I am living here in West End, bought a house in Sandy Bay......ya this is def a fun place to hang out. I like Twisted Toucan a lot. Sundowners is cool, only been once but was a good time. Never felt a sense of danger down here (I've lived in areas way way way worse than this in Houston), just like anywhere, keep your wits about you. Also I don't walk around drunk at night, being a woman here alone most of the time that would just be stupid. great food down here too!!

Seeing the twisted toucan brings back memories. I was shot at in that bar. Some guy wanted to kill a tourist and he took a shot at me and missed. He was later dragged out of the bar and killed by his own cousin.
