He was once married to a woman and then finally became confident with who he is as a person, a gay man. So he divorced her. So, I think this should be performed as a serious monologue.
I do love Bob Martin but I must say that I feel like he really threw away that monologue. I am playing the character of "Man" currently and I feel throughout the entire show he is a sassy middle aged man but this is one of the few times in the show where he is able to tell the audiences a little about himself. I don't know how other actors approached this character but I feel that this is his life. (continues on next post...this post is too many characters for youtube)
