavily biased against those who are both sane and honest.

Also, I don't think I have ever seen a politician who isn't a liar (except for maybe Ron Paul, but I am not sure about that).

In our system, saying it's bad to vote for a liar, is the same as saying it's bad to vote.

  • However, I do think that it is bad to vote. I don't think that it matters who is president. I think their actions will be practically mirror images of each other. The only thing which will be different is the rhetoric.

I think this country was bought long ago, and that anyone living in it is a slave. The government is going to take every cent you ever earn and throw you away when their done.

The only way to win is not to play. Don't pay taxes, don't vote, don't use any social services.

  • Yeah but if he really was the great black hope then it shouldn't matter if hes an atheist, if hes only good enough to vote for as long as he keeps up the facade of imaginary friends then hes not the engine of change he claims to be.

  • I completely agree with you, I have no hope what-so-ever when it comes to government.

I think every politician in the government is a traitor to the US, a murderer, a thief, and a liar. I don't believe a single word any of them say; nothing, nada, zilch. I think each and every one of them should be strung up on the front lawn of the white house.

Now that's something I would vote for.

  • @ReligiouslyAtheist um, the problem could be that you think in color, so it's good you're an athiest, i don't know why people that have faith, are against it, have to tell us about it, good for you, cuz if you had a god he would be green... and who knows? After, ya know? No one knows for sure, i'd like to believe in nothing, sediment dreams, but it sucks, that's too easy - if you're an asshole, you're gonna go to asshole land

  • what do you have against Maher...?

  • He's kinda dumb. His liberal philosophy is not self consistent, and he holds on to many governmental beliefs routed mostly on faith. He has about as much unfounded faith in liberal democracy as the christians that he ridicules has in god.

Granted as persona goes, I perfer him to ones such as Bill O'reily. But just because they are idiots, doesn't mean that Maher isn't an idiot.

I haven't watched him regularly in a while, so it would be hard to point at specific incidences without research.

  • i dont see how he has as much unfounded faith as christians. if he does prove me wrong...i can understand if you disagree with him on some things, but overall he isn't an idiot. how would he be...?

  • "but overall he isn't an idiot. how would he be...?"

    1) An internally inconsistent belief structure.

    2) Committing numerous logical fallacies.

    3) Basic flaws in his core assumption, upon witch all assumptions later are based on.

    4) An unwillingness to acknowledge such basic flaws, and debate them, instead only ridiculing those who disagree.

"i dont see how he has as much unfounded faith as christians"

Everything on the list above are quite common in Christians, and Bill Maher.

  • why would having an inconsistent belief

structure make you an idiot, he doesnt "believe" ...he'd rather "know" as far as religion goes, his answer is "i dont know" why is admitting that idiotic?

if anything Bill's belief system is skepticism....WHAT numerous logical fallacies, quit stalling. he basically has the same stance against politicians as one should which is usually doubtful and cynical.

    THIS is idiotic???

  • I didn't say he was an idiot regarding religion, I said he was an idiot regarding liberal democracy and his political views. I said he make the same logical fallacies regarding government, as christians do regarding religion.

    "WHAT numerous logical fallacies"

As I stated I can't produce specific incidences at this time. However, if you produce a play list of his last 10-20 episodes, I would be willing to watch them, and compile a report for you within a months time.

  • Furthermore,

"he doesnt "believe" ...he'd rather "know" as far as religion goes, his answer is "i dont know" why is admitting that idiotic?"

    1) That is not his view point, he has stated many times that anyone believing in god has a "mental disorder"

    2) Again I don't disagree with his views on religion, I disagree with his view on government.

"why would having an inconsistent belief

    structure make you an idiot"

    That should be self explanatory.

  • Ok, first of all he has said that someone who believes in Religion has a mental disorder, plus he has "it depends on your idea God", and i have heard him say also "Whats wrong with saying I don't know?" dude, i heard him say that in an interview..and back to inconsistent beliefs structures, not everyone "BELIEVES" even Carl Sagan said..."I don't want to believe, I want to know." so Carl had no belief structure, just things he knew and didnt know.

  • Again, I have no problems with Bill Maher stance on religion. It's his beliefs towards government which I find reminiscent of christians belief towards god.

Everyone believes, even Carl Sagan. You can't know most things for sure (100%), but their is a reasonable level when ones beliefs are so consistent with reality, that these beliefs can then be defined as knowing.

Carl Sagan had a very stringent belief system this is why Carl Sagan is the bomb, and Bill Maher is an idiot.

  • well, that last sentence of yours made most sense...but, still. give me 3 political circumstance that makes bill an idiot, any you'd like...O'reilly i'd call an idiot...tho

  • I will refer you to my previous post.

"As I stated I can't produce specific incidences at this time. However, if you produce a play list of his last 10-20 episodes, I would be willing to watch them, and compile a report for you within a months time."

I can't produce specific incidences because I haven't watched "Real Time" in quite a while. So, I wouldn't want to argue over vague recollection which I have. I would rather stick to facts.

  • your totally missing the point. clearly your brainwashed like 75% of your country is. get real.

  • how so?

  • @ReligiouslyAtheist accepting a philosophy is different from accepting the relion ... unless you think the bible is gods word .... obama accepts (At best) the philosophy ...not necessarily the religion

  • @ReligiouslyAtheist every politician is a liar idiot.....

  • @MrLycanthropy

Oh yeah, "they ALL do it." Oldest line in the book.

  • Yeah, Maher is a hypocrite. Mind you, I dont oppose him for his "liberalism" I just think hes some dumb wannabe pundit corporate shill.

  • Maher is a coward. All he does is attack. He's a skillful comedian who can ask loaded questions & then deliver a punchline to make u look stupid if you are not articulate enough to deal with him.Any idiot with half a brain can make fun of ANYTHING and run around and say "thats stupid". If u do that all the time and don't ever search for answers, then u(Maher) r the stupid one. People can mock Einstein and make him look stupid, even tho he was a genuis. Maher is a gifted slandered. thats it.

  • Obama: Closet atheist if I ever saw one.

  • You've got a good point with this video. Of course, Obama is probably a closet atheist who knew he couldn't become president unless he pretended to be religious. The moronic majority of American citizens think that continuing to believe in something that was drummed into their head when they were children is somehow a virtue. Fuck them. Let them waste their time talking to themselves and thinking they're going to be reuninted with their deceased family members after they die.

  • That's the easy, cowardly thing to do--persecute those who don't think like you, even if they're in the majority. Yer right that Maher is a hypocrite. But, the moronic comment is idiotic given the fact that there is more evidence, tangible, scientific, logic, prophetic, forensic for the biblical account of God and life than there is for any explanation. Just like I would dare Maher: if you know so much that everyone is wrong, what is your answer for y we're here the meaning of life and beyond?

  • I'm not persecuting. I was raised in a practising Catholic home. I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing as atheism for many years, so undisputed was God's existence by those around me. It wasn't until I got older and started to question things that I realised there were far too many holes in religious belief. And if you genuinely believe there is more scientific proof for the biblical account of God than for the Big Bang or evolution by natural selection, you should start questioning.

  • You know what, you should ask him about that on overtime. Perhaps he just considers him the lesser of two evils like I do.

  • Nothing wrong with bringing up race in a discussion. That's not what racism is.

    Worst video post ever.

  • what place does race have in a discussion about the presidential race?

  • Many people base their decisions on what race a person is, and since Obama is the Democratic presidential nominee, its a very important issue (as well as age concerning John McCain and gender concerning Sarah Palin).

Its a topic that should be discussed by anyone who is interested in the political process and a good psychological discussion on how people vote.

  • No conservative I know has said anything about race, only that they didn't agree with obamas position on thinks like healthcare and his (lack of) border policy. The only ones Ive heard mention race are the ones who say they are voting FOR obama because hes black.

  • I didn't say a certain political party was racist, however it is a sad truth that many people still are racist and will note vote for Obama simply because of the color of his skin.

I've never met anyone who is voting for Obama simply because of his skin color, so it seems that you and I definitely have a different view on the matter.

  • No they don't say it directly, they use euphemisms and hint at it instead. Real Classy American behavior.

I've never heard anyone say they are voting Obama because he's black. You are full of shit.

  • If Oboma has all the ear-marks of a lying Muslim.. You will never know, as Muslims feel glorified when lying for Allah! They also use long term"extreme"plans to take this country by infiltration: Sitting around in a Christian church is possibly part of that plan... Ask the question, Have our men been killed or heads lobbed off to have a Muslim president? Are you sure!? Bud

  • Bill Maher is a libertarian which is completely different from a liberal. He's a comedian as well. I don't think think he's ever made a racist remark or comment that was serious.

  • Who cares?

  • To be fair all candidates have to say this sort of thing in America. This does not make him a hypocrite as he is supporting the candidate who is the least religious. If he supported the most religious candidate then yes he would be a hypocrite.

  • bill maher go xxxx your self.

Have a nice day everyone :)

  • jew piece of shit?

    Maher is an agnostic idiot!

    Obama is a racist?

    Prove it!

  • To this people (Nazis and like-minded people) It is enough to have some blood-relation to a jew to be one. This way it is easer to create a conspiracy that controls the world and you can blame for every problem. (e.g. 9/11)

  • Bill is a punk.

  • Why to GOP scumbags attempt to villify anyone that has an opinion that differs? I am sorry to say, these types of people show tendancies towards authoritarian personalities. I am convinced the person that posted this video has a pea sized brain and would make a perfect nazi.

  • There is a difference between disagreement and plain insults. (Both sides of the spectrum.)

And to generalize a political wing (left or right) is purely naive. (And again: It is done by both sides.)

  • He is a comic. He knows exactly that if he would actually follow this statement then he wouldn't be able to vote for the next decades.

There is another skit of his where he asks demonstrators to riot. Do you believe that he meant THAT ONE literaly?

  • He said he wouldn't so he shouldn't, otherwise he's a liar.

  • So you take every joke of a comedian seriously? Or just because you don't like him?

And by the way: Hypocrisy is not just a pasttime of liberals. Conservatives have their fair share.

  • amen, lol

  • necromantia:

Do you know how I know the Holocaust happened?

    I have a brain.

    You should try using yours.

  • I do use my brain- I look at both sides of a story and draw the best conclusion. Maybe you should try it or maybe you are just BIASED.

  • I'm biased?

Anybody who can look at all the EYEWITNESS Testimony, All the records, All the photographs. If you can look at all that evidence look back and say "well if you believe that's the story" Not only are you biased in someway. You probably have a hatred for the Jews. You subscribe to ignorance and paranoia. I subscribe to facts.

  • @ necromantia:

Huh... could have sworn that about 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust, along with about 5 million other people. But hell, I guess historians kind of smudged up the facts about one of the largest genocides in history.

Historian: "Carry the one, divide by two, and... oh fuck, its not 6 million, its 6 thousand! Damn it, I'm gonna get fired for this."

  • Try taking the # of jews in the world before WW2 and the # after WW2 adding the supposed gassed 6 million. You will find it is impossible to have such an ermous population of jews even if they procreated 24/7. Maybe you will enjoy this since you are so interested in math.

  • @ necromantia:

"...enormous..." population? The 1949 World Almanac gives the statistics of only 11 million Jews compared to the last available data from 1938 of 16 million Jews. That is about a 5-and-a-half million difference in the population.

  • Ignorance and paranoia huh? I guess the same can be said about the jews claiming anti-semitism at every corner. Why dont YOU look at The Center For Open Debate On The Holocaust and some other revisionist websites for a different perspective to answer your own comments? You would not want to be BIASED in some way would you? Some jews are ok and some are scum like bill maher. If you dont look at other sides of an issue or topic,it would make you IGNORANT.You would not want to be IGNORANT would you?

  • I can't rate this high enough

  • he said he wouldn't vote for somebody who believed in the apocalypse. Not all Christians (CS Lewis, for example) believe in the Apocalypse.

This is a stretch at best

  • He said he wouldn't vote for anyone who 'believed they were in a long term relationship with an invisible space daddy' Obama does

  • Of course Obama doesn't really believe that. He has to say that or else he would not get elected.

  • Don't expect the Obama fan boys to say anything critical of The One.
