As the fuel tank emptied in the nose of the aircraft the center of gravity shifted further and further back causing the plane to become progressively less stable especially when the aircraft is near empty and at stall speed.
Scale airplanes don't fly like their big brothers. The aerodynamics don't work the same. That's why this aircraft was unstable on landing approach, otherwise it flew nicely on power at speed.

every approach had the aircraft close to stall, hence the wings rocking, on the final one he just pushed his luck with a very low speed for such a heavy model.
you can really see heat waves come out the vectors! next time retract landing gear in flight & decelerate upon landing, standing from an oncoming or going view
The plane is to heavy for the wing, looks like the CG is slightly off all so. Not saying it can't be landed, but just difficult and airspeed will need to be high for smooth transition.
can he land any slower than full speed? he doesn't need the double shot of nitrus on landing. the way he was rocking back and forth? just wow. that's all i can say. wow.
Question for you guys who fly model jets.....Do you know of anyone who has made an jet that has the capability to adjust the exhaust vents to more thrust?!
the left hand stabiliser was jittering after the engine was started, and was still jittering after it had slid to a stop, that's why it dived to the left on approach in my opinion. was the pilot oblivious to the movements? looks like a faulty servo, reciever or radio.
This is what happens when these guys go for the gold when they need to think about qualifications first! It's apparent this guy forewent the basics, and jumped into something beyond his skill level. He tried to play it off when he failed the landing the first time, and did a follow up touch and go to front. The third one proved that he was not ready for this devise. Just because you have mad ca$h, doesn't mean you are automatically deserving, or ready. This accident cost him at least $1,000.
@PaulJrSucks Dang ... u too tuff on dude... I doubt that was his first flight. He needs slats for the Superbug. That kit is poorly designed in my opinion. The user tried to land with high Alpha as away to slow the jet down. Clearly this kit cant fly slow. That's the problem with scale jets... you can't model something to be accurate with out modeling everything.
Add the leading edge slats...and this kit may work. Also add a speedbrake.
Where the afterburners at ? FAIL ! No ammo to nail that annoying little farty plane..FAIL !! And the landing ??? ummm ..it begins with F?? ah yeh..FAIL !! nice lil toy tho . Shame u broke it..
tip stall or over correction. most of the approaches were sketchy. maybe it would be worth buying a large edf f18 to practice with flight characteristics. start adding weight to make it a little more difficult to handle....landings faster. then get back to the expencive turbine one.
I'm thinking that Jet Rc Pilots need to start at the lowest weight possible... The hevier it is.. the faster and harder it is to control it and land it. I was thinking The ViperJet with its long wingspan- Seems like it would glide better... Although they do make "Top" wing models... Rc Jet Trainers- A pilot I met at a Club field said it takes an average of 4 years of flying prop-sport planes to fully prepare a jet. Then when you do get a jet.. get a trainer jet to start off... work your way up.
Ok, he just said he broke something on his "maiden flight" so this had to be his 2nd flight. I can safely say that I broke enough shit on my first couple of landings so give him a break. He is learning by doing.
