Is this part of a longer segment? I was wondering if this was the same session that the close up footage used in the Malcolm Mclaren part of the old Hip Hop History Doc. came from?
@erholung No, you're very wrong, ungreatful, no history knowing dimbulbs, such as yourself, there would be no TODAY. So, you maniac, learn and get educated instead of passing on misinformation, you self-dissing ass hole.
This was when Hiphop was magical a very creative artform. Wouldn't it be kool if you could go back in a time machine and blow these guys minds with some of the modern day tricks? ;) I don't think they would be that impressed with modern day rappers. But to see their faces if you pulled off a transform or crab using digital vinyl! I wonder if they would have the ability to actually do it or not, maybe it would take them a long while to adapt?
Yo you the first dude I ever heard say that. I love Flash he is fast and without him prob no cuttin or scratchin plus he was an innovator thru out his career. But Whiz, made sounds like noone, on Scratch goes my Dub I always thought a dude was playing a Bass guitar man. When he scratched it sounded like and instrument especially in Scratch Goes My Dub. Whiz is def top notch but it seems to me very few people recognize how nice/fast Whiz was. R.I.P Harlod(Whiz) we miss you man.

man this is where it all started to go bad, they send their spies to take all the secrets, what makes the turntable do what it does, and what materials are used.
timeing, i guess in 50 years they will be saying black people have't done anything.
1996?!? Sigh....I had the album 'He's got the beat', there's one track simply called 'hip hop', a track, I personally, call the other hip hop anthem to 'play that beat'. Anybody know of it?
Whiz kid died in '96. I remember being at the Manchester (England) DMC heat, in April/May of that year, and Cutmaster Swift mentioned his passing, on the microphone.
whiz kid is dead??? when the fuck did he die!!! All I can say is dayum! you captured history! Keep it comming and thanks this is so cool to see history. As a dj myself.
R.I.P. Whiz!!!!! Great footage. If you have more please upload. Whiz was one of the quickest, tricky and innovative DJs of that era.
