I also have finished the attack on Whiterun, and every time I speak to Ulfric the only convo options are about the war. Have I done something wrong? For all the people that are wondering how to get the house"

1. You will need to complete the quest "Blood on the Ice" to gain accese to the home.

2. You will need to join the Storm Cloak and complete some of the quests for Jarl Ulfric in order to get the house. (he needs to give you permission to buy land in Windhelm to gain access to buy the house from the Stuwart)

3. Buy the "Clean up Murderers mess" item for you home before anything ells and the problem mentioned in the video will be fixed.

Can some one help me please. I have finished the quest "Blood on the Ice" before I bought the house. In fact the option to buy the house never came up. However I still have access to the house and I can still enter it. I can even sleep in the bed upstares.

The problem I am having is that I don't have the ability to buy furnishings for the house or clean it up. Can some one tell me exactly how to do this please? I have Skyrim for PS3.

@younger1239 To start the blood on ice Quest you need to enter windhelm 4 different times not in the same day. Then there will be someone dead in the graveyard. Talk to the guard to start it

Do you need to finish the imperial/stormcloak missions to buy the house? Because i finished the "Blood on the Ice" quest but i can't be the thane of windhelm and there is no dialog option to ask ulfric if i can help his people/be the thane. And the steward hasn't got any dialog option to buy the house.

I'm in the middle of the stormcloaks missions, but i've got another character who isn't sided with anyone for now.

@xThePowerxx The PS3/Xbox patches for Skyrim are still being approved and should be added soon. Getting rid of the bloodstains and junk is something that you have to choose to get rid of from the Steward. If he doesn't have that option in the Upgrades portion of the dialogue, you'll have to wait for the patch to take effect and fix it.

@Egsosither The patch for 360/PS3 is being put in and is already out for PC. For now, make sure you didn't do the Dark Brotherhood quest where you kill the con-ex boyfriend (starts in Markarth) and also make sure you've entered WIndhelm at least 3 times. Just have to wait for the patch otherwise :3

@InsaneDy it can be cleaned up, BUT you must purchase the cleanup option before the Living Room upgrade. Though the blood is priority one, many people buy Living Room options first, and then complain about the blood after the fact. Don't let it happen to you!

@IamaJayhawk You need to complete the Blood on the Ice quest. Given that you haven't progressed through the Dark Brotherhood quests yet (which will error out this quest), check out the graveyard and see if the murder quest has triggered.

already accessible so why not. Implement a clean option upon entering a house (preferably your own) to clean the floors. Now when I say clean the floors that means getting rid of all items on the floor in a given house, items being ingredients, food and anything else dropped. This will not only fix the bug in wind helm but in every major city that a house could be bought in. If you all agree give this comment a thumbs up and spread the word.

Guys I don't know if anyone has had this problem but I do. My house in windhelm has bones cluttering the alchemy room as well as blood on the ground floor because of a stupid "bug" that eliminates the clean option from the steward to do clean the house upon purchase. Now I have a simple solution to this, and will need some help in order for the producers to implement this proposal on future updates for the Xbox version.
