  • I'm in love with this scene even though it breaks my heart. Louis Garrel's face at 0:54 as he watches his girlfriend dance says it all. He can't enjoy himself because he knows this moment will pass, his relationship won't last forever. He knows his girlfriend can live without him, he cannot. Some of these people will break up, move away, move on, get left behind, and pass away. That's life. It will happen to everyone. That's why you've got to be like the guy at 0:58. Enjoy it while it lasts!

  • what's the story behind this clip? is it from a movie? and it the song played in it originally?

  • Movie. "Regular Lovers"

  • Oneo fo my all time favorite kinks songs...God save the kinks!

  • The actor in 1:07-1:27 is Nicolas Maury.

  • I know this is the inner circle of Philippe Garrel but can anyone help to understand who they supposed to be in real life?

I know that the painter is Frederic Pardo (not the actor i know)

  • What's the name of that actor in 1:07-1:27?

  • Nicolas Maury

  • i like when the guy spins in at :45

  • Beautiful song. Not from this world....-)

    Thank you, Ray.

  • I long for the days you could go to a club and dance to rock music. A rare thing nowadays.

  • oh..

  • and the song appears in Darjeeling Limited.

  • haha im naked!!! who wants a strip tease msg me! 9

  • haha smelly hippie..

  • One of the truly great British bands...and a song to rival anything in the last two years...I feel sorry for you saddoes who missed out on real good music, and now can only show misplaced and deranged jealousy...I was a hippie, and how good was that!

  • good music is still being made, harder to find maybe, but definitely still out there.

  • invasion of the lars said i liked it..... LAR

  • i just saw this movie this weekend and loved it, and this was my very favorite scene. it's almost cheating to use such a great song by the kinks :)

  • lmao, they were french students on strike...

    u twat

  • They don't look dirty to me. Probably better dressed than you.

  • hmmm... this seems like an excellent time to smoke some hashish! rock on darjeeling!

  • This song makes me wish I wasn't born like two decades too late! :D Its simply gorgeous.

  • I cant find anything in the internet. This Song is awesome ... but i cant find anything!

  • you can get it on the Darjeeling Limited soundtrack

if you mean that you can't find the song

  • Lola vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround is the album.

  • Part One...

  • The Kinks - This Time Tomorrow,

    they are just soo gooodddd!!!

  • ahhh this is pure genious

  • genial

  • I want to dedicate this movie scene to Marijn V.D.B. - I feel like the dandy guy: he can't have his lover but he want to dance on and on -

because if he stops he would start crying, just like me without you

  • That was amazing--fluid, in the moment, joyus, and elegatic all at once. On first play it looks almost impromptu, but on repeat viewings you can see the care the film maker spent setting it up, and the skill of the actors in pulling it off. Even then they were lucky to get all in that long final take.

  • Love the Kinks!!!

  • That's fantastic and why haven't I heard this incredibly song before. It's so moving and meaningful

  • Oui....Oui!

  • one of the greatest things ever put on celluloid. simply amazing!

  • Una fantàstica cançó per un fantàstic tros de pel·lícula...

Tampoc s'ha d'oblidar el fantàstic Louis Garrel! ;-P

    Acte II. Dreamers del Maig07.

    ;-)

  • Just saw Phillippe Garell's Les Amants Reguliers tonight at BAM. What a wondrous surprise to discover this clip on YouTube, and attracting so many fans. It deserves it too: a perfect scene from a wonderful, elliptical film about the aftermath of May '68, shot in gorgeous black-and-white.

  • myspace code??

  • This is what I was looking for! I loved the move and the music alone with the particular scene, thanks!

  • WOW! This has always been one of my favourite songs, and this video is just perfect for it! I would love to know more about this...

  • Absolutely lovely. Love this song, love the women, love the dancing. Glorious! Long live French women, and Ray Davies dominates!

  • I loooooooove this movie

  • Awesome I loved this! :D

  • perfeitoooooo, uma das melhores cenas do filme. sem duvida!

  • Oh my god, this scene is so fantastic, the movie too.

Louise Garrel and Clotilde Hesme are both beautiful, is a poetical movie where spirituality is prevalent, and it appends on May 68, so it's more interesant.

En revanche, 30 euros le dvd chez mk2 ça fait mal, mais quand on aime on ne compte pas, hein!

  • fantastic

  • Cinema has gained its second best dance scene after Godard's 'Bande a part'. Gerrel captures the feel and the style of people who in their bohemian ensemble shine like diamonds. Nostalgia or the moment of rapture that evolved in a dead end of people departing. A tangible affection for the fragile landscape of faces who hopelesly believed in a dream. On the way to disembarkation the party as a point of deliverance for the axiom of youth. This time tommorrow...

  • that's a great movie, and the song is grat too.
