  • The VW Golf 4 does actually have side airbags placed in the front seats. They did not pop out, did they?

  • @oe98b07 originally, no. they were made standard a couple years later.

  • @rxs2011 I've just found the answer. There were side airbags in this test car from 1998. Check the link in the description.

"Side impact: The seat-mounted side airbag provided padding for the driver's chest and abdomen. Protection for his chest and abdomen was adequate and for his pelvis, good. His head lightly struck the central door pillar and seat belt loop. The door pillar trim cover contained energy-absorbing padding which should help to protect the head if the contact was more severe."

  • This car saved my life, seriously.

  • Not bad at all,in 1998. Even today, this model is very safety.

  • I'd give my car for that crashed Golf...! ha ha

I love Volkswagen Golf Best Car Ever

  • I love my car ı have one 2001.. Mk 4 is Real Legend.. !

  • at 0:29 my cousin died like that but the damage was harder and it was a 2003 model and he crashed like that side doors in a concrete lamp on his side =(

  • best looking golf they ever made

  • @joshhhieee1 the new one looks much better

  • i'm glad that i have one very stable

  • very good

  • such a beautiful german car... was such a beautiful german car

  • probably the safest car in the 90's very good it outstands even today's standards

not many cars could in 1998

    probably none

  • @215alessio

Volvo 740 etc... is like driving a stone, safer than this car

  • @silverlight76 No it aint! this one plows trough the old volvo 740 . safety standards back then where poor in comparsion with the new ones

  • the child in the back seat took more damage than the car!!!

  • 4 stars on ncap crash test with 1998 standards, not the beste but good enough to survive at 70 km/h

  • see the pug 307. that is an god car. bether then a golf 4

  • Thank you for posting this video.

  • the Golf 4 my friend drove lost his front right wheel because of a hole in the road at 100~110km/h and ended up on the other side of the road some 100 metres inside a field, wrecked to pieces from spinning side to side but he escaped out of the car with minor injuries, because he had his seat-belt on ONLY. The airbags on the passenger seat next to the driver opened up both front and on the side but on the drivers side they didn't. WEAR YOUR SEAT-BELTS! don't rely on the airbags only..

  • @Cnupoc

An airbag's almost useless if you don't wear a seat belt.

  • nice car

  • who pays for those cars?

  • @MrShdwX I do!

  • @rockabillyponta who are you and why do you pay?

  • VERY Safe for a car that is 12 Years old.

  • @matsui2001 nooooo the toyota avensis is 10000 time better

  • @matsui2001

    look at the dummy's head...

that's more than a few brain cells lost.

  • It freaks me out how slow these impacts really are. I dont consider 64km/h fast at all, well maybe now I do. And if it was head on with another car that was doing a similar speed.......I wonder if my bike is still in the shed?!!!

  • Sie golfik dobrze trzyma ;d

  • Awww, the kid behind the driver is having a great time... has his hands in the air like its a roller coaster.

  • @chewser117 yeah... the kid really enjoyed the impact

  • that s as good as the golf 6

  • That's damn good for 1998 (and not bad by today's standards)

  • @kz1000ps right

  • These Golf IV hasn´t got side airbags ?¿ My Golf IV it´s a 90 PS TDI and have Front Airbags and side airbags.

  • Volkswagen Das Auto :) xD Golf to porządne auto

  • why did they stop making this car, it still looks brilliant!!

  • @JENSDONT they do still make it

  • @buffyfoo not Golf 4!?!

  • @JENSDONT o no not the golf 4 i thought u were talking about golfs in general

  • @buffyfoo No, I wasn't :(...

  • @JENSDONT they should neva stop making golfs.. il uv their gti mkv

  • @buffyfoo Yeah, you're right. Golf GTI - versions are too modern these days... (too many gadgets...)

  • @JENSDONT i know right? they should stick with airconditioning heated seats and some other vw standard stuff not all the high-tech stuff, vw dubs r people cars not gadget cars

  • @JENSDONT bacause they make golf 6 now and its the best car you can get

  • @JENSDONT You can still buy them (not new of course) . I just bought a ten year old Golf MK IV GTI 25th anniversary edition in a very good condition. Runs like a charm.

  • Покупайте все VW хорошая крепкая машина=))

  • i drive this car ...well not this in the movie but this model^^

  • that's good...

  • wow wat a safe car
