@TheEpicElectricsz -- These lasers are shot at high humidity level OR slightly smoked area. In a Disco environment, a « Smoke Machine » is used to put « dirt » particles in the air. Otherwise, like you said, you'll see NOTHING at all, since there is nothing to reflet the laser beam.

See, the laser diode emits light at some angles and that's why it needs lenses to make it quasi-parallel (Gaussian in fact, but that's a long story). The movie uploader says it's because there is very poor choice of "hobby" lasers on the market, like he was living in soviet russia. In fact, it could be improved with two extra lenses but hey, it's easier to blame the diode, right?

I should point out that the range of the laser has to do with rayleigh scattering primarily. Blue light is attenuated at shorter ranges than red light in an atmosphere. Therefore red lasers have greater range even though they possess less energy.

In short it means it got the highest energy value and is potentially also the "strongest" one. In the end though it matters a lot what kind of W you can pump in to it so you can get green laser to do more dmg then a blue

I don't quite understand what you are saying about Blu-Ray players, but the 445nm laser diodes here are not used in optical drives, they are used in projectors.

On the hobby market, there are only a few laser diodes to chose from, that's why wavelength will "determine" beam specs.

@DJhellray Yes, when you have laser glasses on. Go to Priceangels(dot)com and type Anti-Green, and chose the red glasses. Those will protect you from blue and green lasers, but NOT red lasers.
