Trump is a rubbish businessman. He's declared bankruptcy on four occasions, and inherited his wealth from his rich daddy, who's also had to bail Donald out on occasion.

This development is bringing no jobs to the area: the construction firm is Irish, and brings in an outside workforce, everything is imported, and the staff at these facilities will all be cheap outside labour.

Not only is Trump shit at what his PR department insist he's wonderful at, he's a liar and a bully.

Nobody gave a crap about those dunes before a rich American started buying them up. The beach was covered in Dogshit - because that's all it was being used for - walking dogs. Suddenly - a plethora of people who are indignant about the environment are suddenly flashing their "green" credentials and wagging their finger at the nasty venture capitalist. These same people would condemn Aberdeen to perpetual stagnation, denying us the infrastructure that the city and it's economy desperately needs.

Plus there was no firm promise that this venture would create jobs for the local economy.

@Spoonoful What's a mile or two of coastline against a world class, £750 million development that has already brought hundreds and will potentially bring thousands of jobs to the area? Of course, tourism and golf tournament revenue are much, much greater factors for the North East. One Ryder cup would bring £80 million+. The cost? Shifting dunes that will disappear in a century and a few folk horse riding or watching wildlife a mile further than usual, no one's losing their home. Easy choice.
