  • I don't have a dog and no gardener with any pride in their vegetable garden would allow a dog to run around on it. If Round Up isn't good then it wouldn't be used by millions of good competent gardeners. Round Up doesn't degrade the soil and hasn't been around for even half a century. Real gardeners do not garden like cavemen and it is all about the best quality crops and the highest yields. Playing is for children........

  • Does Alys still have her plot, how did she get on, does anyone know?

  • I agree with telemarker's comments on page 3 which have been hiden due to too many negative comments but can still be viewed. Harsh words but it does all smack of political correctness and not best gardening practice. Beginners would do well to not cling to the every word of these shows. Its all a bit too New Age and Eco Warrior style. Good amateur gardeners don't do this. I am an experienced gardener who has been a pro gardener too for many years and we certainly wouldn't go about it like this.

  • @xxcolinseymourxx Your a g@d D@mned fool...round up? reallly? thats why you wouldnt take your dog in, because your laying down poison. Although alys isnt perfect, your an idiot. Try and learn a thing or two about how you "old school" gardeners and farmers have degraded our soil and caused a whole century of terrible farming practices. and the tea..ide rather drink a cup of terrible tea with her, than the most delicious cup of coffee with you(im american:-)

  • I love Jack Russel's but I wouldn't want a dog on my allotment. couch grass is better killed with Round Up and then let the digging commence. It is extremely effective on couch and travels through the long roots and kills them. The couch grass doesn't come back. It looked like she put dead grass into the kettle. the tea must have been horrible. Forking like she is doing is the wrong way and makes very hard work and an unsatisfactory job. I am an experienced gardener speaking from experience

  • The advice and the way she goes about it is all wrong and she is making hard work of it. The way to prepare a new weedy allotment is to start at one end by digging out a trench and then double dig the allotment. The perennial weeds like couch and bindweed are turned over and put down deep, the roots can easily be picked out with deep digging and deep digging causes perennial weeds to die out within 2 years as they cant stand deep cultivation. I am going to repost my double digging demo to show

  • got to love the kelly kettle

  • I have just taken on a small allotent, and started work on it today. I recon I can learn from these videos ! Great John

  • Dogs got its coat on but Alys took her cloves off

  • Hi Alys, Come and subscribe to our channel!

  • You can tell it's winter cos the dog's got his jacket on

  • Chuckling - and your pup is a darling!

  • Astounded by the truly off-putting people who sometimes view/comment on youtube offerings. Yet in great appreciation of those who are just the opposite. You are beautiful dear lady - like a woman of eras past...absolutely noteworthy. And, our world needs everyone who is so-inclined - those of us who post these videos and those of us who take inspiration from them - to 'spread the word' with respect to non-conventional food-growing, foraging...more traditional living. Thank you:)

  • Wow, didn't know that about the worms.

  • cute dog ! :D

  • Alys, I can't see much point in rotting down weeds to use as liquid fertiliser in December.. what are you going to feed with it? Surely, it's better to rot them down and throw on the compost heap, or bury them a couple of feet deep. Also, bindweed and couch grass will send their roots under cardboard or black plastic and carry on growing unless a barrier is created all the way around..

    Keep on digging..

  • i dont read snooze papers!!

  • this girls hot !!!!

  • @32ewing wash your eyes out man :P

  • I have never seen a tea pot that you can build a fire in and brew tea outdoors like I see in your winter work video! Does the teapot have a brand name ? It would be great for camping and I am curious if they are available in the states. Thanks for your positive attitude and great garden tips.Thomas in South Carolina

  • @xrayzulu51 I know it's great!!! I think you could get one online. Do a search for storm kettle =)

  • @xrayzulu51 yeh their kelly kettles, when i was into bushcraft i realy wanted one of those, i think they cost like £30 so thats like 50 dollars?? im not sure, i know they ship worldwide but im sure their would be an online camping shop that would sell them. They are really good i think they run on all sorts of twigs, even if they are damp, i heard they even run on animal dung!

  • I can't wait for the snow to melt to do exactly as she's doing with tthe weeds! And I can't wait!!!! So fun with a nice cup of tea or coffee and the fresh air of Spring ;)

  • @telemarker77 Why would you say something so unfounded and hurtful ? It seems such a waste of time to tear down something that promotes good health and may be of help to others. I wish you the best !

  • @telemarker77 and you should obey the restraining order!!!!! fekin daily mail reader
