The high unemployment is due to American Companies out-sourcing jobs to foreign countries AND receiving tax breaks for doing so... a process that Republicans support. American companies created over a million jobs last year in foreign countries. If those jobs had stayed here, we'd have 9% unemployment.
But who cares about keeping American jobs in America (ACTUAL patriotism) when you can make a bigger profit.

Actually I think the Republicans want to give corporations the tax breaks HERE. They wouldn't have to go elsewhere to get more beneficial tax rates. The reality is that we have among the highest corporate rates in the world and slap on regulation requirements. Even you can understand why they would then go overseas.

@thorkyll All of the Fed's expenses are payed by member bank fees and by the interest it charges to these banks and others that owe it money including the federal government. The money the govt. pays to the Fed in principal and interest is supposed to be returned to the Treasury minus the operating expenses of the Fed. That's the story anyway. Who really knows given the lack of a real audit.

The Federal Reserve is partly to blame for the increased money supply. Congress is also to blame. When AIG owed the Federal Reserve (F.R.) approximately 21 billion dollars, wasn't it congress that gave them almost 200 billion dollars. Now there is only one originating source of dollars and that is the F.R. and congress has given them their power. Our founding fathers must be rolling over in their graves as congress has embraced the F.R. and abandoned Gold and Silver (legal tender)!
