Personally, I dislike the Hostel movies, not because they're disturbing, but because they're not the best-made movies. Second, Slovakia is nothing like how it is in the movies. These are pure ficiton, and so is Roth's version of Slovakia. Third, that burning of the DVDs, that's kinda crossing into Nazi territory, dontcha think?

it's not really banned in germany. A cut version is still available, but the uncut and slightly cut versions are banned. Germany is pretty strict as far as violence in media is concerned. on the other hand, movies like american pie 3 that are "unrated" in america (at lest the uncut version) run on free tv at 8 pm an earlier.
