  • thank you....seeing this really brings a faith in humanity that i had lost....it's so good to see the love of Christ coming through again....Jesus IS love

  • What you are doing is good. You are right. This is what Jesus will have done.

    He will heal the sick.

He will dine with the tax-collectors.

    He will love the gays.

He will share his loaves and fishes with the Muslims.

    Jesus is all about love.

but theres one thing he hates.

The Pharisees. The Religious scholars and the self-righetous fanatics.

Compare and contrast with todays Republicans.

  • thank you. thank you. <3

  • THIS NEEDS WAY MORE VIEWS!!!

  • As an agnostic atheist and son of a gay mother, I want to thank you and everyone who is involved in this organization. It's wonderful to see the stereotype that all Christians are hateful and anti-gay be shown completely untrue. If more people, regardless of faith, were as accepting as you guys, this world would be a better place. We may disagree religiously, but you guys are true bros and I'd love to hang with ya'll any time. You have my support.

  • I love and respect you guys so much. Thank you for this

  • Why does there need to be a "bridge" connecting the Christian and LGBT communities? There shouldn't be any gap between them in the first place.

  • Untill I saw this, I thought all Christians were antigay.

  • The responses to this video have been pretty intense and for good cause. While I won't try to address all of them I will say this. The Marin Foundation is a single (and small) organization with a focus of building bridges between the church and the gay community - as such they navigate difficult role of building alliances from various perspectives around these issues. As others have stated before "I'm Sorry" is the beginning and hopefully much reconciliation will follow.

  • This is amazing! Why didn't u announce this on facebook?

  • @davidbrucemusicvideo - hey man! I did post about it on facebook the day of and for a few days after. Unless you're talking about inviting others to join in beforehand. It was circulating on facebook (a few people we'd never met before came to support too!), but no I didn't send out invitations personally. I still wasn't sure how to (or who to) invite so I just let people know what we did. :)

  • Instead of saying sorry, how about stopping the Christian push for genocide in Africa, stopping the chemical experiments on the unborn, and allowing gays basic civil rights and liberties.

  • "I am sorry?" and what say to the gays, many of them young, who have

committed suicide due to extreme alienation and constant exposure

to shunning behavior and hatred. What do you say?

  • Good JOB DARREN. Keep pushing for the TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD TO BE RECIEVED BY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FROM THE VERY FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.

  • Alot of people don't study homosexuality as a whole, nor do they understand the origin of their own sexual desire. So of course they're not gonna see homosexuality as SIN. But then they won't see anything that they do as SIN. When we seek God, he will challenge us on 3 overall issues PRIDE & LUST, and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. WE ARE THEN LEFT TO MAKE A DECISION TO SEE TRUTH OR LIVE A LIE. God luv those who are in the lifestyle, but he loves us too much to leave us in that state.

  • ApologyFromTheChurchIsToShowLuvAccordingToTheChristianFaith. A person will only realize how inconvenient homosexuality is when they realize that they need the Savior (when the life drives them to needing God more than a sexual experience).

  • Christians cannot "like" gays because their bible tells them what to think. As does the bible teach to rape, molest, beat and kill. Most likely a bunch of closet cases.

  • awww i think its great these people are out among their equal humans and doing just what they are doing..great beginning!

  • It's nice to see Christians acting Christ-like for a change. bravo to the Marin Foundation ... - I walked away from the church many years ago, in large part from h8, history of violence and hypocrisy - (no i CANNOT be converted back - lol)...

  • I hope this is real!

  • Apology NOT accepted until all members of the Marin Foundation publicly affirm that homosexuality is normal.

"I'm sorry" is not where an apology ends. It's where it begins. It must be followed by real change, and not just window dressing.

So far, all I see is a smiley-face version of "love the sinner, hate the sin".

AND by the way, when you're done wih us, you've got a bunch of atheists, pagans, native Americans, and witches to apologize to, and that isn't half of it.

  • @rg0057

They are also against abortion, even when rape and incest is involved, but if asked about a gay unborn, they have no problem with abortion, and are even now conducting anti gay chemical experiments on gays.

It will be a long road from hearing die faggot die to we accept your apology.

  • @rg0057

I agree. My experience with "good Christians" in the 80's during the peak of hopelessness in the AIDS crisis was disgust. They only expressed hate, condemnation, and did such great harm in hospitals and hospice.

Now we find for the last decade they have been pushing the arrest, imprisonment, torture, and execution of gays, throughout Africa.

  • @rg0057 good point...:)

  • @rg0057 - I certainly agree that "I'm Sorry" is where an apology begins. It also goes hand-in-hand with real action like being an advocate, a support, and ally. I'm not part of the staff of the Marin Foundation, but the work that this organization is doing has positively impacted policy around the treatment of GLBTQ individuals in my church as well as educated the body at-large (via classes) about how to end the mistakes and start actually doing life with people. Still much work to be done...

  • @rg0057 I've been treated poorly by somebody of every different color and religion at some point. If some person who claims to be muslim does something horrible to me, I'm not going to make every muslim apologize to me. Its just as racist for those who thinks that every muslim is a terrorist just because of 9/11. These people have apologized for themselves and that is commendable. They can't make up for the past mistakes of every other christian and its ridiculous to ask them to do so.

  • You are wonderful.

  • I hope this group is real.

It would be great to work with Christians in helping those who need help in America.

Together our communities could do a lot of good, if the energy used in fighting each other was turned towards helping people.

  • @Blairtim69 Agreed :(
