The DLC map was basically pointing out STATES that Bush won with less than 10%.
There were bullseyes marking those STATES. It was to concentrate on those STATES in the next election cycle. Who is targeted? The STATE?

The mugshots on Malkin's website featured people who broke into local GOP offices, assaulted Republican chairmen, attacked police officers at unruly anti-war protests, slashed the tires on Republican vans in Wisconsin, and even stalked and terrorized a woman just because of her Bush-Cheney bumper sticker. okay, Cenk really needs to let Jared Loughner go. Was it a political thing? It was a political event and it involved an assassination attempt. If you try to make sense of what the hell he was thinking or what his politics were, you're going to come up short. He was a lunatic. That doesn't mean that conservatives are somehow blameless of contributing to a violent, scary atmosphere but there doesn't seem to be any connection between Loughner and conservatives or liberals. Move on.

@DjBobbyLosAngeles I've never heard anybody say that the Democrats are dictators or that the democrats are communists. I've heard mention of Marxism and socialism, but it's usually not hyperbole, but speculation about what kind of precedent the current administration is setting. Anyway, if after that political ad (3:50) aired on television, somebody assassinated Hayworth, would we trying to blame it on Mitchell? It's not like Palin was the one who shot Giffords in the head.

@5jv7 in general, these are the kind of things that are being said about Democrat. Im not saying if palin is responsible for the shooting or not i dont know....but.....in general....when u have this kind of stuff all day long, thigns like this can happen. In thise case maybe it doesnt have anythig to with talk radio. But there are people who are worried the government is gonng take over, and they are ready with guns. And there are people who go after LIberals and fight with them then. .

I'm referring to your mention of "people who are worried the gov[t] is gonng take over...[and] are ready with guns." To bear arms is more important as a domestic right in my opinion; we own them to protect ourselves from more than the govt, but it was originally drafted with fear that the federal govt would become too powerful & disarm the population.

@DjBobbyLosAngeles Governmental entities have caused more destruction than anything else in human history. They have a monopoly on force and presently show no constraint in using it. Of all things to be worried about, I think that the Govt should top the list. It's not being paranoid, it's just being realistic.

@DjBobbyLosAngeles I think that the bad outweighs the good. An example of good regulation, and I stress that there are very few examples of good regulation, would be ensuring that people put mud flaps on their cars, or that food producers provide accurate nutritional information on their packaging. Most governments, however, are far past this kind of "fair-play" regulation, instead concerning themselves with whether there's bottled water in our vending machines, or toys in our happy meals.

Price controls and downright theft ["taxation"] have starved millions, as have subsidized or govt-run farming industries. Inefficient businesses in the free market are cleared out of the way through bankruptcy or are forced to change their habits through losses. The least efficient organizations on Earth are bureaucracies, and they'll live on forever so long as the public blindly supports them.

@DjBobbyLosAngeles yes, generally I agree, but there's no evidence to suggest that Jared Loughner was one of the crazy people who listened to right wing pundits. His worldview, his politics are incoherent. It's a good opportunity to talk about scaling back political rhetoric but not because it had a direct connection to this, but because violenet rhetoric is inherently dangerous.

@DjBobbyLosAngeles Yes, I also think that people should be careful about not getting all their information from one source. I primarily get my news from NPR but I also check out TYT occassionally the Huffington Post, Rachel Maddow. I've found NPR to be the best because it's not ideological.
