  • Loved the CVS too! Major LP at parties in the 50s. Sadly lost my only LP of them as a result of the Matrimonial Act. Sigh!

  • I know a couple of the original Clyde Valley Stompers from here in B.C. Canada. Ian Menzies (trombone) and Malcolm Higgins. Malcolm passed away in Ontario and Ian lives in Vancouver. I met them in the early eighties when they got together for a tour with the Cairns brothers, Jim Mcharg, Fiona Duncan. I have one of their albums still and autographs. I didn't realize how big they were in the day as my mum told me she used to dance to them when she was young and she passed away last year at 74.

  • Malkie is still alive and kicking, here in T.O.

  • That's good to know Berty. I was told a few years ago that he had passed away so thanx for clearing that up for me. I've listened to alot of dixie over the years and Malcolm is by far my favorite trumpet player when it comes to that style of music so thanx again.
