  • i just got six baby ones just like these today and yeah its wierd i had one that sat out all the time too idk if it has something to do with the pack but it was hiding the whole time mayb somthing with the number six

  • how big were they when you got them and how long did it take to grow that big

    i have 13 of a nickel size in a 75 gal

  • They were afew days old in this video. They will take afew months to get big and red bellied. Fully expect most of your fish to be eaten by the others...

  • when they were babies my tiger barb would finish them

  • is that any of your business

  • can you over feed a red belly piranha or will it stop eating when its full?

  • WHATS A PRWAN?

  • i dunno abt prwan but i know whats a prawn

  • What is that they are eating it off of?

  • Its a little ceramic weight that you find in the bottom of small tank plant pots. The prawn is held on with a bit of bent steel wire.

  • Ok thanks.

  • You have posted three times on this video, and you STILL have not realised that the prawn is dead?! There are loads of live feeding piranha videos on youtube why the hell are you giving me your green peace preeching, when the prawn is clearly already dead?! I have not deleted any of your comments.

  • Well you did refur to me by my username so im not sure how true that is...

  • Well....people that aren't considered stupid know how to spell "wrong" correctly....

  • just because a letter didnt come up dosent mean that im stupid smartass! and it have nothing to do with this video or the fact that some of my posts come on the Wrong video. maybe you should write back when you have something constructively to come up with!

  • Has it still not clicked yet, the prawn is dead. it has no head or eyes or anything, its just a lump of pink meat. I really cannot see how you can be so blind as to think that that prawn in this video is still alive!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • I dont know what prawns look like in your country, but in the normal world, its fairly safe to assume that anything that is missing most of its body is already dead.

  • Your a stupid fucking hippy prick, the food is already dead so shut the fuck up and go have sex with a tree. And as far as human SURVIVAL goes, everything will die eventually and everybody has eaten meat, and everyone HAS KILLED SOMETHING ONCE IN THEIR LIFE. So dont be a fucking prick saying it's inhuman to do this shit when first of all, your info is fucked up and wrong! ITS DEAD! Second of all DUDE HAVE YOU WATCHED THE NEWS YET? There are wars and you call this bit of killing inhuman? Fuck you

  • Was talking too sopander

  • Are normal red bellied piranhas salt water fish?Because I have a mungrel type piranha collection that arent and I want some red bellies

  • how big is your tank?

  • can you plz give me a list of what you can feed them on. thanks

  • hi but can you plz tell me what to feed them on because my reds will die so plz. thankyou

  • trout or shelled prawns. Dont feed them anything with any spices or seasoning or anything too fatty and salty. raw sausages work, but make sure they have no seasoning or spices or nasty chemicals.

If they get too hungry they will eat each other so its good to keep ontop of it. Feed them every morning for the first few months, then feed them once every other day. If they leave food, fish it out dont let it rot there.

  • hi can you plz tell what can you feed red beilled pirhan. thanks you

  • Surely someone that calls themselves 'pirahnakid' should already know this...?

  • Wow thx for showing me this video! I've always wanted to see what baby Piranhnas looked like when they were frys. I just didnt except them to look like Silver Dollars.

  • is that a cooked prawn? lol it doesnt seem to be struggleing much

  • Its a dead prawn, with all its shell stuff taken off but its not cooked. The fish are pretty strong, they ate steak too

  • wher did you buy them at? can you buy them at just a regular pet store?

  • im breedin em - if any one lives in holland come get em you ill get 25 for [E-12,50

  • theyre so small i remember when mine were that tiny

  • WAT IS A PRAWN

  • Its a little pink shellfish that crawls along the bottom of the sea.

  • how much is a lillte piranha as that one??? more or less??

  • cool

    im getting

    12 for $50

  • thats crazy d00d, i have 5 of them, and i just switched the tank too! except for odly enough the one big one is protecting a small feeder i put in there like 2 months ago

  • lol nemo

  • Perana are pack fish if one is weak the others are weak so the big ones protect the small ones until they get big

  • yo d00d this has been on here for a while, just wanna know how your piranha's are doing? they bigger?

  • They got really big, bout 4inches long. Two of the fish got eaten. The fish have now been moved to another tank, and as far as I know they are ok, but I havn't seen them for a while....

Just before they moved they were really feisty, they would eat entire raw sausages (orgranic, no special stuff just meat in a skin, they cant take herbs and bits of apple)

  • lol "number six!!..... where are you ???"

  • wtf is a prawn?

  • prawn is a type of shrimp

  • are u really thick or something???

  • how so you get piranhas?

  • Do you have pirahnas as pets coooooool.

  • i got them 2 days ago but they stay in the same spot is that because they are settling into the tank, were do you get the trout from, i was told to feed them every 2 days

  • every few days is fine when they are 2-3inches. I got the trout from the fish counter at the local supermarket....

  • how often do u feed them i have just bought 6 red bellied pirahnas cost me £60 for 6 there about 3inch but they seem a bit wairy probs cos there new to the tank

  • When they were babies you are ment to feed them ever day. I gave them afew prawns in the morning. Try them on trout - trout is good caus its not too fatty. Just put abit of thawed trout in there and they should go pretty wild for it... It will take them a while to adjust to the tank, when they have settled in, each fish will have its own little spot where it will sit all day, waiting to be fed

  • nice fish tank

  • Thanks.

  • you have six piranhas?

  • I did, two of the weaker ones were eaten.....

  • does anyone here no if a pirranha can go with tiger oscars

  • Pirahnas eat even other pirahnas, i would expect pirahnas would eat the oscar, unless the oscar was significantly bigger than the pirahnas....

  • yes that is true. u only want to have 1 red belly, or a group of them. if there is only 2 or 3, the dominant one will make life miserable for the others. a good number is 5-6 at least or more.

  • those arent pirahnas, there silver dollars

  • no, they are pirahnas. They grew up and ate each other.

  • I have had my fair share of pirahnas. The red bellys should/can be kept together in "schools". The black pirahna should be kept alone, they dont like company. They also tend to be more aggresive and they are harder to find in pet shops. In the UK anyway.

  • This is actually quite funny, look at the first little fucker taking nibbles.

  • arnt they illegal in the US

  • It varies state to state, a lot of states are worried they will be released into rivers and breed. Theres lots of info about them and the law on the net...

  • In summertime, they are illegal over here to buy, I had one once, it was only a baby, he was outnumbered by six 6-inch oranda's, so he never went near them, actually, the oranda's used to bully him, and he NEVER nibbled their long tails. I used to feed him separately, pre-packed Crayfish tail from Dunnes is best.

  • its been a couple of months since the last couple of posts... how big r they now?

  • Mmm there are four big ones, about 3-4 inches, and one littler one. Unfortnatly the 6 th one was eaten about two months ago :(

  • lol their the same aize as when i got mine now their like 5 " each

  • Nice price ill have to look into it, ive been thinking about buying a piranha for years now all ill have to do is find somewhere that sells them!

  • You cannot keep them on their own, they are schooling so do better in groups of four or more. Adult pirahnas need 15gallons each so you need a 60gallon tank minimum....

Other than that, they are good pets...

  • This is an awesome video dude! Please tell me all about pirahnas, because I want to get some too! How much do they cost? Are they hard to maintain? How long do they live in tanks like those?

Also, can you post some videos of your pirahnas eating small live fishes? That would be awesome!

  • The fish are a pretty small cost, about £10 each as babies. I got 6 for £40. The tank and filteration is the crippler. That tank cost about 350 quid, and i spent another 150 on filters. Since then I have spent hundreds on gravel, decorations, plants, lighting etc. Its not cheap, but its fairly cheap to maintain once you are up and running.

They are not big enough to eat other fish yet, however they are much bigger. the biggest one is about 1.5inches now...

  • they are getting bigger, not qutie rat eating size yet but they eat entire mussels now...

  • he must put his fingers inside...

  • Yeah i do on a daily basis to re arrange the tank. All they do is swim away, they know they arnt big enough to tackle my hand so they just swim away. They are much bigger now. About two inches each....

  • i hope next time i watch this video, not the prawn,, much better if small rat.. more exciting.

  • aww soo cute..
