I'm in love with this scene even though it breaks my heart. Louis Garrel's face at 0:54 as he watches his girlfriend dance says it all. He can't enjoy himself because he knows this moment will pass, his relationship won't last forever. He knows his girlfriend can live without him, he cannot. Some of these people will break up, move away, move on, get left behind, and pass away. That's life. It will happen to everyone. That's why you've got to be like the guy at 0:58. Enjoy it while it lasts!
my mum was a hippy and how i wish i could be, free loving happy people full of hope for the futur and all you coffee crazed freaks out there find to say is smelly hippies, SAD! our generation is as sick as our world! great song!
One of the truly great British bands...and a song to rival anything in the last two years...I feel sorry for you saddoes who missed out on real good music, and now can only show misplaced and deranged jealousy...I was a hippie, and how good was that!
That was amazing--fluid, in the moment, joyus, and elegatic all at once. On first play it looks almost impromptu, but on repeat viewings you can see the care the film maker spent setting it up, and the skill of the actors in pulling it off. Even then they were lucky to get all in that long final take.
Just saw Phillippe Garell's Les Amants Reguliers tonight at BAM. What a wondrous surprise to discover this clip on YouTube, and attracting so many fans. It deserves it too: a perfect scene from a wonderful, elliptical film about the aftermath of May '68, shot in gorgeous black-and-white.
Oh my god, this scene is so fantastic, the movie too.
Louise Garrel and Clotilde Hesme are both beautiful, is a poetical movie where spirituality is prevalent, and it appends on May 68, so it's more interesant.
En revanche, 30 euros le dvd chez mk2 ça fait mal, mais quand on aime on ne compte pas, hein!
Cinema has gained its second best dance scene after Godard's 'Bande a part'. Gerrel captures the feel and the style of people who in their bohemian ensemble shine like diamonds. Nostalgia or the moment of rapture that evolved in a dead end of people departing. A tangible affection for the fragile landscape of faces who hopelesly believed in a dream. On the way to disembarkation the party as a point of deliverance for the axiom of youth. This time tommorrow...

I know this is the inner circle of Philippe Garrel but can anyone help to understand who they supposed to be in real life?
I know that the painter is Frederic Pardo (not the actor i know)

I want to dedicate this movie scene to Marijn V.D.B. - I feel like the dandy guy: he can't have his lover but he want to dance on and on -
because if he stops he would start crying, just like me without you
